Apple has just announced their new products: iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The former comes with a 4.7” screen, while the latter comes with a huge 5.5” one. However, apart from display size, iPhone 6s Plus camera is another feature we want to talk more on. And guess what? It really comes with a 12MP sensor like earlier news and leaks have indicated!
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus camera is now a great 12MP !
iPhone 6s Plus display is a 5.5” screen with Full HD resolution and a 3D Touch technology, which means you can open apps and stuffs by pressing on the screen. It calculates how much pressure you put on it, then open the apps assigned to the level of the pressure.
Moreover, iPhone 6s Plus design sport a A7000 aluminium frame around the body. The device gets Rose Gold for its color option also.
iPhone 6s Plus now comes with beautiful Rose Gold version
For hardware, iPhone 6s Plus specs underwent a major change as well. For example, an A9 chip, which is a new one, powers up the phone. Apple states that the new A9 chip will give the device more processing and performance power. Let us see how the iPhone 6s Plus fare among other flagships when we get our hands on one.
However, the device stays with 1GB of RAM. There are three variants to get: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. iPhone 6s Plus battery is said to be 1715mAh.
The most significant change on this iPhone is its camera. iPhone 6s Plus camera is a huge 12MP, like we previously said. Moreover, it also has optical image optimization to enhance your photo shooting experience. Shooting in low-light environment produces high quality photos as well.
iPhone 6s plus release date and pricing details
According to the photo above, iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 for the 16GB version, which equals PHP 15k. However, this is for the US. We hope iPhone 6s Plus price in the Philippines will be not so pricey. The phone will go on sale on September 25, so it will probably reach the Philippines around October or November.
We have very good news for all fans of High RAM Powered Phones. Samsung started mass production of their new LPDDR4 DRAM, allowing for next Generation 6GB RAM phones. Samsung essentially produced the industry’s first 12Gigabit LPDDR4 RAM with Samsung’s 20nm manufacturing process.
Samsung 6GB RAM phones
The real advantage of those chips is that they have a 50% higher density PCB layout with increased capacity as well as reduced power usage. Both of these are very important factors in small devices like a phone/tablet where every mm2 and mW matters.Pleae note that this is Gigabits, not Gigabytes. 12 Gigabits is around 1.5GB of RAM. Most high end smartphones have four memory dies, that means 1.5GB x 4 = 6GB RAM phones for us.
While some of you might say, what should we do with 6GB RAM, please think about this:
1) As we have newer ultra-high resolution, like Sony Xperia Z5 Premium with 4K Screen, way more RAM needs to be used by the GPU. 6GB RAM is not that unreasonable when a 4K screen has to support 8MP. Compare this to 1MP of most cheaper laptops today.
2) The best part of these new 12Gb LPDDR4 Samsung chips is increased speed. The new chips are 30% faster, which means more bandwith for detailed graphics and general performance. 6GB RAM Phones Release Date in India?
Samsung 6GB RAM phones Prices
Now most of you will likely ask, when do i get to buy 6GB RAM phones? The last time Samsung started mass producing new memory chips, it took about 6 month to be used in a new finished product for retail. That means we will most likely see them around March 2016 in your favorite Smartphones. What do you think about 6GB RAM phones?
Huawei, who just releases Huawei Mate S at IFA 2015, is reportedly said to be making a curved screen smart phone. And yes, we have been seeing the news since last month. However, this time, not only does Huawei make it a curved screen, but also equip it with 2K resolution. Moreover, the display is an AMOLED.
Huawei’s working on a 2K AMOLED display with curved edges for smart phones?
If this is true, then we could expect this phone to be released in the first half of 2016. Imagine Huawei releases a curved screen smart phone with specs of a flagship, and rivals with Samsung’s Edge series! Moreover, as Xiaomi also has plans for an Edge smart phone, we will have more and more unique devices in the market sporting Samsung’s idea of a display.
Huawei does not give any information about the phone’s specs, or what size this display will be. However, as mobile manufacturers are competing with each other on every aspects, we expect the new phone will sport good hardware. For example, it needs at least of 4GB RAM and 5000mAH for such a 2k display.
Since Huawei has not launched any device with QHD resolution yet, we cannot say how good the phone will be. However, as Huawei is the 3rd largest mobile manufacturer now, the company may have boosted their products onto a better level. Many sources state that Huawei is planning to produce around 3 million units of curved screen phone. Therefore, we hope the phone will have a competitive price also.
Price Pony readers, what do you think about this? Will you buy a curved screen smart phone from Huawei? Or is Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ still the best in your heart? Leave us a comment.
Lenovo K80, which has been a top device in its range, sports good specs such as 4GB RAM and 4000mAh. For PHP 13k, Lenovo K80 is a great choice. However, that is not the only good phone you will have. Lenovo K80M, a 2GB RAM version of the phone, is a nice deal for those who want a good phone but still is offered at budget price.
