However, to make the battle fair, we decide to use the 4GB RAM version to compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Let’s start the battle. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 features a a 5.5-inch display with the aspect ratio at 18:9. The Nokia 8, on the other hand, sports a 5.3-inch QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Let’s analyze the hardware of these two devices. the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 specs include the Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4GB RAM under the hood. Moreover, the smartphone is likely to have three ROM versions: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. All three of versions are expandable. Alternatively, the Nokia 8 specs also contain a 4GB RAM but it now pairs with the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood. Also, along with 4GB RAM, HMD has adopted an expandable 64GB ROM for the flagship. In terms of energy, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 battery measures 4000 mAh, whereas the Nokia 8 battery is only 3090 mAh.

Speaking of the photography department, both handsets have the dual camera setup. The Nokia 8 camera system consists of two 13MP sensors (f/2.0) on the rear and another 13MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter at the front. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 camera is comprised of  a combo of 16MP + 5MP at the back of the phone. Nevertheless, there’s no information about the resolution of the front camera.

The Nokia 8 price starts at Rs. 36999 (about $568). At the moment, there’s no official Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 price, however, we expect it is going to be around $150 (roughly Rs. 9782).
