HTC One A9 Aero, the next upcoming device from HTC, is expected to be launched on September 29. Also, if you remember, on September 29, Google is going to launch Android 6.0 Marshmallow together with 2 latest Nexus smartphones. And according to what we’ve heard from HTC, this One A9 Aero seems to be one of the first non-Nexus smartphones to run Android 6.0
HTC One A9 Aero: first non-Nexus smartphone to run Android 6.0
If everything comes true, this update to the latest Android OS is actually a very new and positive move for HTC, since they have always been known for being slow in getting the new OS.
HTC One A9 is the flagship that carries very huge expectation from the company. The HTC One A9 specs we know by far include 4GB RAM (which is the hottest trend nowadays), MediaTek Helio X20 chipset (one of the most powerful mobile chips available) with deca-core (very few devices have this yet) and a huge improvement for camera sensor (this is still a mystery until now). If nothing changes, HTC One A9 will also pack the premium 4K display.
HTC One A9 Aero: 4K display ready to roll out
Actually, several months earlier, HTC claimed that this One A9 Aero will be the first smartphone in the world to pack 4K display. However, we all know that, at IFA Berlin this month, Sony already won the title with their Xperia Z5 Premium. Now the question being more frequently asked is that: whether 4K display is really necessary and worth the money users have to pay to have it in their smartphone.
HTC One A9 design leaks, rumored to look like iPhone
In terms of HTC One A9 design, this is said to be one of the slimmest HTC smartphones ever produced. Now with the latest feature to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, HTC is hoping that their flagship will do great this time. HTC One A9 sale day is expected to start in October or latest November 2015.
HTC One A9 Aero price by expectation
Talking about HTC One A9 price, all we can do for now is have our guess. We hope that HTC do a wise strategy this time and won’t charge too much for this newest flagship. We don’t want to see another disappointment repeated like that of the HTC M9.
We love smartphones for what they have done to make our life easier and more convenient. We update ourselves often with smartphone news in our market and around the world. But after all, what we tend to care most is inevitably the price tag. We set a budget, start looking for a device, and choose the best offer out of the basket. That is exactly the reason why affordable smartphones always have their decent shares in the market.
However, there are also a lot of other premium smartphones that carry very premium specs, but in return, attached with a hefty price tag. Recently, what are the most expensive smartphones in our market and what do they have feature such a gigantic money? Let’s take a look at these following to find out
1. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
Very recently we just had the official update of Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price and release date. In the announcement, we got to know that Xperia Z5 Premium price in Philippines will be PHP 44K.
What make Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price to be that hefty is that, it is the first smartphone in the world to feature spectacular 4K display. Other Xperia Z5 Premium specs are … premium too: 3GB RAM, 23MP with fast focus of 0.03s, Snapdragon 810, 4K display and 3,450 mAh battery.
We know Sony and their product quality already. However, will many people be willing to pay such huge money to experience this technology pioneer?
2. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge can be considered one of the most signature smartphone devices up to now. The reason? It has beautiful curved screen that went oppositely to the norm when it was first introduced. While many argued the S6 Edge screen doesn’t look elegant, others went (and still go) crazy for it.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge specs contain the best Samsung can offer: Super AMOLED display, Exynos 7420 chipset, 3GB RAM and 16MP camera. However, with only 2,600 mAh, the S6 Edge battery is a concern when people come to judge this phone.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge price in Philippines starts from PHP 35K. Not a small money eh?
3. Apple iPhone 6S Plus
Recently launched, promoted considerably by Apple, the iPhone 6S Plus is one of the heated debates for the past days. Android fans (and Android smartphone producers) mock the iPhone 6S Plus for small 2GB RAM and “tiny” battery capacity of under 2000 mAH. iPhone users made their points of how superior the 6S Plus can be regardless of the specs figures.
For now, we don’t know about the official iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines yet. But considering the iPhone 6 price in Philippines: (PHP 31K – PHP 42K), we guess the iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines can possibly be around PHP 50K. WOW!!
4. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is Samsung’s latest flagship device. It has been crowned the best display ever found in any smartphone. The device even impressed users and tech geeks by lasting up to 9 hours and 11 minutes of performance in the battery test, even though the Note 5 battery capacity is only 3000 mAH.
