Uncharted 4 wins big at BAFTA 2017!

Another prestigious game award has gone to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. At the BAFTA event this year, the game has picked up the biggest award: Best Game. This is a huge achievement for the game, as well as Naughty Dog, the developer. It also reflects the quality of the game, which is considered among the best gaming has to offer. The other nominees for the Best Game award were Firewatch, Inside, Overwatch, Stardew Valley, and Titanfall 2. This year’s line up is very solid, and ultimately Uncharted 4 got the most votes.

Although Naughty Dog’s game took the first and biggest prize, the game Inside, from developer Playdead, took the most awards. It brought home four achievements: Artistic Achievement, Game Design, Narrative, and Original Property. Another game, Overcooked, picked up two awards for Best British Game and Best Family Game. Meanwhile, the AMD eSports Audience Award was won by Clash Royale, a very successful mobile game, from the same developer as Clash of Clans. It beat out other nominees like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Street Fighter V.

In the Multiplayer department, Overwatch took home the Best Multiplayer award. This is not a surprise, since the game has been a tremendous success (it got its own Game of the Year Award last year). For Mobile Game, Pokemon Go came out on top. BAFTA also awarded The Last Guardian with Audio Achievement, while granted the Music award to mystery adventure game Virginia. Last but not least, game designer Brenda Romero was awarded the Special Award for her contribution and creativity for the industry.
