For the last iPhone 6 battery issue, Apple explained that the iPhone 6 battery issue is because of manufacturing fault. Samsung to pay $399 million out of $ 1.05 billion

Let us tell you that December gonna be sweet for Samsung as it escaped a $ 1.05 billion payment to Apple. The US supreme court just granted the company an early exciting Christmas gift this week. This means that the report of Apple against Samsung was denied. According to Reuters, the decision was against Samsung to pay $399 million in damages sought to Apple in the years-old iPhone design patent case. Analysts said it was likely to curb litigation from patent holders expecting to reap big profits from infringement on a component.

In 2012, a jury ruled that it must pay Apple more than $1 billion for copying the various hardware and software features from the iPhone and iPad. A federal judge later reduced that penalty by $399 million. Samsung asked the Supreme Court late last year to review $399 million of those damages related to several design patents. Including its phones’ rounded corners and home screen display with 16 app icons. The patents impacted 11 Samsung phones, where it argued that the damage was calculated based on an unfair and outdated standard.

Here is the reaction of an Apple spokesman, “Our case has always been about our biggest competitor copying our ideas, and that was never in dispute… We remain optimistic that the lower courts will again send a powerful signal that stealing isn’t right”. The company has successfully done well by protecting and defending its values, it fought Apple hard and will only pay $399 out of $1.05 billion that was charged back in 2012. The US supreme court also said it may dissuade companies from launching new lawsuits on design patents.

It is no secret now that Nokia will return to the smartphone market. The Finnish company has confirmed its comeback in MWC next year. HMD has been licensed by Nokia to be in charge of the giant’s phone brand. HMD seems very fitting to do this task, having a global presence with 40 offices all over the world. However, HMD will not do this task of bringing glory back to Nokia alone, as it has just been revealed that the company will work closely with Google on the release of this new Nokia Android phone.

HMD Global CEO Arto Nummela has told Reuters that there will be extensive collaboration with Google at least for the first few Nokia smartphones. Not much has been revealed about the involvement, however, we can speculate what advice Google would give to a new Android player, especially one that has been in the market for too long. Nummela has stated that HMD will not rely on goodwill and nostalgia to make customers buy the phone, but what Nokia has always done best: best battery life, extreme durability and user friendliness.

Nummela has talked with Bloomberg, and reinstated that the Nokia brand is known for its “simplicity, ease of use, reliability and quality”. HMD will make innovations where possible, while retaining what were the best features of Nokia phones. We can expect the new Nokia Android phone to have something close to stock or near-stock Android, like what Moto has done. There would be no software junks (as it should be). This would be contrary to the BlackBerry Priv, as the phone has tried to do “too much” and failed, even though it is a very good phone.

Now, Naughty Dogs has delivered: in a recent PlayStation Experience (PSX) panel, the publisher has revealed a trailer for The Last of Us 2. The company has also revealed that in this sequel, players will take the role of Ellie, rather than Joel in the first game. In the first game, players were able to play as Ellie only in the DLC Left Behind.

In the trailer, we can see that Ellie vows to “kill everyone”, although we don’t know the identity of those people. Creative director of the game, Neil Druckmann, when asked about the people Ellie targets, avoided to address the question. Not much was shared during the panel actually, and Druckmann only confirmed Ellie as playable in the sequel. He noted that playing as “Ellie” will be different than Joel, but did not elaborate on that. You can watch the trailer below.

To draw a contrast between the two games, Druckmann said that The Last of Us 2 would be different from its prequel. To be more precise, he shared that the first game was about the love of Joel and Ellie. The second game, however, will be about hate.