However, good as it may sounds, the Note 5 showed its imperfection by not featuring microSD card, which is a need many users share.
HTC One M9 is an example for the saying “Less expectation, less disappointment”. The One M9 used to be HTC’ long awaited flagship. Everyone was looking forward to its release. But then, the smartphone turned out not as good, featuring good but not enough to impress users compared to its price tag.
HTC One M9 specs include: 3GB RAM, 20MP, 2840 mAH and Snapdragon 810.
Featured at IFA 2015 (Berlin, September), Sony Xperia Z5 Premium was one of the most attractive smartphones that caught the public’s attention. This latest flagship from Sony, the Xperia Z5 Premium is known as the first smartphone in the world to be equipped with a 4K screen, besides other awesome specs.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
However, rumors have started to scrolled out ever since, talking about the big concern that any smartphone user and tech geek has in mind: The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price as well as the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price in Philippines. Based on what we know about Sony and flagship smartphones of today in general, leaking sources made a guess claiming that the Xperia Z5 Premium price in Philippines will be no less than PHP 50K.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price
Today we just had the official Xperia Z5 Premium price and also launch date announcement. According to our source, if you want to experience the first 4K display in smartphone, the Z5 Premium will cost a 5999 yuan price tag. This mean the Z5 Premium price in Philippines will be around PHP 44K and slightly higher after VAT and tax. Here are a brief summary of the Z5 Premium specs is so that you can have a fuller picture to compare: 3GB RAM, 23MP with fast focus of 0.03s, Snapdragon 810, 4K display and 3,450 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium release date
Talking about the Xperia Z5 Premium release date, it has been set to be unveiled in Mid-November. The handset will come in 2 models under the 2 name codes E6833 and E6883. It seemed that the later model, E6883 will be launched exclusively in Chinaonly and the other one will go on international market.
It is clear that the official Xperia Z5 Premium price is slightly cheaper than what we expected (a PHP 6K in difference), which is good news for users who are waiting to try the 4K display for the first time. However, do you think that PHP 44K can be a good Xperia Z5 Premium price compare to its specs that we mentioned above?
Lately, Apple iPhone 6S Plus has been launched and become a direct rival toSamsung Galaxy Note 5also released not long ago. They are produced by the giants of the mobile industry, so it is obvious that lots of people will want to see how different they are and which one is better. As a result, we would like to make a quick comparison between these two hot machines: Apple iPhone 6S Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Before taking a closer look at them, we want to emphasize that Galaxy Note 5 is one of the newest Android smartphones by Samsung. Meanwhile, iPhone 6S Plus is the latest one by Apple, running on iOS and coming with many interesting as well as high-end specs. Then, which one will be able to win your heart? Let’s check out what their differences in terms of specs and design are!
iPhone 6S Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5 DESIGN
It is said that Samsung has succeeded in making their flagships more fashionable this year. Specifically, we can see that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is really beautiful in its metal and glass dress. As for the Apple iPhone 6S Plus design, it seems very similar to iPhone 6 Plus design but with better material. The phone is made from Series 7000 aluminium, twice as strong as Series 6000 used in the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
In general, we have a feeling that Note 5 is slimmer than iPhone 6S Plus thanks to its curved panel on the back though it has a bigger screen. Besides, their home buttons, which contain fingerprint sensors, are totally different in shape: round (iPhone 6S Plus) vs oval (Note 5). On the contrary, the phones’ rounded corners and the position of their speakers are alike.
So, in our opinion, they are both pretty in their own way and it has to be you who is the one to decide which phone matches your style 😉 !

Looking at the spec table, we can notice many differences between iPhone 6S Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs. Firstly, it is about the display. Android phones in general have been able to reach super high display resolution. For example, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium sports an up to 4K screen, and 2K (aka Quad HD) ones are kind of very popular now. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of them! Besides, it has an S Pen stylus to give people the best experience with the Note.
