As promised, the Asus Zenfone 2 Launch Event in India did take place today. The company introduced 2 models with 4 variants of the flagship killer Asus Zenfone 2. All of them will be available on Flipkart with prices ranging from Rs 12,999 (PHP 9088) to Rs 22,999 (PHP 16080).

The Asus Zenfone 2 is easily accessible to all customers as it is not sold through a flash sale event. Two models that are brought to India this time are this highest ZE551Ml and the mid-end ZE550ML. All are called Zenfone 2 but they can be told apart by the chipset, the RAM and the internal storage.

The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551Ml

This model has three version. All have 5.5” fHD display, 13MP/5Mp cameras, 3000 mAh battery, Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed, dual SIM and LTE connectivity.

The first version, also the most powerful one, features 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom A3589 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. The second version also comes with 4GB RAM but a bit lower 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor and 32GB of on-board storage. The last version sports a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Memory card slot appears in all versions.

The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML

This mid-end model still shows up in a 5.5” display but with lower resolution (1,280 × 720 pixels). the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML runs on 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable via microSD card). Cameras and battery remain unchanged like the ZE551ML model with 13MP/5MP cameras and 3000 mAh battery keeping the light on.

Mi Philippines has finally revealed the price and release date of its largest power bank so far for the Philippines market through a video on Mi Philippine FB fanpage, a 16000 mAh Mi Power Bank. Starting tomorrow, at noon (12pm), the Mi Power bank will go on sale on Lazada’s site.

Following the design standpoint of its sibling, the 10400 mAh one, the 16000 mAh Mi Power Bank features an anodized metal casing that’s CNC-machined from a single piece of aluminum and curved edges. Without a Mi logo on one side of the device, one may think this is a product coming from Apple.

Two variants announced for the Philippines are the entry-level ZE550CL and the ZE551ML. The high-end ZE551ML will have two different version in total. One features 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor plus 2GB RAM and one sports 2.3GHz 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor paired with 4GB RAM.

The reason for producing this power bank is that Asus has foreseen the potential development in this industry. Like Xiaomi, this Taiwanese company has started producing its own power bank. The Asus Zenpower is a 10050 mAh power bank which helps you a lot whenever your phone battery is low.

The Asus Zenpower adopts an aluminum body case like Xiaomi’s Power Bank but in a more boxy shape. Asus Zenpower differentiates itself in 5 anodised aluminum colors: black, gold, red, blue and silver. A rubber cover in the same 5 colors is also added for protection. This Zenpower is claimed to be as small as a credit card in a dimension of 90.5 x 59 x 22mm and weighs only 215g.

A 10050 mAh Panasonic battery cell is packed on the inside of this small Zenpower. You can check the battery level by looking at the 4 LED indicator lights. A huge power button is on the same edge with the 4 LED lights.

The Zenpower offers only one micro USB plug and one full-sized USB plug. Instead of using standard 2.0A or 2.1A charger output, the company pushes 2.4A charger output for quickly charging. The Asus Zenpower itself is a 2.0A input, which will take 5.5 hours of charging according to the brochure.

The Asus Zenpower retail price in the Philippines is not confirmed yet but we can expect it is around PHP 920. This price is converted from the Asus Zenpower official price in Indonesia (Rp 269,000).

Asus Zenpower together with the Asus Zenfone 2 release date in the Philippines is close as an Asus representative has confirmed it will hit the shelves this May.

Obviously, Asus Zenfone 2 is now the most anticipated smartphone in the world. This morning, Asus held an official launch for the South East Asia markets in Jakarta, Indonesia. And here it is, the 2015 flagship killer Asus Zenfone 2 finally comes to the town, Philippines included.

Two versions that are launched in this event is the highest version ZE551ML and the slightly lower-end one ZE550ML. It seems like we are not getting the entry-level variant in the occasion.

The higher-end ZE551ML features a 5.5” fHD (1920×1080 pixels) powered by a quad-core 64-bit 2.3GHz Z3580 Intel Atom processor, a13MP f/2.0 rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, massive 4GB RAM. 32GB is the internal storage capacity. A premium 64GB version was introduced this morning as well.

The mid-end variant ZE550ML also sports a 5.5” HD display but with lower specs, of course. An 1.8GHz Z3560 quad-core Intel Atom CPU is equipped inside the device paired with 2GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage (expandable via microSD card).

Both phones will come out of the box with Android 5.0 pre-installed, ZenUI 2.0 on top, a pretty generous 3000 mAh battery and LTE connectivity. An extra 5GB ASUS web storage.is what the company offers to its loyal customers.

The Asus Zenfone 2 price in the Philippines is not official yet but we hope it makes no difference compared to the price in Indonesia.

No.1, a Chinese brand known for its affordable but powerful knock offs, is interested in growing smartwatch industry.

The flagship Sony Xperia Z4 has finally been launched after days of waiting. The company answers previous rumors by a press release which makes its latest product, the Sony Xperia Z4, become real.

This handset is shipped with a 5.2” fHD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display. Powering the phone is a 2.0 GHz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is an innovation in the storage section where on the Z3 is just of 16GB. Of course, there is still a memory card slot that supports up to 128GB. Android 5.0.2 comes pre-installed out of the box.

Camera is the most noticeable section on this new flagship. Packing a 20MP BSI sensor, rear camera is expecting to deliver high-quality pictures just the other phones in the Z series did. Also, the main camera is capable of recording 4K video at up to 30fps. Cooking mode is added in order to offer you better pictures of your meals. A wide-angled 5MP front camera taking care of video calls and selfie purposes.

The new Sony Xperia Z4 is said to have 6.9mm in thick and 144g in weigh, which means it is 0.4m thinner and 8g lighter than its predecessor, the Z3. Sacrificing battery capacityis what the company has done to retain such impressive figure. Instead of 3200 mAh, the battery capacity on the Sony Xperia Z4 is reduced to 2930 mAh but the company believes that it can last for 2 days in normal condition. As you would expect from a flagship Sony Xperia, it is dustproof and waterproof at IPX5/8, IP6X, which means it can stay 1.5m under water for around 30 minutes.

There are four color alternatives for this model, including White, Black, Copper and Aqua Green. Accessories will be in the same four colors too like the Cover Window case, which let you know the important information while still protect your phone. It is priced at around $59 (which is equivalent to PHP 2608). There will be a desktop holder docking the phone and recharging it.

According to the leaked documents, LG PH is supposed to have a promotional campaign to position LG G2 and LG G Pro 2 against Zenfone 2.

The promotional campaign is supposed to be around the last week of April or the first week of May to coincide with the projected release of the Zenfone 2 in the Philippines. As said in the documents, the new suggested retail price of LG G2 in the Philippines will be Php12,990 for the 16GB model and Php14,990  for the 32GB model. As for LG G Pro 2, it will be priced at Php14,990 in the Philippines for 16GB model. However, to promote these 2 products, a free LG L40 smartphone will be enclosed with each handset of LG G2 or LG Pro 2 smartphones sold.
