In October, Gionee released their P7 Max in the Indian market. This phone has made a certain success in this country. Now, the brand continues to bring the phone’s sibling to the country – Gionee P7. With this phone, Gionee added a new member to the “P” series. This Chinese company skipped the launch event and directly brought the phone to the market.

Design-wise, the phone comes with an all-in-one metal design with the Gionee logo on the back. In terms of Gionee P7 specs, the phone is powered by a 1.3Ghz octa-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android Marshmallow OS. Compared to the “Max” version, this phone is not as strong. It packs 2GB RAM paired with 16GB of expandable inbuilt storage.

For photography, the company added a 5MP selfie snapper and an 8MP primary camera with LED flash which can give you the bright shots even in the dark environment. The phone is backed up with a 2300mAh battery and owns a 5-inch HD screen which is coated with a Soda Lime glass. As the lower version, P7 is downscaled compared to the P7 Max.

With all these specs, this new Gionee phone is aimed at the budget segment. The phone will be available in 3 colors: Gray, Latte Gold, and White. The company is now ready for sale in India (for online and offline stores). Gionee P7 price is quoted at about Rs. 9999. With these specs and a budget price, the new phone from Gionee can make a thing in the Indian budget segment.

With CES 2017 just around the corner, rumored foldable smartphones might be close from fiction to reality. Samsung’s upcoming foldable-display smartphone has been making the rounds for several months.

Foldable smartphones, not fiction anymore

A few years ago during the Consumer Electronics Show in 2013, Samsung laid out their idea for displays of the future; flexible and malleable. Since then, the OLED displays have been put in so many devices, Samsung and LG have both been competing to build this feature. Samsung still managed to turn this technology into a reality, it started to manufacture the OLED with the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge line. Samsung wants to come out with something much more than the OLED displays, as we have seen Xiaomi and Huawei join in to manufacture phones like the edge models.

These foldable smartphones will be the main option for Samsung next year. The first device would only be produced in limited quantities, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Round which Samsung introduces before releasing its edge display smartphones. A second foldable smartphone is also planned, featuring a single flexible display panel. Industry experts claim that the first generation of Samsung’s foldable display smartphone will be inward-folding, allowing the display to be protected by the phone’s body when folded.

Outward-folding smartphones which feature flexible displays which wrap around the front and back of the phone would eventually follow. In 2017, these foldable smartphones that Samsung gonna lunch will look similar to a book ( opening and closing). with a hinge in the center of the two displays. It appears as though flexible display technology, the battery, processor and so on aren’t quite ready for Samsung to launch a final product.

The leaked Nokia Android device that is most likely to come is Nokia D1C. We have reported about its two variants and their detailed specifications.  The 2 GB RAM variant will be priced at $150 ( Rs 9999) and the 3 GB RAM variant may be priced at $200 (12999).

Besides the same design and both are pre-installed Android Nougat 7.0 OS, the two variants are mostly different in specs. 2GB RAM version will boast 5.0 inch screen with a resolution of 1080p. This version will be equipped with eight-core Snapdragon 430 at 1.4 GHz speed, 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM. It sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. On the other hand, Nokia D1C 3GB RAM version will sport 5.5-inch screen, 16MP rear camera and probably Snapdragon 820.

Nokia will come back the mobile market in 2017 with official confirmation from Nokia. While waiting for the Finnish giant’s return, why don’t we take a look a latest Nokia smartphones leaked?

1. Nokia D1C

The first in the list of latest Nokia smartphones leaked is Nokia D1C. There are two versions with different specification. They will have the same design and both are pre-installed Android Nougat 7.0 OS. As for other specs, Nokia D1C smaller version will sports a 5.0 inch Full HD screen, eight-core Snapdragon 430 at 1.4 GHz speed, 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM. On the other hand, Nokia D1C will mount a 5.5-inch Full-HD screen and it is expected to have 3GB RAM, 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Its processor could be a Snapdragon 820 or lower.  Though not confirmed, we are hoping to see “Pureview” on this mid-range Nokia D1C variant. Nokia has announced the price of this smartphone at $200 ~ Rs. 13,500.

