The American Dream: Performing simple tasks with guns!
We all know that having guns is allowed in the United States. Now, there is a funny game bout guns: The American Dream. In this game, you can do almost everything with guns, even for the simple tasks!
The American Dream: Performing simple tasks with guns!
Yes, this is not a joke! The game The American Dream is a very simple game, doing your daily life tasks from a first-person point of view. However, the special aspect is that, you do everything you would normally do with guns! To be more specific, you eat donuts with guns, do quality control works with guns, even going to the prom with guns. Those were some example of the menial tasks you do everyday, but you do them with guns in this game. This looks like a joke, but actually it is implemented quite cleverly within the context of the game.
The studio behind this game is Samurai Punk, which is based in Melbourne, Australia. This game is not actually about forming opinions on the gun laws of the USA. In fact, the goal is much more meta: in first-person shooter games, we can rarely do anything with guns besides shooting. Sometimes, we can only open doors or flick switches is by shooting them. This game takes that concept and implement it in a funny manner, yet also quite clever. In this game, we use guns as normally as we use other everyday tools for daily tasks.
The game is an amusing and interesting concept. What’s more, this game is available for VR. Of course, people may question whether The American Dream will work as a game, and on this platform. Answering this, Samurai Punk artist Nicholas McDonnell have shared that this is the bite-size game, and for now this type of game works best for the VR platform, due to its nature and some design restrictions for the VR. On other platform, this game would get boring quickly, and will not be as interesting as other games that require time investment. We sure hope that is true, because this game is really fun when playing in VR!
The American Dream: A nice game for VR
Overall, The American Dream is a nice game with a funny concept. It portrays in a clever and humorous way about ways to use guns non-violently. This game definitely deserves a chance from VR players! The game is slated for launch in 2017.
Titanfall 2 sale is already on now!
Having been released only recently, the game Titanfall 2 sale is now already on! Although this may point to bad sales, the discount is great news for players!

Titanfall 2 sale is already on now!
Titanfall 2 was just released on October 28. The game is available on the 3 most popular platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The release date of the game is less than ideal, coming between the release of two most anticipated games of the holiday, Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. However, the game still has its own flavor, and thus deserves a chance from players. Now, the game is on sale already, and this is good news for gamers!
Titanfall 2 is an excellent shooting game, let’s make that clear. However, even though it was released only a few weeks ago, now you can buy the game at a little more than half the initial price: $33 (the initial price was $60). Not many games do this, and such a huge discount may point to bad sales of the game, which is a worrying sign. Earlier, ince Zampella, CEO of Respawn – the developer of the game – has shared that it would be too early to tell if a third Titanfall will hit the market. Those are not good news for the franchise.

Well, that is for the company to worry about. Players can get access to the game at almost half the price now, which is a very good deal for an AAA game. There are two ways to purchase: via Origin, or Amazon. For the Origin version, it is just plain digital. The Amazon version is a physical box, which – hilariously – also contains an Origin code. That means either way, you need to download the game from Origin. However, buying the Amazon version will get you a box, if collecting is your hobby. You can order on Origin here, and Amazon here.
Titanfall 2 sale: Uncertain future for the franchise
Players may rejoice at the steep discount of Titanfall 2, but it is indeed an uncertain future for the franchise. Hopefully everything will turn out well for the series, as Titanfall 2 is a very good game!

More Chinese Android smartphones infected with spywares!
A few days ago, a Chinese technology company, called Shanghai Adups Technology, has admitted that it has installed spywares on 700 million Chinese smartphones. The piece of news has hit the technology world very hard. Although China is known to have serious security issues before, this incident again has raised an alarm about the problem of mobile security. Technology evolves everyday, and so do viruses, malwares and spywares!
About the mentioned spyware, it will install third party apps on the affected devices, bypassing the phone’s security and without users’ consent, as reported by Kryptowire. After that, the installed app will gather the phone’s data, ranging from call logs, IMEI, phone numbers, contact lists, SMS, etc. and send them back to the servers in Shanghai, China. What the company will do to the data, no one knows. Shanghai Adups Technology has denied any accusation of shady use of the gathered data, stating that it does not share with government or any other organizations.

One of the identified phones that are affected is the HD R1 of the brand Blu. After the news of the spyware is out, Blu has also admitted that more phones of the brand have also been infected. Those includes Energy X Plus 2, Studio Touch, Advance 4.0 L2, Neo XL and Energy Diamond. At the very least, Blu has quickly released an update to uninstall the spyware. However, the damage has been done, and once again Chinese smartphones are being questioned again. Remember, many more Chinese Android smartphones are vulnerable to such attacks.
Infected Chinese Android smartphones: Another warning!
With what has happened, it is time we must take mobile security seriously. You must know how to use smartphones safely. You should only install authentic apps, and scan regularly with authentic security softwares. You shouldn’t click on strange links either. Those are the least you can do to protect your security!

China’s mobile security incidents: Beware of malware!
China has been a place of cheap smartphones. They offered phones at very low price, but with respectable specs. However, the number of China’s mobile security incidents is also alarmingly high. Here are some notable ones!

