Apparently, big screens on smartphones looks like to be trendy today. It helps users feel more comfortable in reading newspaper, playing game, creating documents, etc. While it definitely brings some above pros, there still raised some cons too: difficulty to use it on one hand. Unless you have big hands, it’s quite hard to move your thumb across the whole big screen of a Mi3 or Mi4. But now, you don’t need to think of that problem anymore! Because there is a good solution for that. Xiaomi published a MIUI 6 Update to solve this trouble..

MIUI 6 is incorporated with a “small screen mode” for one hand operations. On allowing this mode, the display instantly squeezes into a 3.5-inch display which is better in using, with no change in screen quality, specially for users with smaller hands. There’s no toggles to press to enable this feature, everything is done via capacitive buttons below the screen.

How to switch to One-handed mode on Mi 3 and Mi 4

To enable one-handed operation in MIUI 6 ROM, pls kindly follow up this following introduction step by step and try it.

1. Have an overlook the capacitive buttons below your Xiaomi Mi 3/Mi 4 smartphone screens

 

2. Press the Home button, and then swipe towards the Back button, to enable one handed operation on the right side

3. Left-handers also get to use the one-handed functionality, by swiping (as described in Step 2) towards the left

4. To disable the feature, just swipe again towards either direction (left or right)
