According to our sources, Vivo has quietly launched a new smartphone in the Indian market to expand its portfolio in India with the Vivo Y83. In details, the smartphone was initially launched in China, its home country, last week. As far as it concerns, the smartphone comes with the full-screen display to mid-range segment. In general, the handset features a 6.22-inch HD+ display (1520 x 720 pixels), 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch on top.

Under the hood, Vivo Y83 specs include the MediaTek’s Helio P22 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. Besides, the hardware shares an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 650 MHz. In details, the chip features Mediatek’s Neuropilot tech which supports TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe, and Caffe2. Also, the company decided to offer Face Unlock feature called Face Access 2.0 instead of the fingerprint reader.

On the other hand, the phone packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Besides, there’s also a microSD card slot, which enables users to expand the storage capacity up to 256GB. Regarding the camera department, the Vivo Y83 features a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. Whereas, there’s an 8MP front snapper integrated with artificial intelligence and face recognition algorithm. Moreover, the selfie shooter supports features such as AI Makeup and customised beauty effects. Also, the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on FunTouch OS 4.0 and a 3,260mAh battery.
