Samsung and LG flagships to feature “sound-emitting OLED display” soon!!!
After full-screen and bezel-less, Samsung and LG seem to be the pioneer with the new trend for smartphone screen panel. In details, both manufacturers have showcased to feature the sound-emitting OLED display on their next release (LG G8 and Galaxy S10). Check it out below!

Samsung, LG would feature sound-emitting OLED display
According to our legit sources, an interesting sound-emitting display concept by Samsung just got our attention. In details, the company has showcased the display at the Society of Information Displays (SID) 2018 expo last month. From the video, Samsung representative explains how a panel works. In details, the screen uses vibration and bone conduction to negate the need for an earpiece and help extend the screen all the way from top to bottom.
Moreover, they also come with a “Sound on Display” tech prototype, which we hope to see on the Samsung Galaxy S10 display. Whereas, the publication states that both Samsung and LG are ready to commercialise their sound-emitting OLED displays in flagship phones next year. Furthermore, the source pegs the size of Samsung’s screen in question – 6.2 inches (same as S9+). Therefore, we hope the brand to introduce an edge-to-edge Galaxy S10.
As far as it concerns, the transmission bandwidth is said to be in the 100 ~ 8000 Hz range. Moreover, you would hear the sound if you put your ear to a reasonably wide area at the top half of the screen thanks to the great vibrations. Also, Samsung also demonstrates a touchscreen panel that can work underwater. Earlier, Vivo just announced the NEX phone the same technology called “Screen SoundCasting”. On the other hand, LG already has a product with a sound-emitting screen on the market called “Crystal Sound”. In details, the new LG screen would be first applied on OLED TVs, LED lights and smartphones later.
Is “sound-emitting OLED display” good?
As the trend of bezel-less screen passed by, we will see more advanced technology on smartphone displays in the future including infinity, foldable or sound-emitting OLED screen. The new technology helps to conserve power, reduce sound leakage, and optimise low. As a result, the smartphone user receives a high pitch sound for a better and more balanced audio experience. Apple iOS 11.4 with battery drain issue
To recap, Apple released the iOS 11.4 update last month. The update includes many new features and changes, but it appears to have brought along a serious problem. A large number of users who downloaded the new version iOS 11.4 are complaining about rapid battery drain issue. Besides, there are several threads discussing the problem on Apple’s official forum. That means a thousand users have confirmed the same issue with their unit.
One account shared: “My iPhone 6s has the same issue after updating to iOS 11.4. I charged it up to 100 per cent, rebooted it then let it standby for 4 hours, the battery indicator dropped to 40 per cent. It has been three days since I updated to ios 11.4 and this issue happened every day.” As a result, some people have suggested switching off the Wi-Fi. It does work in some cases, plus connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (instead of 5GHz) works for others.

However, several other users said none of these tricks worked for them. As a result, they had to roll back to the iOS 11.3.1 version, which made the battery life back to normal again. On a side note, Apple has released the upgraded iOS 12 not long ago. The new iOS is going to help make your Apple device feel faster than ever -particularly on older iPhones and iPads. With the new Apple iOS 12, the old iPhone 6 Plus can launch 40% more quickly. Moreover, the iPhone system keyboard reaches 50% increase in speed. Additionally, you can open the camera app 70% faster. HOT: Apple iPhone 2019 is going to arrive with USB Type-C!
Good news of the day: Apple is finally adopting USB type-C like the rest of the world! This new change is going to apply in their upcoming 2019 products. Keep reading for more details!

USB Type-C change in Apple iPhone 2019
Better late than never may be a proper expression to describe Apple’s recent decision to finally join the rest of the premium smartphone industry: adopting the USB Type-C port for charging and connectivity. Reportedly, Apple is redesigning chargers and related interface for its next-generation iPhone and iPad devices. And will likely have its 2019 series of iPhones come with USB Type-C support. According to sources at analogue IC vendors, the reason why we won’t see USB-C in any of this year’s models is that the company “is still in its redesign phase”.
Like the Lightning connector, USB-C ports are reversible. They also support the Thunderbolt standard, which offers a higher rate of data transfer, though applications of the standard on a mobile device are limited. Oddly, the report doesn’t go into specifics regarding whether USB-C will be applied on both ends of the iPhone cable, or just the one that goes into the charging brick/computer. It’s entirely reasonable that Apple would switch that end from USB-A over to USB-C; while leaving the Lightning port on the other end intact. Thus, making it is possible to continue reaping the benefits of accessory licensing.

On a side note, perhaps this is also the reason why Apple decided to decrease the price of their USB-C to Lightning cable not long ago. Although it’s quite rare for the company to reduce the prices of its accessories, Apple lowers down the cost of USB-C to Lightning cable from a whopping $25 to $19. You can read more about it HERE.
The possibility of USB Type-C in Apple products
At this point, it’s already pretty late in the 2018 iPhones’ development cycle. So it won’t be able to make the necessary changes in time, without possible production delays. In the end, we have a firm belief that this new change is going to happen sooner or later. Stay tuned with us for more updates!

Mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset surfaces on Geekbench!
Qualcomm seems to have more products kept under its sleeve than we think. Recently, Snapdragon 680 chipset has surfaced on Geekbench, targeting the mid-range market. Keep reading for more details!

Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 for mid-range smartphones
Put the Snapdragon 710 aside, Qualcomm seems to have more chipsets in the works. To be specific, a Snapdragon 680 was spotted in Geekbench, which will be gearing towards future mid-range smartphones. Like other products in the Snapdragon 600-series, the chip could be built on the 14nm process, and bear a 2+4-core setup or a direct 6-core setup. Apparently, it is true.
According to the listing, the Snapdragon 680’s CPU has six cores, which is likely a 2+4 configuration; as we’ve seen in the Snapdragon 650 and 808 version. But please keep in mind that its name/number might not stay the same. For example, the upcoming Snapdragon 710 was initially called 670. Regarding the performance, we believe this processor may be a parred down version of the 710.

The clock speed of the big cores – 2.15 GHz – matches both the Kryo 260 in the SnD 660 and the Kryo 4xx in the 710. However, the single core results (1,900) are higher than what the Snapdragon 660 scores (1,600), suggesting these are the new 4th generation Kryo cores. Besides, multi-core performance score is slightly lower than what the SnD 660 has. But it will likely make more of a difference in benchmarks than in real life use, where tasks rarely stress more than two cores at the same time.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 availability
All in all, this looks like an excellent follow-up to Qualcomm’s mid-range offerings. By the way, the test was done on a Qualcomm development platform (arm64) with 6 GB of RAM. No phones with this chipset have launched yet. Stay tuned with us for more updates regarding this new mid-range chipset!
