HMD is the Finnish company that managed to get the rights to the Nokia brand earlier this year, after the Nokia-Microsoft deal ended. The company has planned to unveiled some Nokia devices in the coming MWC expo happening in March. One thing to note is that HMD also acquired the feature phone business of Nokia, and that is what HMD has decided to start with a Nokia phone. Very recently, they have announced the new Nokia 150, a feature phone as Nokia-ish as it can get!

There will be two versions of this Nokia phone: a normal and a dual-SIM one. The Nokia 150 price for both versions are as low as about $26, a very low price. HMD called this phone “affordable and durable”, and this phone truly gives off the feeling of the good old Nokia devices: reliable and user-friendly interface. Some of Nokia 150 specs are a 2.4″ display, a physical keyboard (who’s surprised?), Bluetooth, FM Radio, MP3 player, and a microSD slot. The phone is now charged with a standard microUSB cable. There is a VGA camera at the back, and the LED light you can use as a torch, as is Nokia’s tradition.

Nokia restructuring has left thousands of workers lost their jobs. After left the company, these sacked employees just want to keep in touch with other former colleagues. Among those sacked workers, there are Verena Rentrop and Elsie Parumog. Although the two people live far from each other, they talk to each other frequently. They had an idea of setting up a Facebook group called Beyond Nokia group to help themselves and other former colleagues can keep in touch with each other more easily and relieve the sadness. Rentrop said that she did not expect much people to join the group at first. Yet, she couldn’t believe that after just a few days, the number of people joining the group has reached 2000. And after a week, there were 19.000 former colleagues joining the group. This left her very surprised.

After the information about Nokia comeback, the group is even more excited and full of praises about their former company. It shows how great their love towards Nokia is. Sotiris Makrygiannis who is used to be R&D director of Nokia at Helsinki said people in the group talk about Nokia like love stories. And he has never seen such people admiring former company like them. Nokia has fired them, but they still love the company. And the question is why they do so. Rentrop didn’t explain but smiled and looked at Nokia slogan “Connecting people”. She said that Nokia is not a workplace, it’s their family.

The first in the list of latest Nokia smartphones leaked is Nokia D1C. There are two versions with different specification. They will have the same design and both are pre-installed Android Nougat 7.0 OS. As for other specs, Nokia D1C smaller version will sports a 5.0 inch Full HD screen, eight-core Snapdragon 430 at 1.4 GHz speed, 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM. It also sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. This phone is a Nokia low-end smartphone with the official price tag of $150 ~ Rs. 10,100.

On the other hand, Nokia D1C will mount a 5.5-inch Full-HD screen and it is expected to have 3GB RAM, 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Its processor could be a Snapdragon 820 or lower.  Though not confirmed, we are hoping to see “Pureview” on this mid-range Nokia D1C variant. Nokia has announced the price of this smartphone at $200 ~ Rs. 13,500.

2. Nokia Pixel

The next phone in the list is “Nokia Pixel”. This model has quite low configurations with Snapdragon 200 chipset and 2 cores running at 1.19 GHz speed along with the Adreno 302 graphic GPU. To our surprise, this phone is powered by just 1GB RAM, however, the device also supports Quick Charge 3.0 and gets Android OS 7.0.1 preinstalled. Nokia seems to show their strategy that they don’t want to enter the specification race through this phone. We haven’t got any information about Nokia Pixel Price yet. But based on the specs, this phone is obviously under $100 ~ Rs. 7,250.

3. Nokia Ara

Besides Nokia Pixel, Nokia recently leaked two other mid-range phones. One of them is Nokia Ara. Specifically, Nokia Ara is quite similar to Nokia Pixel. The machine boasts a 1.19 GHz Snapdragon 200 chipset, Adreno 302 GPU, 1 GB RAM. But Ara runs on Android 5.1.1 instead of Android 7.0 like Nokia Pixel. There isn’t any information about Nokia Ara price now.

That means they will probably produce entry level smartphones under $100 in the context of high demand for low-price segment, especially in India.
