Earlier today, the ZTE’s event invite has promised “New Axon, New 5G flagship” without clarifying if that would be the same unit or two separate phones. According to the teaser, it says “5G speeds” and “bow down to performance” with stylized 855 in the middle. Perhaps, the upcoming device would be a new Axon or an entirely new series of devices. Whereas, ZTE Technology has started investing in 5G connectivity.

As we learned, the company received a huge fine by the US over breaking a trade embargo after saving itself from bankruptcy. Moreover, its brand Nubia would also host an event at MWC 2019 with a curved-screen device and a foldable smartphone. Yesterday, ZTE Mobile officially confirmed that a new generation of flagship Axon. As a result, the ZTE flagship supports 5G networks and Snapdragon 855 mobile platform.

As from this poster, the details of the phone are not displayed. However, the shape and details would be announced at the Mobile Communication Exhibition in Barcelona on February 25. On the other side, the test adopts the 5G overall solution including end-to-end products. From what we learned, the products consist of three networks (wireless access, core, and transmission bearer) and intelligent terminal. Then, the 5G smart terminal used was the world’s first prototype of the ZTE 5G smartphone. Also, the device would be able to provide both the sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G mainstream bands.
