From last month, we have heard about a table called HTC Volantis (aka Flounder). However, only until now did we see very new and interesting details leaked over the internet

According to the leakings from @Evleaks, HTC Volantis tablet may pack a HUGE 5GB of RAM that can make the internet go crazy. Since 4GB RAM is a beast spec that can help any smartphone sells well these days, if this 5GB RAM tablet comes true, there is no doubt it can make great business.

Other HTC Volantis specs we know for now include:

Also from the leaks, @evleaks shared an “HTC Volantis macro shot”, suggesting the device’s code name is Flounder. It also mentioned a line reads “Android Silver OS Alpha 1.4”. Android Silver is Google’s future program that has not even been announced yet. Let’s wait and see if this HTC Volantis tablet will be featuring the brand new OS.

HTC has not announced any further about the Volantis release date, pricing or availability yet. However, it is very much likely that we can see this new HTC tablet in Q4 2015, at the high sales season.

Moreover, having a fingerprint sensor is an appealing feature that gets a smart phone more attention as well. However, is a fingerprint sensor as good as it may seem?

The professionals in this area have checked and tested a lot of fingerprint sensors on many old and new Android phones. They all agree that there are so many bugs and flaws that hackers can focus on. This reminds us of the time in June when Antutu announced a list of top 10 performance smartphones of Q1 2015, with Samsung Galaxy S6 topped the list at 67,520 points. Putting the devices in comparison, it is quite obvious and convincing for us that, with all the Galaxy Note 5 Specs we know for now, the 69,702 Antutu points is totally expected.

Recently, the big name from China, Xiaomi, has reported that they will be making a new chipset also. The new chipset will be used on their next device, an affordable handset named Xiaomi Redmi 2A.

Xiaomi is going to expand to the chipset market too?

According to the news, this chipset will have the same power as Qualcomm Snapdragon 401. With the name of Leadcore LC1860C, this chipset will cost with a lower price than its Qualcomm counterpart. Thus, the price for the device sporting it will also be lowered. Therefore, we can expect a very nice Xiaomi Redmi 2A price.

It seems Qualcomm will have a new rival apart from Mediatek.

XIaomi stated that Xiaomi Redmi 2A price will be around 499 yuan, which is around PHP 3.7k. Xiaomi will equip this chipset on their affordable series – Redmi. However, since the Chinese manufacturer is still new in this field, their higher end handset such as Xiaomi Mi5 will still be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon.

It seems this is the trend for smart phone manufacturers nowadays to produce their own chipset. Samsung, Apple, and Huawei are the leading names, so their rivals will, of course, compete with them in this field too.

Xiaomi Redmi 2A release date is August 8, which is very near. Xiaomi Redmi 2A price will be cut down to 499 yuan , around PHP 3.6k upon release. It will sport a Leadcore LC1860C quad core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 4.7’’ display, and 2200mAH battery.

Recently Cherry Mobile has shared a new mysterious photo on their Facebook fan page implying something about a new Android One smartphone with the hashtag #GoTopNotch. They even triggered people’s curiosity by saying “There’s a ton of reasons to look forward to this August. Stay tuned!”. This has been catching huge attention from the internet.

Some time ago rumours about an affordable version iPhone 6, iPhone 6c, circulating the Internet. Some source said that it woud be released in 2015, but was now canceled. Again, around the past few days, another news came up with the possible launch in Q2 2016 of this Apple product. iPhone 6c display will be smaller than the original, with the appearance of a new 14/16nm chipset, which will be produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Samsung.
