Nokia Lumia Play 2-in-1: Smartphone and Games console!

If Nokia Swan and Nokia Power Ranger are Nokia’s Flagships for Nokia’s 2016 Comeback, the Nokia LUMIA Play 2:1 is NOKIA’s new Gaming Phone for all customers who want HIGH END GAMING on a smartphone…

Nokia Lumia Play 2-in-1: Smartphone and Games console!

It is easily to see that Nokia Lumia Play is  Nokia’s next smartphone aimed at gaming. We figure it out not only from the name but also the design. It features sliding game pads which can improve or bring a totally new mobile gaming experience since you will not have to move your fingers on a not-very-spacious screen anymore. That is for the look. Nokia Lumia Play specs are also mentioned as a powerful package of hardware capable of delivering stunning graphics which is pretty important for most gaming smartphones. Accordingly, the Play is powered by Microsoft XBOX technology. Moreover, you can use it as a gamepad with an XBOX 360 console. It is just like 2 in 1: a smartphone and a part of a games console. Cool!

Other features of the Nokia Lumia Play are a Octa-core CPU, 4 GB of RAM or 6GB RAM paired with 64 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card), and a display with high definition, 1136 x 640 resolution and Gorilla Glass. As for the camera, there are a 20 MP Pureview  rear and a 8 MP front-facing snapper. We dont have information yet about the battery, but we hope its going to be huge with more then 6000mAH. Though this is not a camera-centric smartphone, we hope Nokia can equip the main shooter with 40 MP or more. Also, Lumia Play is said to support NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi, and come with 5 different color options.

Nokia_Lumia_Play_

Last but not least, you may wonder what the operating system the Play runs on. Looking at the picture, it is quite sure that the OS is Windows Phone, and Windows 10 is the newest OS now. There still is the slim chance though, that the Nokia PLAY is going to feature Android 6.0, so lets wait for this.

Nokia Lumia Play – Gaming Beast!

There are more and more smartphone fans, who want the ultimate Gaming Experience with their smartphone. If Nokia can include a high end battery and an affordable price for the Nokia LUMIA Play Price of less then 300 USD. They will have a real Winner for the NOKIA Comeback 2016!

Nokia Snake game reborn!

When smartphones were created and then have been so popular, we’ve seen a lot of interesting games like Angry Birds, Candy Crush Saga, etc. become famous perhaps thanks to many factors such as characters, display colors, sounds, simple rules, and so. However, before them, there was a much more simple game that ruled the mobile gaming scene. It is the Snake game.

snake-nokia-480

Do you remember it? Did you ever feel addicted to it? Yes, we did. It was such an extremely annoying yet engaging game firstly included on a Nokia 6110 in 1997 and then on all Nokia phones. Talking about its developer, it was Taneli Armanto and he is also the one that has brought the Snake back. Accordingly, the new Snake version is dubbed Snake Rewind and available for Windows Phone, Android and iOS handsets.

“Taneli Armanto and Rumilus Design have joined forces to bring you Snake Rewind! Iconic elements and intuitive gameplay from the original Snake are combined with cool visual effects, sounds and many new features. The result is a game that will entertain, challenge and delight you time after time!” said Rumilus Design.

Some small changes have been applied but Snake Rewind still has the basic blueprint as the original one. We also should note that the graphics of the game is updated and equipped with music and sound effects. Fortunately, you can rewind time once your snake crashes any time. Sounds good?

As usual, Snake Rewind is free but in case of wanting to purchase in-app upgrades or some special items, you have to access to a “fruit store”. For a fuller list of Snake Rewind features, let’s take a look at the following part:

 – Rewind the snake to continue playing after crashing

 – Collect various special kinds of fruit with unique powers and effects

– Include 10 levels with fun and challenges; each level is built with distinct visual and music.

 – Have a fruit store offering boosters and items

– Compete against other players or your friends on Facebook; scores and rankings will be listed on the leaderboards.

– Have a special thing for players if they are able to fill the whole screen with the snake

CONCLUSION

To recap, we are glad that some “traditional” games for phones like Snake game has a chance to come back. Maybe next year, when Nokia returns to producing mobiles, we will see Snake Rewind on all Nokia smartphones just like the good old days.

