Xiaomi Mi 5X is an Android One phone: 5.5 full HD, 4GB RAM, dual 12MP

Do you feel ripped off when Xiaomi released the Mi A1 that runs a stock android? Well, there is yet hope. Someone made Xiaomi Mi 5X Android One port.

Xiaomi Mi 5X specs: dual 12MP cam

At first, the device looks very pristine somehow. Full metal frame and flat back that goes just in line with the trend. Slightly raised circles metallic circles to indicate the camera and the fingerprint scanner. It wouldn’t be far off to say this phone might be a long lost cousin of the OnePlus 5. And yet, this is a budget device. By some incredible engineering magic, we arrive at a budget phone that has the impression of a flagship.

And if you are thinking about trade-off like performance traded for a better look on this phone, you are wrong. This device has a specs sheet that looks too good for the budget segment. The Xiaomi Mi 5X features a 5.5-inch screen that renders in HD resolution. A Snapdragon 625 chipset that runs an octa-cores CPU. Only one memory option that is 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. A MicroSD card slot is available should you need to expand up to 128GB.

And that is not even the end of the good stuff. The Xiaomi Mi 5X camera is a dual 12MP sensor on the back while the front shooter measures 5MP. The phone runs the Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS out of the box, but it is also on the list to receive the Android Oreo update. The Xiaomi Mi 5X price starts at about EUR 240 (~Rs. 18,360).

Xiaomi Mi 5X Android One port: Available but not official

For now, the official OS for the device is still the MIUI that has some deviation from the stock Android OS. However, the internet has blessed us once again with a custom ROM to port the Xiaomi version of the OS to a stock Android One.
