DESIGN

If you seen the Huawei Honor 6, you will probably find some similarities between them in someway. Especially in the rectangular design with round corners, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus is still succeeded in maintaining the beautiful spec of its predecessor. Besides that, although the Huawei Honor 6 Plus have a larger screen, 5.5″, but it is still at the same thickness compared to the Honor 6, at 7.5mm. In addition, Huawei Honor 6 Plus come with black glass design of the Honor 6, and has a metallic bodies.

As we mentioned you before, Huawei targeted to enter UK market with the brand the Honor. So, it’s easy-to-understand why you can only see the Honor brand in back of the phone. The Huawei logo is printed nowhere.

DISPLAY

The Honor 6 Plus features a 5.5″ screen along with a resolution of 1920×1080. This 1080p is now appearing in other high-end smartphone. Although its display is only 2K but the megapixel density of 401 ppi which is great for a phone with this size. But after all, it’s necessary idea for increasing the phone’s battery capacity.

The LCD screen appears rich in colors and vibrant and there is no noticeable pixels on the screen. So, in short time, you can not see any issues with the Honor 6 Plus and videos and pictures is good quality, too.

HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE

Specs-wise, the Honor 6 Plus is installed with full of good stuff. It is powered by Kirin 925 octa-core processor, in a “big.LITTLE” configuration. Meaning, it has eight – core processor (four ARM Cortex-A7 and four Cortex-A15) in attempt to save power. In general, Kirin 925 performance is quite good. Your phone will not be heated easily when using basically, such as: listening music, making phone calls or internet surfing. But, it can be heated a little when using more heavily.

Gaming performance is good. The phone handled racing games as well as first person running games like Subway Surfer without any glitches. Kirin 925 and Mali T628MP4 handled everything thrown at it with ease. So, gaming experience is smooth and there is no visible lag.

Additionally, its phone comes with 3GB RAM, a good battery capacity of 3600 mAh as well as 32 GB internal storage with support for up to 128GB of microSD storage. The processor is mated with 3GB RAM to provide a smooth multitasking experience. Honor 6 supports a number of network bands such as TD-LTE / FDD-LTE / WCDMA / GSM. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with Emotion 3.0 UI.

CAMERA

The most outstanding of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus is dual-rear camera at the same 8MP. You can find dual-main camera on HTC M8, but this phone obviously takes many advantages. These two cameras work together to capture individual 8MP and then the software stitches them together to form an 13MP end resolution picture. Its phone have impressive low light performance, thanks to the two cameras at the back which keep lighter than a single sensor. Although there is a 8MP front-facing camera, can be great choice for selfie lovers, but it lacks of the dual camera setup. But, no need to worry, cuz the 88 degrees wide angle lens matched on it which captures much more space than traditional secondary cameras.

OUTLOOK

The Huawei Honor 6 Plus will be published firstly in China in black, white and gold color for the 4G variant for around $400, £260 and PHP 17884. At more cheaper price is the 3G variant, which is cost at $ 325, £200 or PHP 14531. Honestly, we don’t still get any information about its date launch outside China yet. But for sure that the company have big ambition to roll the phone out to the rest of the world. So, it means that you will get on your hand this phone in the feature.

Although, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note is no loger a new smartphone from the Chinese vendor. But honestly, with an impressive price with acceptable features, we want to give you an overall look about it.

While you maybe think that, Xiaomi would have to make a bunch of compromises to fit with the low price, i guess that this isn’t. The Redmi Note is amazing packed full of useful features. Needless to say about 13 megapixel camera as well as 5.5″ IPS 720p display.

The Pros: A vibrant display, a sharp camera, dual-SIM capability, and an easy-to-understand surface

The Cons The Redmi Note runs the old Android Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, instead of Android 4.4 Kitkat), and the glossy plastic back feels oily after usesage, no 4G LTE.

Design

It is seemingly a little heavy: 7 ounces (199 grams). And maybe you can meet some difficulties in holding it in one hand. The 5.5-inch 720p display is bright and vibrant. The colors are crisp, but visibility is gradually affected due to the reflective screen under the sunlight.

