Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 promo pic has surfaced online today. But unlike previous leaks, this present one looks more authentic as it appears to be released by the company. Using a teaser, Xiaomi has also announced that the Mi Pad 4 tablet will not be offering a fingerprint sensor. Instead, the slate will be equipped with facial recognition to unlock the device. The brand says that the tablet will utilise artificial intelligence to conveniently scan, recognise and unlock the slate by simply looking at it.

Recent leaks suggest Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 specs could have an 8-inch display and 18:9 aspect ratio with possible 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution. It takes power from Snapdragon 660 chipset and possible 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage. Optics-wise, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 camera will feature one camera on the front and back. The rear cam will be a 13MP OmniVision OV13855 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. Up-front, there will be a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture.

Tablets are rarely judged for their camera capabilities because it tends to be the least used function on a large-sized device. However, an excellent front-facing camera is ideal for video calls. Lastly, we expect the Mi Pad 4 to draw a massive 7,000mAh power box and Android Oreo, like other previous tablets from Xiaomi.