How about iPhone 6S Plus? Despite being the newest, iPhone 6S Plus is just able to feature Full HD. Is it because Apple thinks that 1080p is enough for a device’s screen smaller than 6 inches? Anyhow, a lot of users admit that 2K is better than the lower for real, which means that Note 5 is somehow the winner at this point! Nonetheless, there is one thing about iPhone 6S Plus that can make you interested in. It is equipped with the new tech 3D Touch, which can detect the pressure applied to the screen to open up new commands.
Secondly, we want to talk about the chip and RAM. In fact, Apple’s chip does not have many cores but its performance is wonderful. And this time, Apple has increased the RAM capacity to 2GB, which will enable the handset to run more smoothly than the previous iPhones. Yet, that is hard to be compared to the powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 5 4GB RAM paired with the octa-core Exynos 740 processor.
Overall, iPhone 6S Plus specs cannot beat Galaxy Note 5 specs, but with the support of iOS 9, the new Apple phone will just be as smooth as Note 5, especially the graphics processing capability.
CONCLUSION
It is too early to conclude which is the best and most worth owning at the moment when both phones have just hit the market not long ago. We still need time to receive feedback from the real users. If you are using them or about to do it, share with us your feelings and experience 🙂 !
Recently, we’ve got some interesting news related to the flagship LG G4 launched in April this year and it will get you excited 😉 !
We all know that LG G4 already has a great set of specs, but now, it will be even more impressive when sporting Zerolemon’s new battery pack for the LG G4 update. Basically, LG G4 just features a 3,000mAh cell but for a flagship containing many top specs like G4, it does not seem enough for most people. If that’s the case, now Zerolemon battery pack for the LGG4 update can help solve the problem easily since it extends the phone’s batt capacity up to 8,500mAh able to provide three-day life, even with fairly heavy use. That’s an amazing battery capacity !
Nonetheless, one thing making us worried is that the phone will look ugly due to such a huge battery. In fact, with the new 8,500mAh cell, LG G4 update measures 21.3mm and weighs 178g (increased from 9.8mm and 155g), not really much heavier but a lot thicker. Though, some others do not care much about that. They just simply like having a phone that does not need charging everyday. Besides, Zerolemon has been able to give the machine a soft-touch plastic back case implementing back-mounted buttons.
For those who feel interested in this new feature of LG G4 update, you can now get the battery with only $59.99 plus an 180-day money back guarantee.
For other LG G4 specs, you can have a look at the following table:

Asus Zenfone Selfie was announced several months earlier, shortly after Asus Zenfone 2 4GB RAM got to their highest peak of the business. The reputation Asus built with their Zenfone 2 beast, together with the craziness towards premium selfie smartphones have brought so much attention to the newly-announced Zenfone Selfie PH back then.
Today, September 11th, 2015, the device has officially arrived and open to sale in our local market, via Lazada Philippines. Asus Zenfone Selfie price in Philippines is PHP 11,995 for 32GB ROM variant. For now, the device is available in Pink color option.

The device has 8MP / 5MP camera sensors like those of a Zenfone 2, but with laser autofocus. This mean the Zenfone 2 Laser can have better focus and take sharper pictures compared to its brother Zenfone 2.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is more affordable than Asus Zenfone Laser
The Zenfone 2 Laser price in Philippines for 16GB ROM version is PHP 7,690. And do not confuse this Zenfone 2 Laser with the 13MP Zenfone Laser launched at the same time with Zenfone Max and Zenfone 2 Deluxe.
Leaksfly, very famous account on Weibo.com – a popular Chinese forum just leaked a piece of news about Qualcomm’s newest chipset Snapdragon 820. In this leaks, he mentioned the first devices that will feature the chipset. Among those, we can see Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro as the recently launched devices.
“Qualcomm S820 starting lineup – (foreign) 1: LG G5 2: Sony Z5 Ultra (domestic) 1: Xiaomi Mi Note 2 2: 2 Pro music as super phone and music as super phone 2 Max expect that you compare a cell phone.”
2015 has been tough on Qualcomm, when their Snapdragon 810 and 615 continuously got many negative feed backs about heating problems. The competition has been harder for them also with the rise of Helio X10 chip set and Exynos 7420.
However, the promising upcoming chip with the name Snapdragon 820 can really be the hero and save the day. According to a Chinese report, the future looks much brighter for Qualcomm with this Snapdragon 820. Up to now, September 2015, there are already more than 30 smartphones lined up to get updates. The number alone proved that the chip set is well developed enough to gain the trust from those smartphone companies not only in China but around the world.
