Note 7 death: The consequences

The first recall of Note 7 has already made the Korean brand lose at least 5 billion USD. However, that number doesn’t stop there. After units of Note 7 replacement exploded, the brand decided to end up the production of Note 7. That shutdown has cost the brand a huge sum of money, reportedly more than 17 billion USD, according to analysists. Although the brand can totally afford that loss, it will be a big challenge for Samsung to win back customer trust, as well as to continue “fighting” against Apple in the smartphone industry.

Note 7 death does not only damage Samsung’s financial status. It also indirectly helps increase the sales of iPhone 7! Brian White – Drexel Hamilton analyst, has estimated that around 57% to 80% of expected Note 7 sales (which is from 10 million to 14 million) will now belong to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In other words, around 8 million more iPhone units will be purchased.

He also shared that even if there were no Note 7 death, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus would be still the best sellers in many markets, including China. White has conducted market researches with 30 retailers in Shenzhen, China and noticed that Apple iPhone is now the front runner in terms of sales.

“Is Final Fantasy XV coming to PC?” This may be one of the most asked question regarding this game from Square Enix. The developer has always left it as vague as “Maybe!”. However, there are always speculations about this. Back in February, some piece of code from the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered website was found, raising the issue of a PC port. Recently, in an interview with Vida Extra, he game’s director Hajime Tabata has shed some light on the matter.

In that interview, Tabata said that if Square is to make a Final Fantasy XV PC version, they would make a bit of changes compared to what the game offers on console. He emphasized that doing so would take more than a year. It is because Square have to adapt the game to the engine, which is certainly hard work, and go on from there.

This takes us back to an April interview, when director Tabata was also asked about Final Fantasy XV PC port. He stated that he had in his mind a “more technically developed” version of the game for PC, including extra contents and features that consoles do not have. Tabata stated that it would be way better in terms of quality and tech. However, the problem would be Square having to start from scratch, first by deciding what technology to implement.

An image claimed to be of Sombra has been posted to Imgur, Gyazo, and DeviantArt. It is reported to be taken from an internal website of Blizzard. She is labeled “one of the world’s best and most notorious hackers”. The internal website of Blizzard said that Sombra would hack her way into the build later. Of course, unless the developer is making another game, this seems to be Sombra in the flesh.

Sombra’s design is special too. She seems to hold a submachine gun and wear some type of special gloves. About her bio, she used to work for a Mexican gang, the Los Muertos, until she became wanted y many that she had to go underground.