1. Recent information leak
As reported, recently there have been reports of Android smartphones sending users’ data back to a main server in China. Security researchers have found this issue, and have put up a warning for customers. The exact number of affected devices is unknown. However, it is estimated that millions of Android smartphones produced by Chinese brands can be at risk. One notable example is Blu, which admitted that over 120,000 devices has been affected, and the company has since released an update to patch the security issue.
The security flaw in question has been sending users’ location, contact lists, and the full text messages on their phones to a location in China. The pre-installed firmware can also collect and transmit information about the apps installed, and even modify them. Worse, it can even download and install apps remotely, bypassing the phones’ security. All this is done without the users’ consent or knowing. This is the latest of China’s mobile security incidents, that you need to be careful of.

2. HummingBad Android malware
Only earlier this year, it is estimated that as many as 10 million Android devices are infected with the HummingBad malware. Another 85 million Android devices are vulnerable to this malware attack. On the surface, the malware looks just like a “click fraud” – tricking customers to click on an ad. However, the malware then will have access to the phone’s system, and the entire phone is at the mercy of the attacker. At the least, the malware will send the data of the phones to a company in China. This is yet another serious security incident coming from this country.

3. Android.Bgserv
A while back, there was a malware named DroidDream, and Google successfully neutralize the threats, by issuing a clean-up tool for infected devices. However, soon they will have to deal with another: the Android.Bgserv. The author of this malware was smart: using the hype of the clean-up tool, they also release the same tool as well, but with the malware attached. This malware stole the phone’s data such as the IMEI number and the phone number, and then sent the data to a server in China. This is also a serious one of China’s mobile security incidents.

4. DroidKungFu
Back when this was discovered, the DroidKungFu used a brand new attack: sending malware via an update. The malware creator somehow managed to force his way into the Google Store with a legitimate app, and once enough people have installed it, the malware will be distributed via an over-the-air update. This update attack was then called DroidKungFu. It was developed in China, and security experts caught sight of it. Fortunately, Google was notified in time, and dealt with the threat before any big damage was done.

5. Spyware preloaded on cheap Android smartphones
This is perhaps the most common tactic of getting users’ information. By preloading a phone with a harmful software at sale, few customers are going to suspect it. It is more dangerous from cheap smartphones, as people are easily swayed by the cheap price. In 2014, a big numbers of cheap smartphones from China were found to have these spyware pre-installed. The spyware could steal users’ data, and then send the information back to a Chinese server. Also, many of those cheap phones are sold via respected online vendors! This case wraps up the list of notable China’s mobile security incidents.

China’s mobile security incidents: Beware of malware!
Chinese phones can be cheap while having wonderful specs. However, if you are not careful, you will have severe mobile security risks. Only buy from trusted brands, don’t click on strange links or install apps not from the Google Store, and run security checks with a dedicated security app.
System Shock Remastered to arrive in 2018!
A System Shock Remastered version has been revealed for a while now. Initially, it was slated for a late 2017 release. However, we may only see the game in 2018, as recent reports said!

System Shock Remastered to arrive in 2018!
System Shock is a very good game. It was highly praised upon release for its nice visuals, and a pretty innovative take on first-person shooter gameplay. Despite the game having been out for a while, and there have been many discount period, players still refrain from buying the game. It is because of the supposedly release of the System Shock Remastered. However, hose players will have to wait a little bit more, because the game’s release date has been pushed back to 2018.
This remake is actually a Kickstarter project, and since announced, it was very well-received. It has passed its Kickstarter goal a few months ago. At first, the game was planned to be release in December 2017. However, the date has been pushed back until Q2 of 2018. This piece of information has been updated on the Kickstarter page. This may be caused by estimation of the developers, as they need to have more time to work on other aspects of the game, or just Kickstarter’s estimation being cautious.

However, this news is not really surprising, considering that the development team as just started working on the “vertical slice” of the game. That means polishing what the prototype has been, to make it looks better. Only then will they move on to the campaigns aspect of the game. In any case, for now all we have to do is wait. Hopefully the developers can have the time they need with this change of date, in order to deliver a wonderful game to players.
System Shock Remastered: Much to look out for!
Even though we still have to wait for more than one year, this remastered version of System is still worth waiting for. Hopefully the development team can translate what was great about the original game into this new remastered version.

Ubisoft games will be less heavily scripted!
Ubisoft has released a lot of games with very memorable stories. However, that may change soon, as the company has decided that its games in the future will be less narrative. In a recent interview, Ubisoft’s chief creative officer, Serge Hascoet, has shared this very sentiment. He wanted the players to have more freedom in creating moments inside game, and can make their choices.
Basically, the games will still have a story, but players will have more of an input as how the game goes. We can see the early steps of this in recent releases, such as Watch Dogs and Far Cry. The more freedom the players has, the more unexpected events will occur, said Hascoet. The company simply wants players to fully express themselves, create those moments, and share them with friends. That’s what the company wants to achieve in future installments.

Hascoet also revealed that the next game to fully embrace this mentality will be the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game has been designed in such a way that, every action the players do will not be short-term, but will have lasting impact. Basically, their decisions can change the outcome. Putting it like this, we can expect multiple endings to the game based on our in-game actions. It remains to be seen whether this change of direction will benefit the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and the company as a whole.
Ubisoft games: Gearing towards players’ choices
With this change in direction, we can expect future games from Ubisoft to be more player-centric. Decisions made by players will have long-term impact on the game. Are you looking forward to these changes?