Gizmochina several days earlier also published an article claiming that Xiaomi is working to be the first Chinese smartphone to use Snapdragon 820. As there will be a lot of smartphones (more than 30 of nothing changes) that go with this latest chip set, being the first one to feature, even in China only, can be a very huge advantage for Xiaomi in terms of sales.
On international market, together with the release of the Xperia Z5 series, Sony hinted another device named Xperia Z5 Ultra that will come with Snapdragon 820 SoC. So it is very much likely that beside Xiaomi, Sony are competing to be the first outside China to feature the new SoC on their smartphone.
Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra also save a ticket for Snapdragon 820
If the Snapdragon 820 turns out as good as they say for now (check here for full details), then we will be happily waiting for 2016 to come and test the new SoC.
Apple just launched the iPhone 6S Plus yesterday at a very huge event. The phone excited many people with its beautiful design and a fascinating rose gold color option. However, as it always is, the device has received mixed reactions from the public. Personally speaking, we find 4 following reasons as why not to buy this smartphones considering other choices we can switch to.
1. Very small battery, even smaller than iPhone 6
Introduced after iPhone 6, the 6S Plus is expected to carry updated specs compared to the previous one. However, while the iPhone 6 battery is 1810 mAH, the iPhone 6S Plus battery has only 1715 mAH of capacity. Even if Apple don’t want to target their newest smartphone as a battery beast, 1,715 mAH is quite under average for any smartphone nowadays. I wish they knew that our users love smartphone with decent battery that can work with them for a decent amount of time. If this is not convincing enough, consider how well Onetouch Alcatel Flash Plus sell with 3,500 mAH for only PHP 6,5K.
2. iPhone 6S Plus price in PH will be too expensive
So, do you think that it is mostly expected for a newly-launched iPhone to carry a very hefty price tag? iPhone 6S Plus price at launch date is reportedly US$ 299 when you buy together with the supplier’s service. Although US$ 299 is equivalent to PHP 15K, but there is no way iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines would be around that price range.
Although we can not guess for now the iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines, it could be very high at the first time on sale. So iPhone 6S Plus is definitely not a good choice for those who are looking for a good price device.
3. iPhone 6S Plus 12MP camera is not that impressive
Apple featured 12MP camera as one of the key selling points of this iPhone 6S Plus. However, at the time when we already have smartphones with 13MP camera for a mid-range price tag, will 12MP wow any users? Not to mention with more premium devices, 20MP or even 23MP are more than available. Take a look of the Best smartphones with 13MP for sub PHP 10K to have your comparison 😉
4. The RAM is just under average
Any tech geek or smartphone lover nowadays know that, 4GB RAM is the beast of beast. Any newly launched smartphone with 4GB of RAM and a good combination of specs can easily catch public’s attention and win our heart. Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi, Huawei etc, all big and small brands now feature smartphones with popular 4GB RAM. But the iPhone 6S Plus will still come with a very moderate 1GB of RAM? Hmmm
We will leave the judging for you to make 😉
Yet, there are also GOOD FEATURES we find of the iPhone 6S Plus
However, beside the minus listed above, we do find other good specs of the device. To be honest, Apple have very huge amount of fans, and they must love it for a reason.
iPhone 6 Plus bend test
We may not like it for the tiny battery and RAM, but the iPhone 6S Plus has a very strong Aluminum that is hard to break and protect the device better than ever. Also, Apple’s signature fingerprint sensor is made faster and more secure this time. Many Apple users admit that, one of their most favorite iPhone features is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Above are just what we personally think about the iPhone 6S Plus and what it has to offer. If you have any opposite ideas, please share with us so we can have a fuller view of our users’ expectation 😉
Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have been announced earlier. And as you know, products from Apple, though priced reasonably in the US, cost much higher than it is in our market. For example, iPhone 5s price in the Philippines is more than PHP 30k. That is a huge amount. Therefore, Price Pony gives you a list of the best Android alternatives of iPhone 6s Plus. Whether you want good camera or better RAM, you’d get it.
