iPhone 7 Plus battery: 60 hours of audio playback

At the iPhone 7 series launch event, Apple unveiled almost every spec of these two phones but the battery. The US company just said that iPhone 7 battery will last 2 hours (14%) longer than iPhone 6s, and iPhone 7 Plus will last 1 hour longer than 6s Plus. Now, the battery capacity of these two devices have appeared on TENNA. According to this website, iPhone 7 Plus battery is 2900mAh while iPhone 7 get the cell of 1960mAh.

With this capacity, you can use your iPhone longer than ever. Let’s come to iPhone 7 first. With the 1960mAh cell, you can have 14 hours of talk time and 10 days of standby. These numbers are the same with IP 6s. With IP 7, you can use the internet up to 12 hours on 3G, 12 hours on LTE, and 14 hours on Wifi. These numbers on 6s are 10,10, and 11. iPhone 7 has 13 hours of wireless video playback and 40 hours of wireless audio playback.

On the other hand, iPhone 7 Plus now has the longest battery life of all iPhones. The 3G talk time and standby are 21 hours and 16 days, respectively. The wireless audio playback goes up to 60 hours. The time of internet use is 1 hour longer than iPhone 7 in each category (3G, LTE, wifi). Compared to 6s Plus, LTE and 3G internet using are 20% longer. Meanwhile, Wifi browsing time is 27% longer.

iPhone 7 Plus battery: still no quick charging

Apple this year added many new features to their products: dual camera, waterproof, or stereo speakers. Those features are easily found on Android phones. However, there is an Android-popular feature which is not used – Quick Charge technology. Many Android brand added this feature to their products to speed up the time charging. So hopefully, next year’s iPhone will have this technology.

Water resistant VS water repellent VS waterproof: the differences

Have you ever wondered why some smartphones are called waterproof devices while some others are labeled water resistant or water repellent handsets? Today we will show you how to distinguish between the three!

Xperia-M4-Aqua-e1473408945382

Water resistant, water repellent and waterproof: the definition

Among the three terms, water resistant is the least powerful. Water resistant devices are able to stand the “attack” of water at some levels, not completely. Normally such devices are covered with a light coat of substance that enhances their ability to stay safe from the average penetration of water. For example, water-resistant devices can survive light rains, hand-washing, and sweats. However, this feature can wear off after long time use. You can find such feature in recent Sony smartphones like X Performance, XA, XA Ultra,…

Water-repellent is a higher level of water-resistant. Water repellent devices are able to repel water from them, or you can call them hydrophobic devices. The ones called water-repellent devices are usually covered by a very thin coat of nanotechnology. Water cannot stay on the surface of that coat, which can be located on the inside, on the outside or even both. Devices with that technology are more likely to survive water penetration than common ones.

Sony_Xperia_Z4v_Waterproof_Cell_phone-e1473408961269

Last but not least, we have water-proof. If your smartphone is labeled “waterproof”, it is able to stay untouched after heavy “attack” of water, or in other words, it is impervious to water. Such devices can be placed in the water for hours without encountering any problem. Users can put these devices in their pockets while they are swimming or even scuba-diving.

Water resistant, water repellent and waterproof: How about smartphones?

There are many smartphones that come with water protection feature. Some of them are labeled “waterproof”. Some are labeled “water resistant”. However, if we consider the definitions above, none of smartphones nowadays are waterproof, except the rugged ones for military purposes like Sonim XP7, Samsung Galaxy S7 active,… So if you are having a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or you want to buy an iPhone 7 in the future, don’t try to test its water resisting ability by extreme methods because that function may wear off after long time use.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) leaked: 3GB RAM, 16MP camera

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) has just leaked online. With 3GB RAM, a 5.7-inch display, and a beautiful look, this phone will be a tough competitor in the market.

Galaxy A8

Samsung Galaxy A8: 5.7-inch FHD, 3GB RAM

While most devices in the Samsung A series version 2016 are already out in the market, Galaxy A8 (2016) is still not. Some of them (Galaxy A7 and A3) even have the 2017 version leaked already. Now, we have words that Galaxy A8 is coming at last. Back in August, some Galaxy A8 specs were leaked on GFXBench. Recently, some renders of this phone are also leaked online.

On the leaked renders, Samsung A8 looks quite stunning. This new phone from Samsung will be the combination of glass and metal. The metallic body of this phone will be coated with glass on the front and the back. On the front, the phone could probably use 2.5D curved glass. This makes A8 look similar to the high-end Galaxy S7.