Nokia 4G LTE: 50 times stronger than what you knew

Last year, Artemis Network introduced pCell technology which is a mobile wireless tech allowing “equipped mobile devices within a pCell coverage area to each receive 100% of the available theoretical bandwidth capacity.” It may sound a bit unrealistic but Nokia is joining the project. Therefore, probably we will have a powerful wireless network next year when the giant Finland comes back!

Nokia Network

pCell is…

…more advanced than current mobile wireless data technologies such as 4G LTE which makes the data throughput decrease once more and more devices become active in the coverage area. On the other hand, pCell promises to offer about 50 times the 4G LTE network’s capacity while using the same wireless spectrum. So, we can see that this is such an great idea for a big place like a stadium.

However, when pCell was first announced, many people doubted it but lately, we have been informed that the tech is eventually going to be tested. And of course, its goal is still to increase wireless connectivity speed. Nonetheless, one special thing we have to tell you is that Artemis Networks will do the test with Nokia, starting next year, 2016, also the year which will see Nokia’s comeback.

Nokia 4G LTE

What will Nokia do?

Specifically, according to this new agreement, Nokia and Artemis will be working in conjunction with some wireless carriers to examine pCell in places like stadiums (as we mentioned above) since they will have a huge number of mobile devices needing a great amount of wireless network. In addition, it will work on existing Apple and Android smartphones.

“I have seen the demo … in a very controlled environment, but it seems to work,” said Hossein Moiin, Nokia Networks’ chief technology officer, in an interview. “What we’re doing next is demonstrating that it does work. I’m not 100 percent sold, but I’m a believer.”

Also, Nokia will connect pCell to the networking equipment that they propose and they have to make sure calls will not be dropped if the caller moves from a 4G LTE network into the stadium equipped with the pCell. At first, we have to admit we thought the concept of pCell is too good to be true. Yet, after knowing that Nokia is joining the game, we believe some positive results will be seen. Then, Nokia will even be backing the Artemis’s finance to develop the tech more and integrate it into current systems.

In the end…

…if the pCell works well, it means we do not have to be afraid of being difficult or unable to connect the Wi-Fi in a crowded place. And we believe it will work since Nokia is trying also.

Nokia McLaren hands-on: 50MP Zeiss looking great!

Nokia McLaren is a beautiful smartphone concept proposed by Nokia that we introduced earlier on Pricepony. It was meant to be the successor of Lumia 1020, when Nokia and Microsoft were working together under a contract. What special about this Nokia McLaren and makes it distinctive from other smartphone concepts is that, Nokia McLaren had almost reached mass production when Microsoft turned it down!

Nokia McLaren hands-on

Since the Nokia McLaren had made it so close to mass production, we can actually see pictures of the real machine. This is also what many smartphone producers do: first they have the smartphone concept, then proceed the design render, then they work on to propose how the smartphone looks in real machine before having it manufactured and launched.

The pictures we found feature a Nokia McLaren laying next to an iPhone, allegedly iPhone 6S. I guess the author of these pics intended to make some comparison of the two device: McLaren from world-popular Nokia and iPhone 6 from controversial Apple!

Nokia McLaren hands-on: what it really looks like!

As you can see in the picture, the first thing to catch our attention is Nokia McLaren big, rounded, protrusive camera module. Such camera has been so successful it is recognized by almost every user as a signature of a Nokia-Lumia smartphone. The whole handset looks classy and elegant in full metal body (seems like) and greyish color. Absolutely contrast to the iPhone next by, Nokia McLaren features squared corners and edges.

Nokia McLaren – successor of Lumia 1020?

If you remember the Lumia 1020, you may recognize why this Nokia McLaren is supposed to be the successor of that Lumia 1020, clearly from the design. The Lumia 1020 looks very similar in shape, with identical camera module, but in Lumia’s signature bright yellow color. Hmm, to be very fair, many many users all around the world used to (and are still) big fans of this design, don’t you agree with me?