Compared to the LG G3, at the same screen size, but the Redmi Xiaomi Note is highly lager. And we can have a feeling that it’s no need to have a large screen like that. But it’s not fare comparision. Cuz the LG G3 is a top-line-smartphone. And the Xiaomi Redmi Note is priced at super-cheap price. And if at the same price with the LG G3, maybe Xiaomi will do a better job.

Clad in glossy white plastic, the phone feels just similar to any other plastic phone on the market. The choice of color is a good one, as it helps to hide the inevitable fingerprint smudges you’d expect from glossy surfaces, too. And with a lot of colors, this phone is a good choice for the young.

Camera

While it isn’t supported built-in optical image stabilization, the main 13-megapixel camera is as fast as those in most high-end devices. However, the camera lacks a backside-illuminated sensor, so in low conditions, may be the photos is not really good as expected. The front shooter packs 5 megapixels for the selfie lovers, but there is no wide-angle lens, so your circumference is probably limited.

About the picture quality, I found pictures to have alot of detail. I personally liked the macro shots, which had a good -looking depth of field. Like the Mi 3’s camera, the Note’s keeps it simple without any special tricks, but comes with the standard slew of filters, panorama mode, and HDR.

Performance

Generally, the Note is powered by a 3,200mAh battery and runs off a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. Internal storage is limited to a mere 8GB but fortunately, the phone has a microSD card slot for another 32GB of space.

The Note, like the Huawei Honor 3 X, is packed a “true” eight-core processor. Unlike Samsung’s Exynos octa-core processors, which have a “4+4” configuration in a bid to slower cores to save power when heavy usage, the MediaTek MT6592 uses all eight cores at the same moment.

Like all the rest phone of Xiaomi, the Note arrives with MIUI, which is Xiaomi’s take on the Android operating system.In this situation, Android 4.2.2 instead of the newest, Android 4.4 KitKat. One of the included features is drawerless home screens takes inspiration from iOS. This means all apps appear right on the home screen.

Mystery Meizu’s Blue Charm smartphone have been making the highlights for couple of days ago. On 23th Dec, Meizu is organizing an event in order to announce two new affordable handsets. One of them frankly come with the name “Blue Charm Note”, which evokes curiously and reminds us of Huawei and its Honor range. Its phone will feature a 5.5″ touch screen. The Meizu Blue Charm is probably the strong direct rival of the Xiaomi Redmi Note.

The other has the codename K52 or the Blue Charm, can be shown in the above image, not sure for exactly name. Its phone will arrive with a screen of 4.6″ or 4.7″ along with 1080p touchscreen. As you can see in the above pics, there are two dots in the Sim icons, so its phone may be support dual-SIM. The Blue Charm Note will have an aspect ratio of 16:9.

If everything go well, the newest phone of Meizu will power by MT6752 64-bit with a 1.7 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and LTE. Moreover, some additional feature is 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

The Blue Charm range is predicted to get bright colors for the back covers, may be red, white, yellow, green and blue. The Indian market is never an easy market for smartphone vendor to enter. Recently, we heard that Xiaomi was banned to sell devices in India by the Delhi High Court. The reason is that Ericsson complained that Xiaomi infringed their patents. And now, OnePlus is next turn.

Last tuesday, the Delhi High Court forbad the Chinese company from importing and selling OnePlus One in India. Apparently, it’s a little bit different from the previous case. Micromax have an exclusivity deal with Cynogen. And according to them, Micromax was given an exclusive licence to create and distribute Cyanogen’s technology as a part of its devices in India. Micromax has an exclusive licence for South Asia while OnePlus has a non-exclusive licence for the other countries, not China. “Micromax incurred major expenses for creation of a brand exclusivity for providing to Indian customers mobile phones with Cyanogen operating systems. It would suffer irreparable harm and loss if the defendants (OnePlus) are permitted to continue with their illegal acts in violation of the agreement between Micromax and Cyanogen”, said Micromax. 

However, justice Manmohan Singh allowed the company, which released its OnePlus One handset in India through e-commerce website Amazon.com on 2 December, in a bid to sell its existing stock.