Galaxy A8

In terms of Galaxy A8 specs, the handset is expected to be powered by an octa-core (4×2.1GHz + 4×1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 processor. This chipset is the same with a Samsung flagship last year – Galaxy S6. Besides, A8 may pack 3GB of RAM paired with 32GB of inbuilt storage (+up to 256GB). For photography, Samsung could add a 5MP camera on the front and a 16MP shooter on the back. In addition, Samsung A8 might feature a 5.7-inch Full HD display and run on an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Samsung Galaxy A8: price and release date

With those specs above, Samsung A8 (2016) will be much stronger than the original version in 2015. This phone will also be the tough rival to many 3GB phones in the market like Redmi Note 4, BLU Vivo 5R, or Moto G4 Play. Samsung Galaxy A8 price, as well as release date, is still a mystery. We expect the price to be higher than the previous A8 version, which is Rs. 25990 ($389). So, if you want to know more about this phone, just keep following our page!

Lenovo A6600

Lenovo A6600 family: 2GB RAM budget devices

Lenovo continues to expand their market shares in India by launching new budget products. This time, the Chinese company brings not one, but three devices to the Indian market. The three phones come from the same series – the A series. They’re Lenovo A7700, A6600, and A6600 Plus. These handsets all run Android Marshmallow OS and support 4G VolLTE.

Let’s come to Lenovo A7700 first. Under the hood, the phone runs on a 1.0GHz MediaTek 6735P SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. There is also 16GB of inbuilt storage. For photography, the company added a 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP primary shooter with dual LED flash. Other Lenovo A7700 specs include a 5.5-inch HD display and a 2900mAh battery capacity.

Lenovo A6600 family: price and release date

With all three phones above, Lenovo is aiming at the budget segment in India.  Last year their predecessors – A6000, A6000 Plus, A7000 – brought huge success to the company. What to expect from dual camera phones by different producers?

Dual camera phones are not new in the market. More and more phones come with dual-camera setup. However, not all of dual cameras are for the same purpose! Let’s consider this list to see what to expect from such phones by different manufacturers!

dual camera phones (3)

1. LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D

These are two first dual camera phones in the market! These phones were made for users who want to create their own 3D videos. The two cameras in the setup share the same specs, but they take pictures of the same object from different angles. The pictures then are mixed together to produce a 3D video or images. This feature seems super cool but in fact, the two phones didn’t succeed in the market.

The 3D technology was new and interesting at that time, but it was not something people were dying for. The new camera technology raised LG Optimus 3D price and HTC EVO 3D price so much higher, not to mention that in order to view 3D images and videos, users had to buy 3D glasses. Even 3D TV could not make it in the market. So it’s not surprising that these phones weren’t hits.

dual camera phones (1)

2. HTC M8

The HTC seems to have learned from the failure of HTC EVO 3D. With HTC M8, the company has changed the camera technology in the dual set-up. Instead of shooting from different angles, in HTC M8, the secondary camera is to measure the distance between objects and the lens, in order to create photos with blurry background and allow the users to “shoot first, focus later”. This technology was made to produce similar photos to those captured by DSLR camera. However, HTC M8 was also not successful in the market because the blurring effect was not as good as expected. HTC M8 price is currently $530 (Rs. 35428).

dual camera phones (6)

3. LG G5 / LG V20

One of the next dual camera phones is LG G5. The secondary snapper in the dual setup of this phone are for wide-angle shooting (135 degree angle). However, that function is quite too much for smartphone camera. It looks like LG is too ambitious, as even DSLR cameras do not support 135 degree angle shooting. Users also don’t want to spend too much for such features (LG G5 price is $490 – Rs. 32754). As a result, LG G5 is not really popular in the market. LG V20 – the latest flagship from LG also shares the same technology. Let’s see will this phone can take “revenge” for its predecessor (LG V20 price is expected to be $649 – Rs. 43382)!

dual camera phones (5)

4. Huawei P9

Huawei owners seem to be fond of black and white photos! The brand have added a monochrome camera to the main camera setup for black and white photos. The products of this camera is impressive, but after all, users don’t want to spend money for the effect that they already found in free photo-editing apps like VSCO or Instagram (Huawei P9 price is $500 – Rs. 33422). So again, Huawei P9 is not remarkable in the world of smartphone photography. However, thanks to the powerful Huawei P9 specs (HiSilicon Kirin 955, 4GB RAM), this phone is still popular in the market.

dual camera phones (2)

5. iPhone 7 Plus

Last but not least, we have Apple iPhone 7 Plus as the latest dual camera phone! Different from other dual camera phones in the market, iPhone 7 Plus comes with a telephoto lens in the setup to produce better beauty shots or close-up photos like portraits, food, pets, etc., which are what users usually take pictures of. Currently iPhone 7 Plus is not available for sale yet, but the technology they feature seems more practical than that in other dual camera phones. iPhone 7 Plus price is expected to start from $769 (Rs. 51404).