Lenovo K80M display will be a 5.5” IPS screen with 1080p resolution, the same as what we found on Lenovo K80. Moreover, it gets power from a 64-bit Intel Atom processor at 1.8 GHz, which Lenovo K80 also sports. Therefore, we have almost the same power and basic performance on both devices.
The most notable different between Lenovo K80M and Lenovo K80 specs lies in the RAM and ROM. Lenovo K80M only sports 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, instead of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage on the original device.
Even if this is a cheaper version, 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM seems great enough. Moreover, Lenovo K80M battery is still the huge 4000mAh one, which adds more charm to this handset.
Lenovo K80M camera is a 13MP sensor with 5MP front snapper. Moreover, you also get optical image stabilization for better photo quality.
At the moment, there is no info on Lenovo K80M release date outside China yet. However, Lenovo K80M price in the Philippines should be around PHP 8k. Considering this is a good deal, we hope Lenovo will bring the handset to us as soon as possible.
Many smartphone manufacturers work hard to produce the best smartphones with popular features to meet public demands. However, there are many who thrive in building very unique devices with unique features no one else has, or yet to have. Here are the 6 of them for now. We will see if at some points in the future, there will be more devices joining the competition.
Do you remember this unique beast you used to featured on Price Pony? The unique smartphone that is made of alloy and metal, making it the most secure and best shock-resistant smartphone available. We even joked that if you drop this to the floor, the floor breaks.

2. Alcatel Idol 3 – unique reversed smartphone
Alcatel is quite a familiar brand for us already. But have you ever heard of the Alcatel Idol 3, the only phone that can take calls even when hold 180 degree reversed?
The biggest highlight that makes Alcatel Idol 3 a unique smartphone is that it is automatically adjusted by sensing the gravity orientation of the handset and microphone. So even if you turn device is turned upside down, it still work perfectly normal.
Acer Predator 6 is a beast 4GB RAM and deca-core professor. What makes this Predator 6 so unique is that it is targeted for gamers and looks really like that from a move/coffee shop.
Hot topic of IFA 2015? Sony Xperia Premium 4K was the first in the world to come with 4K display. People are curious since they have only seen 4K display in a TV before.
5. Lenovo Vibe S1 dual selfie
Lenovo Vibe S1 was one of the new devices introduced by the manufacturer at IFA 2015. If Lenovo Vibe P1 is famous for its huge 5,000mAh battery, Vibe S1 will be proud of being the world’s first smartphone having a dual front camera.
This special set of selfie cams includes a main 8MP and a secondary 2MP shooter on the front surface. More specifically, the former captures the image while the latter adds the depth-of-field effect to the image by blurring the background.
Huawei Honor 7i is unique device by Huawei with 13MP camera that can flip from the back to the front to allow you to take selfie with the main camera sensor.
Sony just released the newest members of the Xperia Z5 series. This new Xperia Z5 Series also includes the World’s first Smartphone with a 4K Screen, that was highly praised by international media (Despite a hefty price tag). Now we get first news, that this is not the complete Xperia Z5 Line Up, yet.
If you have been following updates about the Xperia Product Line, the Xperia Z5 Ultra is still missing. According to the very reliable @Leaksfly the Sony Xperia Z5 Release Date will be in March 2016. The Later Launch is mostly due to the Usage of the brand new Snapdragon 820 in the Xperia Z5 Ultra, in combination with 4GB RAM.
Other Xperia Z5 Ultra specs will most likely include a 6.44″ 4K Display, with the same 4K technology as Xperia Z5 Premium. With the larger body we expect to also get a larger battery then 3430mAH of the Z5 Premium, hopefully a large 4000mAH plus battery to power the large screen.
When the Sony Xperia Z5 is coming with Snapdragon 820, Sony should also incorporate the same cooling solution, that we saw after the teardown of the Xperia Z5 Premium. The Premium has thermal paste with two copper pipes in touch with the SOC Chipset, to keep the Snapdragon 810 from overheating. The Snapdragon 820 will be based on 14nm FinFET architecture, and less prone to overheating, but Sony should still take cautionary measures.
Most likely we will also see Sony’s highly improved 23MP Main Camera on the Xperia Z5 Ultra, to make it to ultimate Premium Phablet for 2016. The Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra Release Date is mostly likely March 2016. Lets hope Sony will continue what we saw on the awesome Xperia Z5 Line so far and we all get to see the next Killer Phablet from Sony.

Huawei Mate S hardware
The device sports nice 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and an octa core processor. You can also expand storage by using a microSD card. Huawei Mate S battery is a 2700mAh one, so it does not fare well with even sub PHP 10k devices on this.
