Nokia restructuring has left thousands of workers lost their jobs. After left the company, these sacked employees just want to keep in touch with other former colleagues. Among those sacked workers, there are Verena Rentrop and Elsie Parumog. Although the two people live far from each other, they talk to each other frequently. They had an idea of setting up a Facebook group called Beyond Nokia group to help themselves and other former colleagues can keep in touch with each other more easily and relieve the sadness. Rentrop said that she did not expect much people to join the group at first. Yet, she couldn’t believe that after just a few days, the number of people joining the group has reached 2000. And after a week, there were 19.000 former colleagues joining the group. This left her very surprised.

After the information about Nokia comeback, the group is even more excited and full of praises about their former company. It shows how great their love towards Nokia is. Sotiris Makrygiannis who is used to be R&D director of Nokia at Helsinki said people in the group talk about Nokia like love stories. And he has never seen such people admiring former company like them. Nokia has fired them, but they still love the company. And the question is why they do so. Rentrop didn’t explain but smiled and looked at Nokia slogan “Connecting people”. She said that Nokia is not a workplace, it’s their family.

They even share their new projects and concept phones made by themselves. In the group, members even talk about chocolate. GeekBar from China recently revealed that they have successfully expanded an iPhone 6s from 16GB to 256GB. We won’t go into technical details here, but basically the original storage chip of iPhone 6s 16GB is removed with an outside 256GB one. Then, you will have a 256GB iPhone 6s! After the expansion, and the phone successfully recognize the new flash storage, the real available capacity of the phone is 247.66GB, since the system files will take some space after all.

That sounds good and all, but are there any risks to this method? Well, firstly, changing the original component with a third party one may lead to the device not recognizing the new component, making the phone basically useless. Furthermore, even though GeekBar has shared that Apple is not likely to ban this method, they still can, and it is advisable for people to use this method to keep the original storage chip, so they can revert back to cut the loss. Overall, use this method with cautions!

He, along with many, was also afraid to lose market of PC gaming to other competition platforms such as consoles, macOS or Android. The whole Steam ecosystem was born out of the market condition at the time.

However, after two years, SteamOS is slowly fading into irrelevancy. That is because of the introduction of Windows 10. Azor said that Microsoft has learned a lot with their mistakes, and made significant improvement on the Windows 8 (and 8.1) update. Windows 10 an be said to have focused more on gamers. Further improvements are in the works as well, such as streaming. Each update makes it easier to play games on Windows. Although some executions still need to be worked on, it is a vast improvement on Windows 8. Thus, the SteamOS cannot beat the most popular OS in the world.
