One-handed mode should be a must on flagships

Smartphones are commonplace nowadays. Overtime, they have even improved on usability to make it even more convenient for users. However, as screens get larger, the one-handed mode should be the norm!

One-handed mode should be a must on flagships

Having a smartphone is good. Recently, a smartphone can do almost anything that a person needs to, from checking emails, playing games, surfing the web, to more phone-like features: calling and texting. The screens of smartphones has been getting bigger and bigger as a result, to accommodate those needs. Nothing is wrong with big-sized screens. However, it is becoming harder to use the phones nowadays with just one hand, which was one of the intended use of a portable device!

Yes, that has become kind of a common dilemma for consumers. They (as well as us) want big screen for entertainment and other purposes, but also want to be able to operate the phone with one hand, for convenience. It is now harder to do so, as screens are getting bigger and bigger nowadays. Back in 2011, when the first Samsung Galaxy Note was unveiled, its screen size was considered big. Now, flash forward to 2017, its size is comparatively small in the market.

one-handed mode

This would not be much of an issue if we have more options. However, the only flagships usable with just one hand is Google Pixel (arguably) and iPhone 7 – and the 7 Plus is superior in many ways. So, a one-handed mode is necessary on flagships. It usually shrink your display to a fraction of its size, so that you can do everything with one hand. One-handed mode was already presented in Apple phones, and recently, the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ also. This should be a more prominent feature in flagships for convenience of customers!

One-handed mode: It should be a must now!

Bigger screen means having more to display, so interacting with one hand may be a bit difficult. Including one-handed mode may solve this problem, for good effect. What do you think about this issue?

lg g6 tips

LG G6 tips for first time users!

Firstly, LG G6 is different from other LG smartphones. Now the phone is taller (than most phones in fact). It has a 18:9 aspect ration, while most smartphones right now only uses 16:9. This means that you will get some extra space for apps. You may run into trouble with fullscreen apps, and you can fix that by adjusting the scale. To do so, when you are in a fullscreen app, swipe up to get the navigation buttons. Then tap the App Scaling button, and choose one option. If the app is misbehaving, put it in compatibility mode. You can also do it manually in Settings > Display > App Scaling ny choosing individual app.

Next is the camera. LG G6 has a very good camera. It has a dual lens system, where you can switch between the regular 13MP lens or the wide angle one on the go. However, when you first open the camera app, the primary camera is cropped to only 8.7MP to fill up the 18:9 display. You can change this setting by opening the Camera app, and then tap the Settings icon. Then, select Photo size, and from all the options, choose 4:3 (13MP). Now, you can use your G6 camera to its fullest potential!

lg g6 tips

Last but not least, you can boost the speed of your LG G6 even further. Now, the phone is by no means slow, but you can make it even faster and smoother. To do so, you need to speed up the animation. First, you need to enable Developer Options by going to Settings > About phone > Software info, then tap Build number 7 times so that you see a message “You are now a developer”. Now, back at Settings, you can see Developer options, go there and set these options to .5x: “Window animation”, “Transition animation”, and “Animator duration scale”. Now your LG G6 will run much faster!

LG G6 tips: For a better experience

With the LG G6 tips mentioned above, you will be able to enjoy your newly purchased LG smartphone to the fullest. Hopefully these will help enhance your experience!

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 display should be awarded as the most impressive for this year. The display comes with almost no edges or bezels, and of course no physical home button. The screen size is almost the same as the phone size. Therefore, its screen to body ratio is roughly 93%. We can expect the phone to sport a 6.4-inch shiny display. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 specs will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage and at least a 4,400mAh battery. For photography lovers, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 cameras could be dual main shooters and 8MP selfie camera.