Huawei Mate S camera
The device’s camera is a 13MP, which is acceptable on nowadays smart phones. However, this camera specs may not earn its much love, since there are better camera phones out there, notably Sony Xperia Z5. Even in its price range, there are many better choices.

Based on the name itself, Lenovo Phab is a hybrid device between a smartphone and a tablet, which comes with a huge display screen of 6.8 inch (while an average tablet is around 8 inch of size). The Lenovo Phab is targeted to users who love to have more space to browse but still handy and convenient to carry along. In terms of Lenovo Tab specs, the device features an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Lenovo Phab design: another clone from iPhone 6S?
From a trustworthy brand, featuring generous screen, good combination of specs and an affordable price are what make this Lenovo Phab worth considering. However, there is another reason why Lenovo Phab is being talked about more than the device itself. Take a look at the Lenovo Phab design, do you feel any familiar? Yes, I am thinking what you are thinking also. Design-wise, this Lenovo smartphone + tablet hybrid looks really like an iPhone 6S with round rears and a fingerprint sensor.
This is not the first time smartphone manufacturers got claimed as copying the design from each other, especially between Android smartphones and iPhone from Apple. It is understandable that the companies “get inspirations” either from their previous signature design or another famous one. However, is it a nice move from Lenovo to launch a smartphone with a similar design to iPhone? Especially when they already had their own brand name with many capable devices both in specs and design? I bet you don’t forget the Lenovo Vibe Shot which looks like a professional camera and very great specs, do you?
You may have seen 8MP, 13MP, then 21MP and recently 23MP on Sony Xperia Z5 smart phones. However, how about 250MP camera sensor for a smart phone? It will take super detailed and clear photos, we suppose. And yes, you will probably see a 250MP camera sensor on a smart phone soon, since Canon is already making one.
Sony Xperia Z5 camera will not be the best 4k video recorder anymore
Canon is already making 250MP camera sensor for your future phone
Canon reportedly said that its 250MP camera sensor can shoot a photo of the letters on airplane, which is flying kilometers away from where the photographer is. Moreover, Canon manages to pack all those pixels on to a very small sensor, which is smaller than 35mm. Although this is too soon to say anything, smart phones will likely sport 250MP camera sensor in the future too.
This 250MP camera sensor will be used in higher technology fields, such as specialized surveillance and crime prevention tools, or medical tools. It seems there will be many usage, but not on commercial cameras yet. Moreover, people state that using such huge sensor for just normal photo shooting is not effective at all.
Right now, the highest resolution camera sensor on a smartphone is 41MP – Nokia Lumia 1020 camera. However, will other companies break this record by releasing a phone with 250MP camera sensor?
Nokia Lumia 1020 camera has the highest resolution camera on smart phones
Can a smartphone camera shoots video with more than 4K resolution? The answer is yes when this 250MP camera sensor can be integrated into your device. Hopefully, when it comes to the Philippines, we can see good specs together with great camera and a reasonable price. In the mean time, we guess we have to wait, and enjoy what we already have first.

Xiaomi disclosed that they would introduce a new laptop next year. Of course, the rumor was way back, but it seems this time Xiaomi will certainly do it. According to the very reliable Bloomberg Financial News, Xiaomi may launch the laptop in the first quarter of 2016, to compete with Apple’s Macbook and other already popular laptop manufacturers in Asia such as Lenovo or Asus.
Xiaomi laptop will come in Q1 2016, a new rival to Apple’s Macbook?
Xiaomi nailed it with their smart phones, becoming a world famous brand after just 5 years. Therefore, there is nothing to stop them from making more devices. A laptop, which is necessary for work, is essential to bring up Xiaomi’s reputation. Moreover, to prevent other companies like Huawei or Meizu from taking its market share, a laptop is also a wise move.
Xiaomi does not announce any of the laptop’s specs. However, we suppose Xiaomi laptop display will be a 15” screen at least. Xiaomi laptop may sport 500GB SSD internal storage. However, it would be nice if Xiaomi makes it for 1TB option. The device should have at least an Intel Core i5 as its processor. The last information we had included also 16GB RAM, but lets see on that part.
Xiaomi laptop will, of course, run on Microsoft Windows as its default OS. However, Xiaomi may even launch the device with its own Linux-based OS. Like Android, Linux is much more easier to customized.
The laptop may feature aluminum alloy for its body. Xiaomi laptop price in Malaysia should be around RM 2000. As we have mentioned, Xiaomi laptop release date would be in Q1 2016. This seems rushed, but if Xiaomi wants to expand their market and sales, they can do it.
Xiaomi laptop may come with the name Xiaomi Mi Notebook
Xiaomi fans, what are you opinions on this? Will you buy a Xiaomi laptop, knowing so well how Xiaomi products will fare? Give us your comments and expectations on this laptop.
