Samsung ISOCELL Dual

Samsung unveils ISOCELL Dual and the Exynos 9810 chipset

Samsung is going to introduce the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo flagships at MWC 2018 with dual cameras and the largest aperture of f/1.5. However, Samsung seems to focus more on mid-range segments when launching Samsung ISOCELL Dual brand. The sub-brand provides dual cameras solutions and the necessary image processing algorithms for mid and entry-level smartphones.

In details, Samsung focuses on two popular uses of dual cameras – refocusing (bokeh) and low-light shooting. Thus, companies can choose between a 13MP+5MP setup for a bokeh-shooting camera and a dual 8MP for a low-light camera. Meanwhile, there are custom dual camera designs on the sensor and software levels. Also, Samsung’s silicon node claims “superior image quality” with small pixels built on a 28nm node.

Samsung Exynos 9810 chipset

Besides, Samsung Exynos 9810 high-end chip announced at CES 2018 last month appears on the European variant of the Galaxy S9 (other regions gets Snapdragon 845). Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S9 duo flagships in European markets go first with the powerful Samsung Exynos 9810 chipset. How do you feel about future technology of Samsung? Samsung Galaxy X: Will Samsung drop the Galaxy S10 name?

We are getting closer to the MWC 2018 event and the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9 duo flagship. Thus, the next-gen Samsung flagship information has already appeared online. Based on the latest updates, the 10th phone of Samsung Galaxy S series should be Samsung Galaxy S10, obviously. However, it seems that Samsung might get a notable celebration for the next smartphone when naming it as “Samsung Galaxy X” instead of “Galaxy S10”.

According to our sources, if Samsung confirms the name, it might drop a lot of branding mindshare from the previous Samsung Galaxy S-line. However, Samsung seems to push the problem to the next year with the dubbed Galaxy X series. As far as it concerns, we get X = 10, or Samsung Galaxy SX would be the fresh start for the new series. After then, the following flagships could go under “Samsung Galaxy SXI” or “Samsung Galaxy X2”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbSy3Nn4TuE

It was in last September when Samsung’s mobile boss DJ Koh said to launch a foldable smartphone sometime in 2018. Sadly, there’s been a delay and Koh revealed that the launch timeframe falls around 2019. Since the company never officially confirmed the naming, the foldable phone is likely to be Samsung Galaxy X. Also, the company starts to introduce foldable display in this March and manufacture panels in September.

What else to expect next year from Samsung?

Since mass production of the final product should start in November. Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy SX release date should fall around December of 2018 or January 2019. There is no official information about Samsung Galaxy XS price, but it might start at least $656 ~ Rs. 41,999. For now, let’s focus on Samsung Galaxy S9 flagships launch at MWC 2018 before we receive more information of Samsung Galaxy SX. What do you think about the new strategy of Samsung branding name? Share with us your ideas in the comments and stay tuned!
