New Galaxy A series: Galaxy A3, A5, and A7

In this Galaxy A series, we’ll talk about Samsung Galaxy A5 first. Samsung will bring a new life for this phone, with more RAM and a new processor. The phone was spotted on Geekbench with a model number: “SM-A520F”. In 2017, Galaxy A5 will come with a bigger 3GB RAM compared to 2GB RAM of the old version. Along with it is a new processor: Samsung Exynos 7880. Besides, it has at least 5.5-inch display, 2900 mAh battery, and 13MP/5MP camera based on what 2016 version has.

The rest of the Galaxy A series are A5 and A7. On Geekbench, they are leaked with model numbers “SM-A320F” and “SM-A720F”. At present, Galaxy A7 owns 5.5-inch fullHD display, 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM, and 3300 mAh battery. In 2017, this phone could be updated to bigger RAM and ROM. The rest will supposedly remain the same. Thus, 2017 Galaxy A7 will sport 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 5.5-inch, and 3300 mAh battery. As for the new Galaxy A3, it also allegedly comes with a bigger 5.2-inch, a bigger 2GB RAM, and a larger 3000 mAH battery.

In terms of the design, Samsung Galaxy A 2016 lineup shows a much more appealing design compared to the 2015 variants. Therefore, it would be no surprise if Samsung renews the design of Galaxy A members. Hopefully, they will be more beautiful than the current models.

New Galaxy A series release date and new price

As some reports suggest, the 2017 versions of Samsung Galaxy A series might be announced between October 2016 and January next year. To be more specific, joining Samsung Galaxy Note 7 today are its predecessors including Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge; and some of its rivals in the market including Apple iPhone 6s Plus, HTC 10, OnePlus 3 and LG G5. The first impression of the result is that there is a steady progress with Samsung devices through the years. Note 3, with 3200mAh battery, only lasts for 6 hours 8 minutes while Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery, with 3500mAh capacity, lasts for 9 hours 49 minutes.

We also tested Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery the Snapdragon version, but the result was 7 hours 55 minutes, much worse than that of the Exynos version. Such gap is due to the fact that the Exynos chipset include two quad-core processors, one with high clock speed which is only used for handling heavy tasks, the other with low clock speed for dealing simple tasks without consume much of the battery. On the other hand, Snapdragon 820 chipset has a single quad-core processor with high clock speed for all tasks.

Also according to the result, iPhone 6s Plus, with 2750mAh battery, remains “alive” for the same period of time as the… Galaxy Note 5: 9 hours 11 minutes. Besides, HTC 10, with 3000mAh battery, lasts 7 hours 10 minutes; OnePlus 3, also with 3000mAh cell, stays alive for 5 hours 53 minutes and LG G5, with 2800mAh battery, survives 5 hours 51 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery tests: Capacity is not the only thing that counts

So according to the test, Note 7 the Exynos chipset has beaten all other flagships in terms of battery. As we all know, Samsung has been in the spotlight recently. The Galaxy Note 7 hype is unbelievable, we can see headlines like “Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire” everywhere. However, besides all the good things that have already been said and reported, this news is a little bit unpleasant for Samsung. Some images on the Chinese social media website Baidu showed us a Galaxy Note 7, only a few weeks old – as the poster claimed, burnt and damaged heavily after what seems to be an explosion.

What caused the explosion to make this Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire? Nothing is certain at this point, and there’s not much information about this case. However,from the pictures, we can see that the holder of the damaged Note 7 (we assumed that to be the owner too) used Micro USB to USB-C adapter. And apparently, the adapter caught on fire.

For this “Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire” story, there are some explanations. First, of course, is the use of third-party charging wires and adapters, which many manufacturers advise against doing so. Also, the phablet in question may not even be a legit Note 7 – on the front, there’s no Samsung logo above the screen. Furthermore, Note 7 is not even officially released to customers yet (customers who pre-ordered will receive the device early September), only a handful of reviewers got their hands on this device. The last theory is that the fault lies in Samsung’s device. If this is the case, it would be big trouble for the Korean giant manufacturer.