Nokia McLaren hands on

Although the Nokia McLaren had been cancelled by Microsoft, I personally, and many Nokia fans are hoping this concept, once made by the company, will be brought to real life also by them in their Nokia 2016 comeback (which is confirmed by the company)! I am excited to know how awesome those pictures taken by 50MP camera can be!

Nokia Comeback 2016: It’s official by the company!

In an important meeting with shareholders, Nokia Board of Directors confirmed their come back 2016 and mentioned that they are going to “manufacture, market and sell mobile devices and consumer wearables and other electronics”

Nokia-E1

Nokia comeback to mobile market confirmed by the company

In the official announcement Nokia published on their website, they mentioned very clearly about all the terms and conditions of the Extraordinary General Meeting happening later this December 2nd, 2015. Part of that refers to the target of both parties in the combination of Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent. Both companies clarified that, they are cooperating with each other in the search of pursuing their long-term business development. They are aware of and ready to take any challenges and risks, together!

Ok, It has been a bit too technical so far. In order words, Nokia has proudly informed the whole world, by a major planned meeting, about their Nokia comeback 2016. The company sounds confident and hints that, with the cooperation of Alcatel, Nokia will challenge and threaten other competitors in the industry. After all, despite a long time of absence, Nokia was and is still called a smartphone legend for a reason, don’t you agree?

Nokia Comeback 2016

If you want to read more about the technical terms and all the legal issuance relevant to Nokia comeback 2016, please refer to Nokia official company website. On my side, I know both me and any of Nokia fans among you guys are already getting too excited about the news of Nokia comeback 2016!

Nokia comeback 2016: already getting so exciting

Since 2015 is coming to and end, it is even hotter than ever with this piece of reliable information from no one else, but Nokia. We have heard about many potential Nokia smartphones that will be introduced in 2016. Which is the best Nokia phone that you can’t wait to see?

Nokia 1030: 6GB RAM and 50MP Pureview is..

We have good news for all Nokia phone fans. Today we present you the Nokia 1030 Smartphone, one of the most exciting new Nokia Smartphones with Nokia’s 50MP Pureview Camera and and 6GB RAM…

Nokia Lumia 1030

Nokia 1030 50 MP Pureview Beast and Awesome Design

As you might know, one of the most crucial business transactions during the past years in the technology world was the purchase of Nokia phones by Microsoft. Nokia’s Comeback 2016 will be soon. And here we are ,very much looking forward to this upcoming smartphone: Nokia McLaren, or Nokia Lumia 1030. Nokia 1030 specs are super fascinating:  5″ FHD, premium 3D Touch ID, 6GB RAM and 50MP Pureview with Carl Zeiss sensor!

Nokia 1030 is a beautiful smartphone concept proposed by Nokia when still under the contract with Microsoft. Based on the design, we can say that this phone was supposed to be the successor of Lumia 1020, explaining the name Nokia Lumia 1030. On first impression, the smartphone has an elegant grayish body, plus a large circular camera module on the back, very typical of Nokia camera-centric smartphones. Very well-done!

Nokia McLaren VS Microsoft Lumia 950XL: 50MP Pureview, 3GB RAM

Personally, I think that, it would make an absolutely awesome smartphone if besides the 50MP Pureview camera, it goes with huge RAM and long battery also. That’s why a premium 6GB RAM and at least 4000 mAH battery are expected! For this monster spec, we are guessing Nokia 1030 price to be around USD 500. Anyway, you get what you pay for, isn’t it?

Nokia 1030 Price and Release Date in India?

On the threshold of Nokia comeback 2016, this Nokia 1030 Phone is definitely of my favorite vote for the GIANT to bring to life. The Nokia Lumia 1030 was actually already in prototype and ready for Production as the next Nokia Flagship phone. You can check our Comparison photos of Nokia Lumia 1030 vs iPhone 6S.  Anyways Microsoft’s contract with Nokia is running out, so lets hope that for the Nokia Comeback in 2016 we will see the new Nokia 1030 phone!

Nokia E1: Nokia Budget smartphone with 20MP and Android 6.0

If Nokia Power Ranger can be a high-end smartphone to mark the Nokia’s comeback next year, Nokia E1 can be a mid-ranger helping Nokia get closer to consumers who want affordable devices…

nokia e1

Nokia E1: winner of design!

