The device scored an overall result of 88 points, which is 1 point higher than the previous record-keeper Xperia Z5 by Sony.

Samsung is not only a smartphone producer but also a processor manufacturer. Last year, they launched Exynos 7420, which is known as the company’s leading 14nm FinFET chip and used for high-end devices such as the flagship Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge Plus, etc. That was 2015. This year, the firm has announced a similar 14nm chipset, yet for mid-range handsets. It is named Samsung Exynos 7870.
Speaking more specifically, the Exynos 7870 consists of eight 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores and acts as an energy efficient chip for the mid-rangers, according to Samsung. In other words, moving to 14nm manufacturing is to improve performance and power efficiency. Samsung reports that their 7870 processor consumes approximately 30 percent less power than other machines packing 28nm chipset based on High-k Metal Gate process tech.
