Vivo has been on a roll lately with their new releases! Recently, there are two mid-range Vivo phones have appeared on TENAA listing with 6.2-inch displays. Keep reading for more details!

Mysterious Vivo phone

Two new mid-range Vivo phones get TENAA approval.

Recently, two unknown Vivo phones just popped up in TENAA listings, revealing their model numbers and some bits about the hardware. They appear to belong to the same line as evidenced by their screen sizes. The devices called V1803BA and V1730DT respectively, and feature almost identical dimensions and weight. Judging by the specs, the V1730DT should be the more premium model with a 6.2-inch display, tall aspect ratio and 1080 x 2280 pixel resolution. However, it does settle for the lower clocked 1.8 GHz octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

The processor matches the Snapdragon 636, but it could also be a new chipset altogether. The V1803BA, on the other hand, comes with 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, again the same 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage as well as a 6.2-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1520 pixel resolution. Those point to Snapdragon 625 chipset, which would align with the more budget range. The rest of the specs on both phones are identical. To be specific, there’s a dual camera system on the back (13MP+2MP), 8MP front-facing snappers, rear-mounted fingerprint readers, and 3,180 mAh batteries.

Vivo phones

Both devices come running Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS out of the box. Also on board is 4G LTE, VoLTE, microSD, and a 3.5mm headphone jack support. There’s only one Gold colour option for the V1803BA, while the V1730DT gets Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, Matte Black options. Currently, no release date is yet known for the two new devices.

Today, the company announced that the Vivo X21 system update is now available with a focus on enhancing the fingerprint recognition experience. The update log shows that it will improve the phone’s fingerprint recognition processing logic as well as the security and efficiency of fingerprint recognition module. In addition, Vivo X21 also added new features such as AR-based emojis called Funmoji, optimised the driving setting with more comfortable driving experience.

At the system level, the latest update showcases the status bar icon layout, displays more elements; maximized the system resource scheduling mechanism, and improved the system operating efficiency. Now, let’s look at the phone’s specs again. In details, Vivo X21 specs pack a large 6.28-inch Super AMOLED screen with resolutions of 1080 x 2280 pixels and a notch on the top. Three new Vivo midrange models are coming soon

It looks like the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has been pretty busy in the market lately. After a mysterious device spotted on Geekbench yesterday, THREE more Vivo midrange models appeared on TENAA listing. In details, the trio goes with model numbers Vivo V1732A, V1732T and V1801A0. First, the Vivo V1801A0 looks like a higher model than the other two and we believe it could be the upcoming Vivo V9.

The device includes a 6.26-inch TFT display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080p. Underhood, it takes power from an unnamed processor with CPU clocked at 2.2GHz. The Vivo V9 camera bears a dual setup and it also packs a 3180mAh battery pack. On the other hand, the Vivo V1732A and V1732T models have the same design and specs lineup. Perhaps they are the same device but with different storage capacity.

Vivo midrange models

These two models could belong to the company’s Y-series, likely under the name Vivo Y81. The listing reveals the two likely to take power from the Mediatek Helio P60 chipset with CPU clocked at 2GHz. Regarding the storage, there is 3GB RAM and maybe a 4GB variant, while the internal storage is 64 GB. Photography-wise, there is only one camera on the back that is 8 MP (but reaches 13 MP with software enhancements), while the selfie cam is 5 MP. The models do not have fingerprint scanners but pack a 6.22-inch display. Lastly, both models will bear a battery capacity of 3180mAh.

Prior to the poster revealed yesterday, a video showing the full design of the phone has surfaced online today. We can confirm that Vivo NEX first look is the same as it appears in the poster: an all-screen display without a notch or unnecessary bezels plus a pop-up front-facing lens. There is a bit more of a chin than we hoped though. Regardless, this phone is one of the very first genuinely all-screen devices, preceding the current trend of notching the display to house the sensors up-front.

The pop-up selfie cam gets a right amount of screen time in the video, with many of the contestants staring at it gently sliding out of the top of the device. There’s a rumour that Vivo will also release another version of the NEX without the pop-up camera but instead move it to the chin. There’s also no fingerprint sensor on the back of the device because it’s going to be underneath the display.

The video doesn’t show the fingerprint sensor in action, but towards the end when the actor is yelling about the phone, you can see the fingerprint icon near the bottom. Recently, our sources reported that Vivo is holding an event in Shanghai, China on June 12. In details, there were promo materials sent out by the company; which clearly depict a Vivo APEX look-alike with the pop-up selfie cam. Apparently, this news is real since the company just revealed a poster online, showing the outline of a phone and a pop-up front-facing lens. As seen in the promo pic, this design will allow the phone to have an all display without a notch or unnecessary bezels.

Moreover, we believe the model will come in three variants: two powered by the Snapdragon 710, one with the SnD 845. They include the Vivo NEX, NEX S and NEX A. Unfortunately, it only certified that they support fast 5V/2A, 9V/2A and 10V/2.25A charging over USB-C. On top of that, the NEX S has now surfaced on the database of benchmark website GeekBench with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chip.

Recently, a grand smartphone from Vivo has surfaced online which indicates that the company is planning to announce a new flagship series. Goes by the name Vivo NEX, we expect the phone to be similar to the Vivo APEX model with a high screen to body ratio and hi-end hardware specifications. Besides, an image of Vivo NEX renders has appeared on a Weibo account, which reveals the basic hardware info of the alleged device.

For starter, the leaked image suggests that the handset features a nearly bezel-less screen but without any notch at the top. Moreover, Vivo NEX specs would come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. Also, the phone runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) based operating system with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top. Other features include an on-screen fingerprint sensor on the front and a pop-up camera module similar to Vivo APEX.

In addition, the leak indicates a 4,000 Yuan of pricing. On a side note, this device looks identical to the Vivo APEX which will transfer from concept phone to official on June 12 in China. Vietnamese brand Mobiistar relocated to India

Recently, Vietnamese smartphones brand Mobiistar has entered the Indian market to compete with other Chinese flagships (Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi) and has marked this country as its global headquarter. Carl Ngo – CEO of Mobiistar – shared with ET: “4G smartphones are trending in India, and is growing fast. This is the market where all the major things in the mobile industry are happening. Succeeded or not, it’s too early to tell. But this is the targeting market that we want to try”.

He also added: “After looking at the figures and growth size of the country, I have decided to move here. The idea is to run global operations in India. I am here full time.” On a side note, the company has already signed with manufacturer V-Sun Technologies to assemble handsets. Furthermore, the company is setting up SMT (Surface-mount technology) for the printed circuit board. Moreover, the company is also focusing on the selfie segment, which is largely contributed by Oppo and Vivo.

According to Carl’s words, the company will launch such devices in the Rs 6,000-Rs 10,000 price category via online channels; then expand their price range offline.
