However, according to a new report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterpointresearch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Counterpoint Research<\/a>, Apple has managed to overthrow Samsung&#8217;s latest flagship to take the crown! During May, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus dropped down into second place with a global market share of 2.4%. Surprisingly, the Apple iPhone 8 model is back in the game after placing at the 5th place during April.<\/p>\n<p>Based on our research, the biggest reason for the rise is the successful marketing campaigns in Europe, as well as strong demand over in the US. On the other hand, it seems like Apple still has more strong candidates for the race. Notably, Apple\u2019s flagship iPhone X maintained its 3rd place spot with a market share of 2.3%. Meanwhile, the massive iPhone 8 Plus settled for 5th with 2.1% overall. In fact, the low-cost manufacturer took the 4th place with the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Moreover, they grew their global share by a considerable 0.7% to 2.2%. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (known as the Note 5 in specific markets) also placed at 9th position.