Most of us know Microsoft took over the Nokia’s Lumia branding and Nokia would not produce smartphones until 2016 to complete the deal. And recently many sources have claimed that Nokia is working on designing new handsets for their comeback, which has been making a lot of people excited. While waiting for this, we found some interesting concepts that can inspire the company, from the high-end category to the low-end one. So, this time, let’s check out one belonging to mid-range: Nokia E1.

Our first impression is that it is very beautiful. Every inch is perfect and outstanding from older handsets of the manufacturer. Specifically, the phone was designed by a Russian designer named Dmitriy Mezenin. If the E1 comes true, it should be made with a metal body though plastic is not too bad. Besides some nice curving, Nokia E1 has extremely thin borders and looks like running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Nokia Z Launcher. Maybe Android 6.0 Marshmallow would be better!

Nokia-E1-design-and-specs-b

Other Nokia E1 Specs will probably include a 2.3GHz Intel 64-bit Atom processor, PowerVR G6430 graphics, and a 4.95-inch Full HD IPS display. In addition, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 2700 mAh battery will be on-board, too. As for the camera, a 20MP rear and 5MP front-facing shooter seem to be… enough 😀 .

Nokia E1 price: surprisingly affordable!

About the Nokia E1 price, we assume that with such specifications and look, E1 may cost around $200-$250. If so, Nokia E1 can beat a lot of rivals in its kind.  Anyhow, those are some features coming along with the render Nokia E1. Hopefully, the firm will consider it for their future’s products since it is so pretty, we have to say. Don’t you agree with us?

Nokia smartphone to come with 3D UI elements

Technology is developing non-stop and something like 3D-capable smartphones may be new to the market at first but will definitely become a trend some day. Not standing outside the game, Nokia will probably bring to shelves their own capable of delivering 3D content…

Recentlu, Tommy Incrosnatu, a designer, has brought us an attractive Nokia smartphone concept that is not only available for your viewing pleasure but also capable of 3D looks. It is considered as a device coming with beauty elements of Finnish nature. Though the design is quite simple, we still can see the taste of a premium machine. Don’t you think?

Nokia

In addition, the designer explained on his website that the concept was to show how simplicity and 3D elements can be combined:

“I teamed up with 3D artists Oula and Miika to create something amazing. I’ve had this idea for years to create a concept phone and give it my take on a modern smartphone user interface.

I wanted to use desirable and simplified graphics, spiced up with photography. I also added some concept level ideas to the core applications, pushing for a well thought out GUI and some playful tricks.

The goal was to have fun and prove something to ourselves, but maybe we’ve ended up being too ambitious, doing things like 3D racing game graphics.

The final presentation style aims for the beauty of Finnish nature and the end format will be 60 second full-on TV-advert.”

However, apart from the pictures, we are informed of nothing related to the Nokia 3D specs.

In the end, we want to thank the designer for this beautiful Nokia phone and perhaps Nokia would consider bringing it to shelves next year when they come back. Who knows?

Now, let’s take a look at some pictures of the Nokia 3D!

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: Gaming phablet VS Legend tablet

Acer Predator 6, launched earlier in October, is such a hot beast that got attention from most of our users. Nokia N1 tablets, launched a while ago, is Nokia’s first attempt in the tablet category. However, despite the huge public attention, whether both the Nokia N1 and the Acer Predator 6 are wise movement from the companies is still an open-ended question.

That is also the reason why I came up with this comparison: Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1, to compare their selling points and what could hook users into them.

acer predator 6 (2)

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: Gaming Phablet VS Camera Tablet

Acer Predator 6 display sports a generous 6 inch, which is huge compared to average smartphones. But such display is just perfect for the purpose Acer Predator 6 is serving: gaming device. A large display is exactly what every gamer is looking for to have maximum enjoyment with their favorite programs. –> true gaming beast

Nokia N1 tablet has a 7.9 inch display, which is quite popular for a tablet to date. Weighing 318g (which is close to double an average smartphone like the Asus Zenfone Selfie), Nokia N1 is handy and comfortable to hold enough for any action to be made on it. One thing to notice is that, with 8MP and 5MP sensors, the Nokia N1 cameras are quite premium compared to those sensors on other tablets. –> such a camera tablet

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: specs comparison

Acer Predator 6 has quite a high-end combination of specs. The device sports powerful 4GB RAM with amazing 10-core processor. This boosts the device’s performance and guarantees the fastest loading for “impatient” heavy gamers.

