Titanfall 2 has been released for a while. Despite coming out between the two most anticipated games of the holiday, it still received good reception. Recently, Titanfall Twitter account has done something quite hilarious!

Titanfall Twitter spams random people about new game

Although having been released for some time already, Titanfall 2 marketing department seems to be still very active in their work. Recently, the official Titanfall Twitter account has done something quite hilarious: sending messages to people who mention that they want to try out a new game. Of course, those messages were about trying Titanfall 2. They seem quite aggressive about it, mentioning about considering Titanfall 2 in every tweet that was asking for or wanting to try out a new game.

While Titanfall 2 is by no means a bad game, in fact it is very good, but this move can be seen as quite desperate. However, this is not the first time that the Titanfall Twitter account has had some missteps. Not too long ago, they themselves have attempted to take a cheap shot at shading its competitor Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Remember, Respawn, the developer of the game, has many old staffs of Infinity Ward, and the official Titanfall Twitter account is run by EA. Respawn’s Twitter later posted their support for their former peer developers in response.

To be fair, not only Titanfall, but other EA titles have made some idiotic moves as well. Earlier, the official Battlefield account was flamed for using the hastag #justWWIthings, which does not sound pleasant to a lot of people. Since then, they had to take down those posts, and issue an apology in another tweet. Titanfall Twitter account can learn something from that too, first by slowing down. Good games will attract people naturally, not by annoying potential customers!

This incident is a good lesson to marketing teams of EA and Respawn. You should never annoy your potential customers (regardless of intention). Still, Titanfall 2 is a really good game to try out. As usual, the DICE Awards is happening soon, at the start of the year. In 2016, there have been a lot of good games being released. For this event, so far, Uncharted 4 has taken a big lead with 10 nominations!

DICE Awards: Uncharted 4 leads with 10 nominations

This year marks the 20th year of the DICE Awards. Recently, The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has announced the full list of nominees for this event. The game leading the pack is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, with a total of ten nominations. Among those nominations, there is one for the highest award, the Game of the Year. Uncharted 4 was also nominated in other categories, like Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction and Design, among others. 2016 seems to be a very successful year for Uncharted 4, as the game was very well-received.

The one following behind is, surprisingly, an indie game. The indie hit, Inside, from developer Playdead, has received nine nominations so far. There are also other games with more than one nominations. Those include Battlefield 1 (8 nominations), The Last Guardian (7), Firewatch (6), Overwatch (6), and Titanfall (4). As for the Game of the Year nomination, besides Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, there are also Inside, Pokemon Go, Overwatch and Battlefield 1. The competition seems to be intense this year!

Winners will be announced in the awards show. The show will be live streamed, and we will keep you updated with the winners when they are revealed. In addition to determining the winner, this year’s DICE Awards will also honor Bethesda’s Todd Howard, the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series director. He is the latest inductee to the group’s Hall of Fame. Overall, all the nominated games were played and evaluated by a peer panel, including experts in the field. For comparison, the touch screen of a smartphone consumes about 300 to 1,500 mW and  a download via WLAN around 500 to 1200 mW. So, if there is no app that constantly polls the current location, the shutdown of GPS saves almost no battery power. In short, this is a saving measure that is definitely unnecessary.

Chucklefish Games is the development company behind Starbound, a game that has gained a good amount of success. Recently, its CEO has shared some information about the upcoming plans, including two new games!

Starbound developer shows new images of new games!

After Starbound finally came out of Early Access stage, the game has achieved moderate success for Chucklefish Games. Since then, the developer of the popular Stardew Valley has already begun to work on the next project. Actually, not one, but two projects. That’s right, the CEO of Chucklefish Games, Finn “Tiyuri” Brice, has tweeted some first looks of the games the company is working on already. Initially, there has been some confusion, as he tweeted one game on Twitter, and he also posted another video on his Youtube channel in October. Recently, he has clarified that the company is indeed working on two games.

The Youtube video, called “Art Style Demonstration”, is sort of a concept for an upcoming game. This game will belong to the RPG/Sim genre. Brice actually describe this game as a RPG/Sim set in magic school, and looks like a blend of Stardew Valley and Harry Potter. Also, it’s interesting that the word “spellbound” is used a lot by him when describing the game. Well, we already have “Starbound”, and this game has a magical setting, so why not “Spellbound”? There will be many Sim elements, such as day night cycle, dating, classes, etc. but with some interesting twists, Brice revealed.

The second game, as the CEO described himself, is “Advance Wars meets Fire Emblem, with online multiplayer, on PC”. So, the second game adapt a strategic based combat system. From the description alone, the game already sounds exciting. There will also be mods support for the game. That is great news, as tactic games with mods support is always welcomed by gamers. Naturally, the game will be multiplayer. With those two projects set in development, we can certainly have much to wait for from Chucklefish Games.!

LG is a Korean-based manufacturer which is very successful in the market with their incredible devices. Different from other phones which were just announced in this year such as LG V20 or LG G6, LG X300 is a mid-range smartphone which is equipped with quite medium specs and certainly comes at a budget price. If you are looking for a budget smartphone from a reliable manufacturer, this could be a proper choice.

In terms of LG X300 specs, it features a 5.0-inch display with HD resolution. Besides, there is a Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at the speed of 1.4GHz Quad-core CPU. It offers 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. The storage capacity is not very impressive, but don’t worry, you can expand it via microSD card to support your using. It also comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.

iPhone 8: dual 16MP cameras, iris scanner

iPhone 8 is expected to make it debut this fall. The design of this phone belongs to Remo Zehnder. According to him, the phone will have an overhauled design, giving it a beautiful and refreshing look. The frame will be made of stainless steel, with the front and back made of glass. The physical home button will be integrated with the touch screen. You can still unlock your phone by scanning your fingerprint. However, an iris scanner is added, providing better security for the phone.

In terms of iPhone 8 specs, it is expected to feature a 5.8″ AMOLED display of unknown resolution. iPhones 8 cameras are other notable specs. The phone will come with dual 16MP f/1.7 back cameras with quad LED flash and OIS feature, while the front camera is 8MP. The back cameras will also have many other premium features, allow the phone to capture high quality 4K videos.

There is no information about the processor, RAM, ROM or battery, so we will have to wait for more details. However, there are some other interesting features that will come with the phone.It will have wireless charging ability and the phone will be sold along Apple Pencil. Sadly, there’s no sight of the 3.5mm audio jack, so we will have to live with it.
