Recently there is some news going around about full charging at only 6 minutes. That seems a very interesting and amazing technology, but we will not talk about that today. Since new technology will be on new smart phones, we focus more on already released devices. In a fast charging test conducted not too long ago, Asus Zenfone 2 and Samsung Galaxy S6 are tied on a 30 minute test. However, Asus Zenfone 2 stays the fastest charging smartphone if charging time at 15 minutes or lower.

Asus Zenfone 2 battery is 3000mAh. With normal charging, it would take the device around 3 hours to be completely charged. However, with fast charging enabled, Asus Zenfone 2 only takes around 1 hour 45 minutes to be fully charged.

It seems Asus has proved the promised time for fast charging they has made before. With this, Asus Zenfone 2 stays a more favorable smart phone among its rivals.

Samsung is famous with its own chipset – the Exynos. Exynos 7420 is the power source of Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy Note 5. Will the Exynos or Snapdragon 820 version be more powerful?

Although a new Galaxy flagship is expected, we still do not know if these information are really the truth. However, if Samsung is indeed planning to use Snapdragon 820 on Samsung Galaxy S7, then this is good news for both Samsung and Qualcomm. With Galaxy S7, Qualcomm may win reputation back to its chipset.

One other small note, although Samsung still have no official word about the OS they are using for Galaxy S7, it is very likely that the device will come with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Looking for your confirm, Samsung!

Samsung smartphone sales ranked first in Q1 2015, as reported. It seems the big company from Korea is earning a lot with its Galaxy series. The sales show that Samsung has sold more than 72 million units, earning 21.9% of market share this year. While Apple has surpassed Microsoft to become #2 on the chart, Lenovo sales drop, making it fall to the 6^th place.

Though Samsung tops on both feature phones and smart phones, their share on both market have decreased quite a bit. Although their flagships contributed much to the sales, it seems Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge do not attract the number of customers Samsung needs.

Samsung and LG. Two Korean manufacturers. Two big names in the market. Two mobile companies to produce curved screens. Last year, Samsung released the first Edge screen smart phones in the world: Samsung Galaxy Note Edge & S6 Edge. LG had released its curved LG G Flex back in 2013 though. MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology – has announced on August 18 that they  have found a way to increase battery life to unlimited use. The institute is in collaboration with Samsung, so maybe the new kind of battery will be used on Samsung phones in the future.

The solution is that they will replace the liquid sustance in the battery with solid material. This way the liquid substance will not be degenerate, making the battery capacity decrease. As the solid material takes place, there will be no capacity decrease after charges. We can recharge the battery for hundreds or thousands of times without worrying about it dying. And it means the battery has nearly unlimited use.

Moreover, MIT stated that this battery is more resistant to temperature and shock. It even is not flammable since there is no such substance to burn. The new kind of battery also reduces costs, while still being efficient and safe. Since there are many accidents with battery, the new one would give a lot of improvements in life.

We do not know when this unlimited battery will come into real production, but this is a huge step forward in the technology world. Not just smart phones, we can integrate this battery on many electronic devices as well. When that time comes, there will be a new era for us.

This glass panel will be thicker than any smart phone screens in the current market place. However, Samsung stated that holographic images on this kind of smart phone will be as realistic as ever. You will feel as if you’re looking at a real object.

Samsung does not reveal any technology regarding producing the glass panel. Nevertheless, according to Samsung, the smart phone does not just display 3D movie or contents, but also apps icons or text in a different way than normal.

Although the hologram field created by this smart phone is limited, it is great to know that Samsung is working on it. We need more and more unique devices to strengthen our technology. A few days ago, Samsung held a press conference in New York to release their latest generation of flagship: Galaxy Note 5.

As previously announced, the Galaxy Note 5 comes with 5.7 inch 2K display and a beautiful Samsung 16MP rear camera. The device is powered by strong 4GB RAM and a powerful Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset that runs on quad-core 2.1GHz processor. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 runs on Android 5.1 system and 3,000 mAH battery capacity.

Also released at the same time with the Galaxy Note 5 is the Galaxy S6 Edge+ with a curved screen and updated specs from the previous Galaxy S6 Edge

Coming with 5.7 but “only” equipped with 3,000 mAH battery, many doubt that this is not enough to power the Galaxy Note 5. Actually, despite reputation about high-quality camera sensors, Samsung products usually receive so-so feed backs about battery life.

Surprisingly, contrast to what many think, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 battery life are as long as 9 hours 29 minutes and 9 hour 11 minutes respectively. Both Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 battery life are ranked excellent. To give you a better sense of comparison, the LG G4, while also packs 3,000 mAH, ranked last on the list with only 6 hours and 6 minutes of battery life.

Now let’s move to the second criterion of Galaxy Note 5 battery: charging time. Battery charging time is also one an important element users care about when using a device, as it can make life much more or less convenient.

From the second figure, we can see that Asus Zenfone 2 is leading with only 58 minutes to fully charge the battery. Ranked as second best, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 battery only needs 81 minutes to go up to 100% full. This is even less than 1 hour and a half, and is quite idea for any busy users.

After a while being at the center of attention, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has currently received negative comments about when announced the lack of microSD card slot. This time of the year seems to be a mad competition between chipsets, with Xiaomi’s new chipset, Mediatek Helio X30, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, and even the next Apple chip will be coming to the market. Which chipset will be the best? The answer does not lie in the chipset itself, but the phone it will be equipped in. If the phone has a well-rounded customization with its specs, then the chipset will win. If the phone is just another normal device, the chipset will not save anything. Therefore, until now nothing can really be said yet.

Though this chipset is not released yet, we hope there will be a generation of chipsets that cost low and performs significantly. Moreover, it would be marvelous if more and more great devices such as Asus Zenfone 2 and its rivals to come to the market.