The first cause of smartphone explosion is a puncture insides the battery. Dropping smartphones to the ground may lead to this issue. That puncture between the battery cells can result in a short circuit, and can lead to swelling. Smartphones with low price tag, or cheap batteries, can also have this problem. The batteries of these phones may include some rare microscopic metal particles. These tiny items may collide with the battery cells and create short circuit.

The second reason of smartphone explosion is heat. Too much heat can damage the internal cells or lead to “thermal runaway”. The heat is caused by both the environment and especially, charging. The charging process already creates an amount of heat insides the battery. Bad batteries do not cool down soon enough before they receive another wave of electricity. With the case of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the brand has claimed that they import the battery from different suppliers. We expect that some of the suppliers may have problem in manufacturing the battery.

So what are some ways to prevent smartphone explosion? It’s nearly impossible to detect whether your phone battery has any internal problem out of the box. However, we can prevent heating issues. The general idea is that, do not let your phone overheat! Unplug the phone if it gets too hot, and wait for it to cool down. Make sure that you use original chargers, and even cable too, if the phone has Quick Charge or USB-C. You also shouldn’t leave the phone at hot locations while charging, such as under your pillow or blanket. It is annoying when you can’t watch movies while charging, but your safety should come first!

Smartphone explosion: Definitely avoidable

Smartphone explosion are never nice. Your smartphone that you saved money for got damaged, and you yourself may be injured if you’re unlucky. Best selfies: 5 tips to achieve your goal

To have the best selfies, a phone with a great camera may not be enough. You also need some special gadgets and tips to achieve your goal. Here we will tell you some tips, let’s check them out!

Best selfies

1. Best selfies: Find your light

Good lighting is one of the keys to having the best selfies. Therefore, you need to find your light while taking selfies. Try to find a window or some places with a good light condition. Stretch your arms higher and hold it to your left or your right. If you put your phone opposite to your face, all the light will be blocked. This goes completely against our purpose. However, you only can do this when there is daylight.

When the night comes and you are in bad lighting condition, you are still able to take selfies. Just turn it on the LED light and you will see the effect immediately. For some phones which do not have LED light, you can use apps like Selfie Light to enhance the light in your photos. Besides that, there are devices with rechargeable batteries that are sold online. Just look up “selfie flash” and you can bring them home with a very cheap price.

2.Best selfies: Choose the right angle

When you take selfies, remember always put your phone above your eyes level. By doing that, you will have a wider angle of your face and have better lighting. Also, you will look much slimmer in the shot since all muscles on your face are stretching out to the camera.

3. Best selfies: Use the self-timer

When you lift your phone up high and press the button, it’s hard to hold your phone steady. In this case, the chance of having blurred selfies is pretty high. By using the self-timer, you do not have to make any movement after choosing your angle. That leads to clear and beautiful selfies.

4. Best selfies: Easier to grip

There are a lot of gadgets that help you hold on to your phone easier. First is the popular selfies stick. With it, you can hold the stick in your hands and take pictures. However, it is more suitable for wide angle photos like group photos. For selfies, it still works but it is not as effective as we’ve expected. In this case, you can try out the second gadget type like Lazy-Hands or Ninja Loop. They are a set of hand loops that can be added to the back of your phone. Thanks to this hand loop, you will hold your phone tighter and still feel comfortable at the same time. In case you are wondering, the price is around $9,99.

5. Best selfies: Hang our phone on the wall or window

Instead of using your selfies stick, just hang your phone on a standing surface. What? The idea does sound a bit crazy and impossible. However, it can be done with NanoHold. These are specially designed sticky-pad which can be stuck to your phone case. Then you can stick you phone on any solid surface that you like. Then just use your self-timer to take selfies. Sadly, these pads cannot stick your phone to the wall for a long time period. However, they are strong enough to hold the devices for more than a few selfies. You also can use it to turn your phone to into a cookbook just by sticking on the kitchen wall.
