Gionee A1 was unveiled in India this Tuesday. The phone will be available from March 31 via offline retailers around the country.

Gionee A1: 4GB RAM, 4010mAh battery

The smartphone was announced on Tuesday this week. Gionee revealed that the smartphone will become available for pre-order from March 31 via offline retailers, before being made available online via Amazon India. In terms of Gionee A1 specs, it features a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display screen. The display pixel density is around 401ppi. Gionee A1 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, expandable up to 256GB using SIM 2 slot.

Gionee A1 cameras are also notable. The phone is mounted with a 13MP f/2.0 cameras on the back with 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size and a single LED flash. The back camera is capable of recording 1080p@30fps videos. Meanwhile, the front shooter is 16MP f/2.0 with 1/3″ sensor size. The device is powered by an octa-core Helio P10 (4 x 2.0GHz & 4 x 1.0GHz, along with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The phone runs on the latest Android 7.0 version with Amigo OS 4.0.

Other features include a non-removable 4010mAh battery and fast battery charging technology. Gionee also emphasize the new 18W “ultrafast charging” that can charge the battery fully in 2 hours. It still has a 3.5mm audio jack in case you are wondering. The phone measures 154.5×76.5×8.5mm and weighs 182 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11/ a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, and Micro-USB.

Gionee A1: price and availability

The Gionee A1 was first unveiled alongside the A1 Plus at MWC 2017 last month. But since March 31, you can start pre-ordering the phones via local offline retailers. After that, the phone will also become available on Amazon India. Pre-ordering customers will get a 2-year warranty, and the choice of a pair of JBL headphones or a Swiss Military Bluetooth speaker. Sadly Gionee did not disclose any information about Gionee A1 price.
