Yu Yureka, ever since its release earlier this year, has been getting a lot of praises for its specs. Recently, the device has gotten an updated version called the Yu Yureka Plus. It seems Micromax will bring a Full HD smart phone to users to replace the old Yureka one.
The original Yu Yureka by Micromax
The updated version, Yu Yureka Plus, will feature a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p display. The pixel density will rise from 267ppi to 401 ppi on the new phone. Therefore, images and video will be more sharp and crisp with better viewing experience for users on this 5.5 inch device.
Another difference is that Yu Yureka Plus will be equipped with a Sony IMX214 sensor for its 13MP camera. Moreover, 5 element Largan Blue lens and f/2.2 architecture are what make up the camera. Although the resolution stays the same as what it is with the original Yu Yureka, the new sensor will certainly boost up the quality of photos taken by this smart phone. It seems that the new version of this device will satisfy Micromax’s photo driven and selfie-focused lovers.
The rest of the phone’s specs remain the unchanged. Yu Yureka Plus will also sports a Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB RAM for its power. 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by microSD card. The phone runs on a 2500mAh battery.
Yu Yureka Plus will be on sale on Amazon at $157, with Moondust gray and Alabaster White for color choice.
This new version of Yu Yureka hopefully will catch the eyes of many technology users. Micromax can absolutely use its name to advance more in the market if Yu Yureka Plus sells well, which it should.

The worldwide popular Japanese company, Sony, is reported to launch Sony Xperia Z5 recently. Sony Xperia series is a top series within the mobile technology market, which keeps Sony firm at its position. Expected to launch Xperia Z5 in Q3, probably this September, Sony is gaining a lot of attention to its brand. More exciting news is that Sony seems to be launching more high-end devices this year, with the rumours of the upcoming Sony Xperia S60 and S70.
The reports from Germany point out that Sony Xperia S60 & S70 will be unveiled before the time of this year’s IFA. It seems the devices will be available in Europe for as soon as mid August, according to European store dealers. The date is supposed to be August 18, though nothing is confirmed at the moment.
There is no exact information about the specs of the two devices. However, rumours have it that both Sony Xperia S60 & S70 will have 32 GB of internal storage. The price is said to be from either $853 USD to $919 USD for Sony Xperia S70, which indicates the two to be high end smart phones.
The Z series devices are Sony’s main aces
Both devices are expected to be available in sereval color options, such as white, black, yellow and Coralie for Xperia S60. Meanwhile, Xperia S70 seems to be available in white, black, gold and green. While both devices seem really appealing upon reaching this state, these are still rumours. Therefore, we should take the information leaked online light-heartedly. However, if these two are really coming in August, then it will be a joy to see whether these “to-be” flagships from Sony have any amazing and stunning features to be wowed at.
You can read more about Xperia Z5 news here while waiting for more information from Sony.
Recently, Xiaomi Mi4i has been brought to the Philippines by Xiaomi Philippines’ official branch. The phone seems to be doing well with its popularity. With order starting from July 29, this device will sell probably sell well. Meanwhile, Meizu M2 Note has been trending since June.
Both smart phones have notable high specs while being in the same range, and choosing between them will certainly be a difficult job if we do not have any criteria. Therefore, let us take a quick look at both of them through these points:
Design
Xiaomi Mi4i weighs 130g and being 7.8mm thick, while Meizu M2 Note weighs 149g and being 8.7 mm thick. The differ in weight will not be felt much, but sure we can actually tell which one is thinner upon using.
Xiaomi has 5 inch display, and Meizu M2 Note has a 5.5’’ one. Though having a bigger screen, Meizu M2 Note has the same resolution of 1080 x 1920 p as Xiaomi’s screen, so its pixel density is lower. Therefore, Xiaomi Mi4i will certainly produce better quality images.
Performance
Xiaomi Mi4i sports a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615, Octa core processor for its CPU and Adreno 405
As its GPU. Those chipset and GPU are considered better than M2 Note’s MT6753 and Mali-T720MP3. However, Meizu M2 Note comes with microSD support, while Mi4i does not. It will be a pain thinking of buying the Mi4i without any way to upgrade internal storage. Therefore, it is somehow a tie between the two.
Camera
The cameras on both devices have the resolution of 13MP, which is perfect for such prices. Especially, Meizu M2 Note can capture 4k video, which is a plus for recent devices. Xiaomi Mi4i lacks in the video feature though. However, both are all killers in the camera aspect.
In term of battery, both Meizu M2 Note and Xiaomi Mi4i boast more than 3000mAh battery. This means the two phones can perform perfectly all day without any worry about power.
Overall
Meizu M2 Note and Xiaomi Mi4i are strong, stunning devices for this year’s list of top smart phones. If you’d prefer power and speed, Xiaomi Mi4i is the deal. If you want some high quality camera for both photo shooting and video recording, Meizu M2 Note is for you. Xiaomi Mi4i and Meizu M2 Note are always smart choices.
Recently, there were a lot of released smart phones with 4k video recording support. With Oneplus One as the first device to be able to, many smart phones produced later on are integrated with this feature, making the market full of potential and amazing camera-focused smart phones.
