Samsung Galaxy Blade Edge: The First Smart Knife in the world?
Samsung Galaxy Blade Edge – the perfect combination between a smartphone and a knife.
Yesterday, on April Fool Day, in official Samsung website, Samsung was unveiled their first world’s smart knife with smartphone capabilities, namely the Galaxy BLADE edge. More interesting, the phone is exactly the “edge-display variant of the Galaxy S6”. Therefore the phone packs the same inside specs as the incredible Galaxy S6 and even running Android with Touchwiz, but a super sharp edge that potentially serve as a chef’s knife.
This is the perfect, modern option for many cookers, housewifes in the kitchen in future?
The question is “possible” thanks to “the razor-sharp diamond edge and special ceramic that’s tough enough to cut through a lobster tail and sharp enough to slice though tender heirloom tomatoes”. Sammy said that the “knife” can cut up to 50% faster than traditional knives.
Its device is really a smart knife, packed with many smart features such as the fingerprint scanner on the home button and the BLADE’s finger-detection mechanism will be activated in order to avoid you cut yourself. Besides, a human blood sensor is also available, blocking the product from being used in violent situations.
After published article in Samsung Tomorrow, many positive comments from readers praise interesting idea even when most people understand this is the joke of the day by Samsung.
What do you think of Samsung’s April Fools smart knife? I myself admit that the device is pretty awesome, even if such a product would be definitely “too good to be true”. But wait, we’re talking about Sammy – Korean giant smartphone manufacturer so hopefully Samsung will launch a similar product in the future. And no matter what, this is a beautiful “innovative idea” (even in April Food day).

Here are first official renders of Huawei P8 Lite from a Huawei’s distributor
We are waiting for the official appearance of Huawei P8 in Huawei’s press event on April 15. But it hihgly seems that we will possibly see another device alongside the P8 on that occasion.
We reported about the smaller model P8 Lite previously which spotted in TENAA. Therein, the phone still keep the similar looks of the high-end flagship P8 but come with compacter, lesser specs and a more attractive price tag.
The renders reportedly started from an un-known European distributor partnered with Huawei. A Twitter user @Roland Quandt revealed 4 renders in his account. However, needless to notice that the renders could also be worthless cuz this are probably fan-made products based on those firstly mentioned TENAA photos, there’s no way to verify the authenticity right now.
Anyway, from the renders, we see a metal body for the device along with two color versions though but we guess that there may be more of course.
Besides, the aforementioned source tells us that the P8 Lite will have dual-SIM support and a price tag of €250 which can be translated into PHP 12025 at the current currency rate (without contract, apparently).
We don’t have official announcement of the phone well, so what we know so far come from the previous report. The device could be equipped with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, a 1.2 GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear camera as well as a 5 MP selfie shooter. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Huawei’s own Emotion UI on top. Logically, it will support mobile Unicom’s 2G / 3G / 4G networks with a measurement of 143 × 70.6 × 7.7mm and a weigh of 131 grams.

Cherry Mobile to buy Blackberry, “Cherry Berry” for future devices
Cherry Mobile is the most famous smartphone brand with the largest shipment in 2014 in Phi. Cherry Mobile have been witnessing huge outreach years over years. The company, no doubt, has been showing us a remarkable ambition to lead not only the local market but also internationally. Amazingly, Cosmic Technologies, owner of the Cherry Mobile brand in the Philippines, has announced that they are buying into past well-known phone maker BlackBerry for an estimated $780 Million (or Php33.75 billion).
Being the leader of smartphone industrial market with the highest market share of smartphones in the Philippines, it is estimated that Cherry Mobile sold roughly 8.8 million devices in 2014 while strong direct competition MyPhone, which is now on the third position, estimatedly shipped 4.5 million that same year.
BlackBerry is now maintaing a good position with many loyal customers. So, it is seemingly the reason why Cosmic Technologies will still keep the BlackBerry label in the United States and Europe for sure but hopefully re-brand itself in the Philippines and other countries of South East Asia. According to Cherry Mobile, we probably see many smartphones products under the brand “Cherry Berry”. They also emphasized that future mobile devices feature not only affordable specs but also top notch security that BlackBerry is known for.
Although the acquisition is still ongoing but it is expected to be done by late 2015 or early 2016. Therefore, the first Cherry Berry handsets are hopefully to be released by then.
Huawei P8 passed through TENAA approval – Arrives on April 15th
March is over, today is the first day of April, meaning that there is only two weeks ahead for our much-awaited Huawei P8. The phone is much more closer with the official appearance on the TENAA database.
Thanks to the certification of Huawei P8 on TENAA, so we get some specific detail of the phone so far. But it seems that most of previous rumors likely gave us the right info. If you had followed the leaks, reports then you will know that the device, without doubt, comes with a 5.2-inch display, and a Hisilicon processor (supposed to come with powerful Kirin 930). Well looking at the TENAA specification that’s exactly what find along with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory which easily expand space via a micro SD card onboard.
The body listed six different variants of the P8, the HUAWEI ALE-TL00, HUAWEI GRA-UL00, HUAWEI GRA-UL10, HUAWEI GRA-CL10, HUAWEI GRA-TL00 and the HUAWEI GRA-CL00. All are initially the same device aside from three of them being carrier variants with specific LTE 4G connections.
Anything much more interesting? The P8 will report 13MP main camera along with dual LED flash. While we previously thought that the phone will come with dual – 8MP camera as Huawei Honor 6 Plus but it seems that it’s not matched with our expectation? Besides, the phone will run on the modern Android Lollipop well.
The official launch is scheduled on April 15, around 2 weeks away. We can able to see the smaller version of Huawei P8 – Huawei P8 Lite alongside in the upcoming event.

Android Lollipop Upgrade for Asus Zenfone 4,5 and 6
Well, we have good news for Asus Zenfone users. Asus released the Zenfone 4,5 and 6 smartphones in spring last year. While the phone still sell well, the phone will not be updated when it comes to software.
As you probably know, all Zenfone smartphones were launched last year and run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out of the box. While Asus took a promise to deliver an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, there are no words about an upgrade of the latest Android Lollipop from the company so far.
But, it is definitely a good news for us when we hear that the company is now testing Android 5.0 Lollipop update for their there released Asus Zenfone smartphones, including: Asus Zenfone 4,5 and 6. But, the first upgrade generation of Zenfone handset have started testing in Taiwan already and only a limited amount of Zenfone owners are receiving the update at the time.
It means that the update will now available in a selected groups of Zenfone owners who previously registered for the beta testing. After that, they will give back Asus their feedback.
If everything is going well without no troubles, we will possibly get the new update of Android 5.0 Lollipop for our Zenfone soon, probably some next couples of weeks.
And, the good news will go much better than our expectation, Asus is now having plans to update the same Android 5.0 Lollpop for PadFine S and the new PadFone Infinity someday in April and June, in respectively.
Finally, hopefully the source is reliable, so the Android 5.0 Lollipop will arrive with not many bugs like KitKat update sometime ago.
We will search more for any additional details on Android 5.0 Lollipop update, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