Meanwhile, Nokia N1 specs are considered high compared to typical tablets on our market also: a strong 2GB RAM with famous Intel chip, quad-core on board and a long-lasting 5,300 mAH. Perfect for those who are in need of constant use on a big-screen electronic device.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: selling points

Acer Predator 6 is definitely the dream device of any heavy gamer out there (do that include yourself?). It looks stylish, with perfect specs, long battery and just right to work on any game you like. Yes, I would say that, a combination of strong design and stronger inside is what help sell this Acer Predator 6.

Nokia N1 – an Android-based tablet from the smartphone legend. Its name is powerful enough to attract lots of users. The tablet comes with elegant design, long battery, and especially a very decent camera (which is not easily found in others) are what help sell this Nokia N1.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: and their draw backs

However, like most other devices, both of these have their certain draw backs. While the Acer Predator 6 is quite amazing, it only targets a small group of specific users, and comes with quite high price. (For now, we don’t know the exact Acer Predator 6 price in PH yet, but we suppose it would not be less than PHP 30K). These factors really limit the number of Acer Predator 6 units sold worldwide.

Talking about the other, Nokia N1 is a decent device from Nokia. While it has many strong points: good reputation, nice camera, long battery, there is one thing that can restrict sales: the category. As you may also notice, we are now more and more interested in smartphones rather than tablet, the Nokia N1 can lose many potential users for having a big and bulky display compared to those fit-in-your-pocket mobile handsets.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: closing note

Both Acer and Nokia are vey famous mobile OEMs worldwide. We see their strong and weak points, and I bet they do also. I firmly believe that both companies have very clear business strategies and know what they are targeting.

I hope this Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1 comparison gave you a fuller look into these very interesting beasts, and maybe, help explain some of your questions about the two.

Best of Nokia comeback 2016: Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1 comparison

Nokia concepts that are being expected to go real after Nokia come back in 2016 are no longer strange to many of us smartphone lovers. However, among many Nokia concepts that aspiring designers have produced, only several of them become our favorite, for a bunch of reasons. Among the most popular devices are Nokia Swan and Nokia C1.

Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1

Similar to what we did with the Nokia Swan VS Nokia Power Ranger comparison early on, this time we have your next favorite content: Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1 collation.

1. Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1: originality

Nokia C1 is famous for being the first Android smartphone Nokia ever made, if it really comes true after the Nokia come back set to happen in 2016. Although it is not official for now, there is very high chance for this Nokia C1 smartphone to be launched soon, since we already spotted real life image of this beast.

Meanwhile, Nokia Swan is still a pure concept made by a Vietnamese artist. We have no idea if Nokia got to know about this design already. If yes, we very much hope that they may be inspired and bring the Nokia Swan to real life.

Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1
Beautiful Nokia Swan concept from Vietnamese artist

2. Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1: design

Nokia C1 has a very realistic design, since it was made be produced and launched soon. The smartphone has slim bezel, and elegant body and round border. Because it has been a long while since the last Nokia smartphone was remember, this Nokia C1 could be the handset that re-create Nokia’s signature in the mobile market.

On the other hand, Nokia Swan looks much more fancy, for it is meant to be a product of creativity. The handset looks like it is full metal, with rounded shape and strong rear. Both of them look very appealing, but each serve as a different target.

3. Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1: what to be recognized

Nokia Swan is definitely offering very appealing features. It is a smartphone + tablet hybrid that works super smooth as a smartphone, but could be turned into a tablet in just seconds. Besides, the designer did not mentioned much about Nokia Swans specs, rather than popular 4GB RAM and 216GB ROM.

Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1
Alleged picture of Nokia C1 design

Nokia C1 has been having some rumors in terms of specs and release date. Everyone was automatically paying attention to the C1 since it is said to be the first Nokia-made Android smartphone ever. This piece of information itself is good enough to help Nokia sell the phone. Furthermore, the Nokia C1 price is said to be of middle range to reach the majority of customer: possibly sub PHP 15K.

4. Nokia Swan VS Nokia C1: conclusion note

As I mentioned more than once above, since these devices have their different target, they were developed very directly into their orientation. However, it is nice to have a full review of 2 of the most popular Nokia concepts to date: one is pure product of creativity, the other is meant to be manufactured and used.

Nokia Comeback 2016 hotter than ever: Nokia supply MILLIONS of LTE devices in China

Nokia is going to provide one million TD-LTE devices for China Mobile and authorize Nokia Networks to supply this world’s largest mobile operator with their TD-LTE-Advanced tech! They are not just about Nokia smartphones, wow!

Nokia supply

NOKIA Supply LTE: I won’t just bring you dream phones!

Previously, China Mobile has announced the plan of installing a million TDLTE base stations at the end of the year. And guess who is the winner of this contract? Yes, it’s Nokia Networks. This movement also means Nokia has now become the telco’s the largest foreign vendor in China, a market that already has a lot of strong and rich domestic vendors. The advanced technology Nokia supply China Mobile is based on the Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station.

“This deal is a big achievement that makes us the number one non-Chinese network vendor in China for the third year in a row,” said Mike Wang, President of Greater China for Nokia Networks. We will see Nokia supply a wide range of frequency bands such as 2.6GHz (band 41), 2.3GHz (band 40) and 1.9GHz (band 39), making data transfer much quicker and stronger when used in big crowds.

Nokia supply

September, 2015, China Mobile displayed 220Mbps peak data transfer rates at Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2015 and they were created on Nokia Networks’ on 3.5GHz interband TD-LTE-Advanced carrier aggregators. In addition, the companies have also demonstrated 4.1Gbps speed with the  TDD-FDD carrier aggregation of Nokia.

NOKIA Supply LTE – Great network, greater comeback!

According to Nokia Networks, they have 50 commercial references on 6 continents in terms of delivering TD-LTE radio technology. That is such an impressive number for the Finnish company! All of these plans and contract are contributing to reaffirm the reputation, strength and capabilities of the company. More interesting, these help reaffirm a great development as well as Nokia comeback next year! I just can’t wait to see you back, smartphone Legend!

Nokia’s newest Invention for 2016: Helping the Poorest!

Nokia’s Comeback is coming soon with the newest Nokia Android phones like the Nokia C1. But it seems this is not the only surprise that Nokia is preparing for us. Nokia presents a new environment friendly version for all of you who like to – wait for it – BYCYCLE.

Nokia’s New Bycicle Charger Kit, lets you charge your mobile phone, just by using your pedals. Nokia’s bycicle kit uses a small dynamo, very similar to the ones found to power your front and back light. How long it takes to fully charge your phone, obvioulsy depends on your smartphone and smartphone battery. We just have data from Nokia for the Legendary Nokia 1202. For 20 minutes of pedaling you get 74 hours of standby time, not bad at all. You dont need to worry to send spikes of electricity to your Nokia smartphone, the kit will cut down the electricity if you go faster then 50 km/h.

Nokia’s Bicycle Charger Kit will be usable with any Nokia mobile Phone. The idea is of course not new and might be more of a Marketing Gimmick for the Comeback of Nokia 2016. On the other hand, Nokia Feature phones are still the world’s most sold phones. In rural areas where electricty is rare or sometimes not available at all, might be a very welcome solution for all those Nokia phone holders.

The Nokia Bycicle Kit was introduced specifically for African Communities where the biggest problem for sustainable communication is often not mobile phones or networks, but no stable electricity. Giving that there are still very hard conditions in many places worldwide, and these Basic Bottle Dynamos are fairly cheap, the idea doesnt seem to bad.

In fact the Billions in Change project by Manoj Bhargava has invented a similar, although way more powerful solution. With their Free Electric hybrid bike, rural households can get up to 24 hours of free electricty! So lets hope Nokia is going down the right road for their comeback!