PricePony’s list of smart phones with 4k resolution video recording support
Oneplus One is the first mobile device to record at 4096×2160@24fps (DCi-4K) and 3840×2160@30fps. Released last year, OnePlus One was one of the most prominent smart phones, bringing the brand a lot of attention.
Having a 20.7 MP camera that supports 4k recording is not something every smart phone on the market does. Meizu MX5 is special for this. Moreover, the phone also has a fingerprint sensor, which is a plus point.
These flagships from Samsung certainly bring a lot of attention for the brand. Not only having an elegant design and unique features, which include 4k recording, the two devices are also top-notched powerhouse.
HTC One M9
Release in March, HTCOne M9 is a killer phone with many high specifications. From hardware to its camera, the phone can win in any battle with any of the same end. 4k video recording seems just one of the great aspects it can offer.
As reviewed in many websites and technology blogs, LG G4 is a big name for its camera feature. Moreover, LG has remarkable display and battery, which make this device a must-have for many technology lovers.
One of the most famous mobile brand, Sony has provided its flagship with 4k video recording together with dust proof and water proof. Sony Xperia Z3 is something your want to get your hands on.
This 6 inch smart phone sports a lot of powerful and amazing features apart from its 4k video recording. The big screen enhances video playback from the camera and the phone can even record video underwater. Another notable feature is its slow motion recording.
This feature was not announced upon the release of iPhone 6, but it can actually record 4k video through the function of an UHD app. However, as Apple does not say anything about it, it’s best that we wait for the company’s next flagship to see the official 4k feature.
Honor 4C is a budget flagship from Huawei with very nice specs and good looking design for the sub PHP 7K price tag. In the time where we can find flagship smartphones everywhere but not all will perform well after a while, we want to give you a closer look in to the devices we think can be good deal for their money. And let’s start with this Honor 4C.
The first impression every user can have from a smartphone is its design. To be very fair, Honor 4C does not look really special compared to others mid-range handsets. It has quite a thick body and looks a bit bulky regards of its real size. However, the Honor 4C feels safe and stable in the hand, which makes it worth considered.
With 5” and 720 IPS display, the Honor 4C screen resolution is quite good for its price range. Real experience shows that the colors displayed on the screen is mild and pretty, which goes well with public demand.
In terms of specs, Honor 4C features octa-core with Kirin 620 processor from Hisilicon – the baby company of Huawei – specialized in producing chip sets for smartphone producers. Although Hisilicon is not as well known as MediaTek that many other budget flagships packs, the processor works quite well under the speed of 1.2GHZ and 64 bit bases.
With dual SIM 3G, 2GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage (SD card slot supported also), hands-on testing shows that the Honor 4C runs quite smoothly. The device is powered by 2,550mAH. This is far away from 4000 mAH in flagships like Lenovo K80 but is above average for a sub PHP 7k smartphone.
Huawei Honor 4C cameras are pretty nice too. The rear camera features 13MP with Sony BSI CMOS and 88 degree wide lens with 5MP resolution for selfie shooter.

Front: 5 MP, 1440p@30fps
Battery
removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh
Non-removable Li-Ion 2600 mAh
Design and dimensions
Both smart phones have nearly the same dimensions, with LG G4 being 148.9 x 76.1 x 6.3 – 9.8 mm and Samsung Galaxy S6 being 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. Weighing 155g, LG G4 is a bit heavier than the S6.
The display of Samsung Galaxy S6 is 5.1’’, while LG G4 is 5.5’’ with both phones having the same resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixel. However, since S6 has smaller screen size, its pixel density is higher (577 ppi > 533 ppi). Both have Corning Gorilla Glass for protection, and Samsung has the updated version for its flagship. In these aspects, it seems Samsung wins as Galaxy S6 seems to have better features.
Power and performance
LG G4 has a Quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57, while Samsung Galaxy S6 has a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57. It seems Samsung has better power than LG G4. Moreover, as both have 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage (for the standard versions), Samsung wins over. However, if one considers having microSd support as an important feature, then LG G4 will win. S6 offers a variety of versions depending on internal storage though. Therefore, this is a tie between the two, with Samsung being the better choice.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs LG G4 Camera
The cameras on both phones are 16MP with 4k video recording supported. Features such as laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash appear on both. However, LG G4 seems to have better shock proof and focus feature. S6 has many effects that can be integrated into the camera before shooting, while LG G4 has many manual modes which allows users to alter the speed of the shutter. Many camera tests shows that G4 produces more detailed photos. Additionally, the front camera of G4 is an 8MP one, while Samsung is just a 5Mp one. LG G4 wins this round with its great camera. It really deserves the top position for camera within the list of recent flagship.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs LG G4 Battery
The battery of LG G4 is 3000mAh removable, while S6’s is 2600mAh and non-removable. It seems like a tie again between the two. G4 has more endurance, but the non-removable battery means a tougher phone. However, the cons of the non-removable battery seems to outweight its pros, that’s why LG G4 wins again this round.
In conclusion
LG G4 beats Samsung Galaxy S6 in camera, while Samsung Galaxy S6 wins for its performance. However, the brand names can also make a lot of different. It seems that LG does not do well with G4 ever since its release according to the news, however good it is. PricePony’s readers, how about your choice? Will it be LG G4 for better camera and battery, or Samsung Galaxy S6 for better performance?
