ASUS Z1 Titan VS Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro: 6GB RAM beasts

The first thing we can notice immediately about these guys is that each of them represents the best reputation of its own company. However, we guess the Z1 Titan is somehow more outstanding in terms of appearance due to looking like a gaming smartphone. Yet, if you’re seeking an elegant handset, Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro can be more suitable.

Apart from 6GB of RAM, it seems like ASUS Z1 Titan specs and Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro specs are very different. While the Z1 Titan is said to feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED 2K screen, the Z2 Pro just comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display. Obviously the ASUS phone is better at this point. Moreover, it also beats the rival at processor, battery, ROM capacity, and rear camera: SD830 chip vs SD820 chip, 3,500mAh vs 3,100mAh, 256GB vs 128GB, and 16MP vs 13MP. New Lenovo ZUK model is coming with 4GB RAM and…

The one we want to talk about is Lenovo ZUK Z2, a successor to Lenovo ZUK Z1 debuting in August 2015. Actually it was confirmed long ago, but it is recently that much information of the handset has been unveiled. Speaking specifically, a model dubbed Z2121 appeared on Antutu benchmark with some detailed features. However, some say it is Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro, not the original machine. Anyway, we are so glad to know that the phone will come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip.

In addition to the Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro specs, basically there will be a Full HD display, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box, 3/4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory (we hope it can be expanded via microSD card slot). In terms of camera, the main one is capable of 13 megapixels and the secondary snapper is 8 megapixels. They are pretty standard but still able to bring you fantastic pictures for sure.

Although Antutu did not reveal a full sheet of the ZUK Z2 Pro’s hardware, it still totally can become a powerful competitor on the shelves. One more important thing is that if the phone is really going to be equipped with a rotating shooter as what we heard before, definitely it will stand out among a lot of smartphones nowadays.

Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro price and availability

Despite not knowing whether that is ZUK Z2 or Z2 Pro, or they are just one, you only have to wait a few more days to see it since the launch will officially take place on April 21, 2016. This was claimed by the Chinese company’s CEO Chang Cheng on Weibo. For the price, we predict it will cost around $360 to compete well with many other 4GB RAM smartphones out there.

Recently, we have been able to spot a new model we consider as a more advanced variant of Lenovo Vibe Shot for 2016. Speaking specifically, DeviantArt user r4yNTv was the one who created and named this Alpha. You may think its design is the same as the Shot, but in fact, Alpha boasts a thinner bezels, an anodized aluminum frame and chamfered edges on both sides; the logo and the camera cluster on the back are also a bit different if you look closely. Anyhow, Lenovo Vibe Alpha still keeps the unique appearance of the original handset. That’s cool, rite?!

As for Lenovo Vibe Alpha specs, it is said to come with mid-range features and some “nifty display technologies”. Specifically, the phone will pack a 5.0-inch Full HD screen from JDI (AH-IPS) with 90% NTSC color space and 1500:1 contrast ratio. Moreover, according to the source, there are modern technologies such as MediaTek MiraVision Display Engine, color tuning feature, ClearMotion 60 FPS, Asahi Dragontrail-X Cover Glass, and Synaptics ClearPad 3700 touchscreen controller on board to bring users excellent experience with the Alpha’s display.

For the rest, we note that the machine will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 paired with Vulkan API-ready G6200 GPU, IP67 rating, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, a 3,400mAh battery supporting fast charging tech, 3GB of RAM plus 32GB of internal storage. We have not been informed of the official Lenovo Vibe Alpha launch date as well as its price. ZUK Z1 was initially launched in late 2015 with only 2 color options: White and Grey. This time, the company rolled out a limited edition with Sandalwood back cover of the phone in China.