“In accordance with a judgement passed by the Delhi High Court, we will no longer be producing the OnePlus One with CyanogenMod to be sold in India. We are still fully committed to serving our users in the region and, in light of this decision, are working to find a solution that will allow us to continue operations as soon as possible,” said an official announcement from OnePlus. The Shenzen-based startup said its regret “the inconvenience this causes to OnePlus fans in India who have patiently waited for the opportunity to purchase the One”, said the Shenzen-based.

We have known before from OnePlus that the company is working on its own Android ROM, which was predicted to be available later this month. Thereby, the company will have to hurry its tasks if they still want continuously to sell their products in India.

The rumour comes from teasers posted on the OnePlus social medial channels, facebook, which appeared an image with the launch date of 17th December, and 4 blue dots take inspiration from the power notification lights on the side of an Apple Macbook.

So, while many OnePlus One lovers guess that it will be 10,000 invites or possibly 10,000 phones up for launch date. Others thought that this may mention about the size of possible OnePlus battery pack, which would be at the same size as the original Xiaomi powerbank.

Of course, we don’t have any official news about this. But we guess that there is the possibility that OnePlus could expand their flagship range later today with the realease of a 10,000mAh power bank.

HTC Hima, which is rumoured as the next flagship of the HTC One M8, may not be published at the big forums, like CES and MWC early 2015. According to @upleaks, the HTC Hima might premiere at a stand – alone event, expected to March 2015.

Although this phone don’t support ID touch, but no matter what, will all listed specs and at that prices, its phone is an amazing modern phone ever.

Its phone can be pre-ordered today and will be shipped one week after. One of the Huawei’s vice-presidents talked that he forecast that this phone can be sold at about 10 million units. And there is not word on globally availability and pricing yet.

Xiaomi is the company that always launch super-cheap phone with high-quality. And this company is now on top 5 world’s largest company (report in Q3,2014). But according to some news which revealed earlier today that “the world’s fastest-growing smartphone maker is barely profitable”. In more detail, this company’s profit is less than what a lot of analysts had forecasted with an overall profit margin of only 1.3%. Remarkably less than the 28.7% Apple are reporting and 18.7% of rival Samsung.

And recently, we received some rumours about a launch of super-cheap 500 yuan Android handset in 2005. And although this is not the first time we have heard news of a cheaper Xiaomi phone. Sometimes, we got a news might have more relation with a phone which is powered by a 4G LTE processor from Chinese SoC manufacturer Leadcore, who Xiaomi recently invested in.

But this phone is really considerable with an estimate of 500 yuan or about PHP 3643. This phone is cheaper than not only current Mi devices but also even the already well priced Redmi line. And it seemingly that Xiaomi will cooperate with BOE technology to create an affordable display for this upcoming phone.

We can clearly understand that after a huge success year, it’s no doubt that Xiaomi will continuously create and publish more and more smartphones in the next year. Of course, there is no chance the Lei Jun and his team will take next year of to let other follow up closely.

Gartner – the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company announced a report about the mobile phone sales in the Q3,2014. Therefore, according to this report, feature phones continue to decline significantly (down 25%), while smartphones are on the rise (up 20%). “Sales of feature phones declined 25 percent in the third quarter of 2014 because the difference in price between feature phones and low-cost Android smartphones is reducing further,” said Roberta Cozza, research director at Gartner.

There are 3 Chinese-based vendor in the top 5 world’s largest smartphone. It’s Xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo which have ambition to enter the international market. The Chinese maker is being more and more a big threat – cheap than ever. Especially when they always launch the affordable price phone with high-quality specs.

Besides that, Samsung experienced an remarkable decrease of 7% compared to the last year. Samsung’s deepest decline came from feature phones, which reduced by 10.8 percent year-over-year. There is an rapid decline in the smartphone sales mostly in Western Europe and Asia. Besides, Samsung’sales index decreased 28.6 percent in China, the biggest market for Samsung.

Apple have an 26% growth in the third quarter of 2014. With the huge launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple succeeded in neutralizing the advantage of Android rivals.

In total, the number of units was sold is flat in comparing with the same period in 2013. “Samsung and Nokia experienced sharp double-digit declines in the third quarter, which let Apple get closer to Nokia, with only 5 million units separating these two vendors,” said Ms. Cozza. “The gap is also narrowing between the third and fourth positions, and the fourth quarter could be decisive for Huawei and LG.”
