The ad, which was apparently sponsored for a mobile game, asked Snapchat users if they would rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown. In a statement to BBC, the company said that the ad was &#8220;reviewed and approved in error.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But pop star Rihanna doesn&#8217;t seem to be impressed by what the company has to say. Furthermore, several of them said that they would uninstall the app from their phones. And still the story doesn&#8217;t end there. Investors also took sides as Snapchat parent SNAP saw its stock slide as much as 5% to hit a low of $16.91. Before rebounding to close at $17.20, off 3.6% on the day.<\/p>\n<h4>Quick backstory on\u00a0Snapchat&#8217;s situation<\/h4>\n<p>In an infamous picture after the assault, Rihanna, who was then 22, was seen with a black eye, bloody lips, and cuts on her forehead \u2014 all at the hands of her then-boyfriend rapper Chris Brown. In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to the assault and paid a fine and did community service. The selloff in Snap shares is the second at the hands of a celebrity in less than a month.
