New Fire Emblem game is coming to the 3DS!

Recently, it has been all about the new Switch device for Nintendo. From the time it was first announced, the hype keeps intensifying each day. Recently, more details about this Nintendo Switch has been revealed, and it certainly is appealing. The first batch of pre-orders has been sold out quickly. As this new console is deemed the trump card of Nintendo to compete with Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox, it is natural for people to think the 3DS will be in the backstage, or even worse, cease to exist. However, recently, a new game of a huge franchise is reported to be coming soon for the 3DS!

Nintendo has just announced an addition to the Fire Emblem franchise for the 3DS. The new game will be called Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. This game is inspired by the old version Fire Emblem Gaiden, which was a Japan-exclusive game, and was launched way back in 1992. The game is expected to come out on May 19 this year, for the 3DS exclusively. So, if you still own an 3DS, you will get a new game from a great franchise.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be a story of two protagonists: Alm and Celica. In their world, there are two gods, one is peace-loving while the other is war-hungry. Although this is not a new settings, as many games have done it (even in the Fire Emblem franchise as well), Nintendo promises some twists on the story. Same goes for the combat system of this new Fire Emblem game, as there will be free roaming and “flexible character progression”, whatever that means. So, it will have a unique touch to it.

New Fire Emblem game means the 3DS will still stay for a while

With this new Fire Emblem game, the 3DS will have one more addition to its roster of games, and players will have a reason to stick with the device at least for a little while. If you own a 3DS, prepare to get this game on May 19!