2. Nokia Pixel

The next phone in the list is “Nokia Pixel”. This model has quite low configurations with Snapdragon 200 chipset and 2 cores running at 1.19 GHz speed along with the Adreno 302 graphic GPU. To our surprise, this phone is powered by just 1GB RAM, however, the device also supports Quick Charge 3.0 and gets Android OS 7.0.1 preinstalled. Nokia seems to show their strategy that they don’t want to enter the specification race through this phone. We haven’t got any information about Nokia Pixel Price yet. But based on the specs, this phone is obviously under $100 ~ Rs. 7,250.

3. Nokia Ara

Besides Nokia Pixel, Nokia recently leaked two other mid-range phones. One of them is Nokia Ara. Specifically, Nokia Ara is quite similar to Nokia Pixel. The machine boasts a 1.19 GHz Snapdragon 200 chipset, Adreno 302 GPU, 1 GB RAM. But Ara runs on Android 5.1.1 instead of Android 7.0 like Nokia Pixel. There isn’t any information about Nokia Ara price now.

4. Nokia C-200 PureView

The number 4 in the list of latest Nokia smartphones leaked is Nokia C2-00 PureView. This mid-range phone has much higher specs thatn Nokia Ara with Intel Pentium G3220 chipset owning a mononuclear speed at 2.99 GHz. Nokia C2-00 sports 1.5GB RAM and runs Android 6.0. Regarding performance evaluation, the single core and multiple-core that Nokia C2-00 PureView scores are 2523 and 2428, respectively. With the PureView camera, this handset has a quite high price: $289 ~ Rs. 19,500.

5. Nokia C1

Last but not least, Nokia C1 is the best Nokia smartphones leaked. The phone will sport a 5.2-inch Full HD display. As for the OS, Nokia C1  runs Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Nokia C1. As previously reported, some iPhone 6s devices have been experiencing problems. Apple is thought to have identified the issue, but apparently the iPhone 6s battery problem is bigger than that!

iPhone 6s battery problem is bigger than Apple anticipated!

It looks like the iPhone 6s battery problem is getting bigger than Apple has anticipated. As previously reported, there have been many instances of iPhone 6s devices shutting down unexpectedly, even when the battery was still enough. Apple has declared that only happened to “a very small number” of devices, and have let customers know that their voices have been heard. However, that’s only true if you are Chinese: Apple only put the statement regarding this problem on their Chinese website!

In the Chinese statement, Apple has rehashed that the company is the best in the world in customer service, and customers don’t have to worry. However, there are reports of iPhone 6s battery problem all over the world, not just in China. Why the company has not given a statement at least in the US website, no one knows. However, they promised that an update is coming soon, that would help fix the problem.

It is really good that a software patch is being rolled out, if that fixes the problem at all. Not having to go down to an Apple store to exchange is certainly more convenient. Instead, you can just get the latest software update, and the problem may be fixed. However, while the issue is happening worldwide, releasing statements only in Chinese will not help at all. It makes people think there may be bigger problems behind the scene, or whether this has gotten out of Apple’s hand!

iPhone 6s battery problem: Need to wait more

Previously, some initial information about Microsoft’s upcoming Surface phone were leaked. Those were about the initial specs of the phone. Now, we have more Surface phone latest information here as well. The phone would use the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, and there will be 6GB RAM. There are also reports of another version with 4GB RAM only. There will be some difference between the two devices.

The biggest difference between the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM versions is the ability to run x86 native apps. The 6GB RAM version will be able to run x86 native apps while in Continuum. When not in Continuum, it cannot run the said apps, but they can still be installed. This coupled with the fact that Microsoft has announced the compatibility of x86 Win 32 apps with Snapdragon processors tells us that this feature is likely to be true.

Other Surface Phone specs also include a 5.5″ screen, with QHD display. The 4GB RAM version of the phone will also have the Snapdragon 835 chipset. The operating system will still be the Windows 10 Mobile, but it seems it will be after the major coming update. The update in question is the Redstone 3. This is the main reason that the Surface phone is delayed, since Microsoft wants to make release Windows 10 Redstone 3 for all devices. The Surface phone will be the first device to run this updated OS.

Referring to Nokia’s “myth”, they used to dominate the market with 41 million units sold each year, profits increased by 75% per year at the end of the 20th century. But these are the early days of the mobile world. Less than a decade later, the user has witnessed the fall of Nokia smartphone brands, from high-end Lumia line to the “loser child” Nokia X. Nokia seems to realize the downside of Window OS that they move to the Android for return. However, their experience in Android is almost equal to Zero.
