Xiaomi had a great year business-wise. This Chinese flahship vendor will sold over 60 million handsets this year, which is 41 million units more than last year when the company moved “only” 19 million units. Xiaomi is now the third largest smartphone maker in the world, according to Bloomberg. Xiaomi is going global to wide its business to other diffent markets, such as: Latin America, India, South-East Asia and Russia. It will apparently be interesting to see will things work out for Xiaomi in the next years.

Xiaomi not want to share the market share, of course, especially in China. That ambition urged more 100% its effort to exceed the targets. And it is a certain thing to create a new device, also based on the predecessor -Mi4- the hottest smartphone of Xiaomi currently. So it’s the reason why Xiaomi Mi5 was created. Clearly, the Chinese firm would have already started the early stages of their design for the model to be ready when the business cycle Xiaomi Mi4 is between a phase of commercial decrease.

Mi4 is Xiaomi’s current smartphone, no doubt, is really great, at an extremely impressive price with high-quality specs. Huawei is one of those manufacturers who have been getting a good year  this year. Huawei has launched its flagship smartphone, the Honor 6, in August this year, and now the popular Chinese flagship maker is upgraded an new edition, most probably as the Honor 6 Plus. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus device was introduced at TENAA. The handset is going to be officially unveiled on Dec. 16.

The phone specs leaked already on ANTUTU pre Launch. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus will due to come with a 5.5” full HD supporting TFT display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is powered by an octacore processor that delivers a clocking speed of 1.8 GHz. It is incorporated with 3 GB of RAM which is par with other flagship devices.

According to the Chinese Media the Huawei Honor 6 Plus will probably be launched at a initial price of 3299 Yuan, which is equivalent at 536 USD or PHP 24069. That is a little high, but the dual cameras and 3D image capturing maybe worthy for its price. Samsung’s revenue and profits have been marginally decreasing in recent months, and seemingly it has given the company inspiration to redefine the priorities and highly concentrate on creating new trends.

Although 16 megapixel in main camera is a good spec, but hopefully S6 will have upgraded to different Galaxy S5.

Although no hearing any official confirmation of Meizu about the existence of Meizu phone priced at 1000 yuan (PHP 7328). However, there was a news on GFX Bench mentioned about a new device, named Meizu K52. There’s no smoke without fire. And interestingly, this phone has many similarities with this mentioned mobile.

No matter the truth is, let take a quick look about this new one. The recent exposure of the K52 is clearly qualified 1000 Yuan Meizu, this new eight-core processor with a MTK6752 CPU 8 Cores are clocked at 1.7Ghz supplemented 1.9G + 12G memory. Apparently, the MT6752 is not as strong as the Meizu’s MX4 MT6595 CPU, but at least you get 64BIT and LTE Support. The screen is 4.6inches 1080P screen is yet to be confirmed, confirmed Meizu thousand Yuan’s screen is smaller than the Desire 820s, may be 5 inches. It runs on Flyme based on Android 4.4. But the detail of camera don’t be revealed until now.

To continue naturally the flagship device line, the last year’s M7 and this year’s M8, which by common logic, a new device should be launched, and should be named M9 (unless HTC planned to create an all-new line of devices).

Apparently, big screens on smartphones looks like to be trendy today. On last 28th, Dec, Chinese smartphone manufacture Oppo was in the news once again, with its unannounced Oppo R8207 made an appearance on the Chinese certification authority TENAA. Oppo R8207 was inherited from the design of the original Oppo R1. However, specs have been improved in order to show off the Oppo’s desire to create more better mobile. Oppo has upgraded the processing power to an octacore 1.5Ghz SoC that was guessing a new Snapdragon octacore. As far as the specs, the Oppo R8207 includes 5-inch 720 x 1080p display. Besides in the hardware, that it reports a RAM of 2GB and 16GB of storage with an SD card slot. And about the photography part, it likes many other device with 13 MP rear-facing camera, 5 MP front-facing camera.

In addition, you will notice that it might has a slight similarity with iPhone 6, for instance. It has a square apperance and a bezel design on the top and bottom of the front of the device as well as being super thin, measuring only 6.85 mm. This design will absolutely attract to many people, if Oppo can just price the R8207 appropriately.  Then it is no doubt that this device will have a good chance of selling very well with the specs it possesses.

The China-based’ suppliers are trying continuously to gain the market, especially in the local market. Huawei and Xiaomi are one of the strongest rivals companies untill now. And it looks like they have strong ambition to take on the the other. But what’s about the last result?

According to Taiwan’s DigiTimes Research – a reliable website in Taiwan, Huawei, not Xiaomi, was No1 China-based smartphone manufacture with a total shipments of 14.8 Million smartphones in Q3 2014.

Huawei was chased closely by Xiaomi Technology with 13.5 million shipments. Although there is still raising an argument between this result with the international reports of  IHS iSuppli and IDCS.

Besides that, according to the its report, some next positions comes to Lenovo with 10.1 Million Units, TCL with 10 Million units, OPPO with 9.8 MIllion UNits, BBK 8Million Units, Coolpad 6.4 Million. Gionee 6.3 Million and ZTE 5.9 Million Units.

All together, according to the latest Digitimes Research, China-based makers shipped an amazing number of 111.1 million devices in Q3 2014, increased 5.6% on the same quarter and 44.1% compared to the last year. Nearly 40% of those was shipped abroad, increased 7.6% on quater and 53% on year.

It seems that Xiaomi concentrated more on local market, with a small shipments of only 5.4 % contrast to Huawei with 42.6% exported shipments.

An interesting addition, 5/10 top smartphone vendors this year come from China.  Xiaomi was the leader with an increasing of  200% compare to the last year.

It is clear that the Chinese market is really hot and cannot deny the future of smartphones over the world seems to be from China. Almost China’s brand take us many reasonable price, high-quality specs was completely satisfied all of us and the fans and customers thanks to that.

In a previous announcement, Xiaomi had huge plans for 2014, in terms of going global. Therefore, Xiaomi attended to enter ten countries by the end of the year. “Earlier this year, we talked about wanting to be in 10 markets within 2014,” Xiaomi global VP Hugo Barra said. Buying Mi3 in India, Brasil, Russia as well as Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam are its selected markets.

While it has already entered some of those countries, Xiaomi will seemingly unable to touch in all of them this year.  And it looks like it doesn’t want anymore. “We realized that it’s a smarter thing to do to scale back a bit and put a ton of effort in India and Indonesia before expanding further.”, said he.

As you know, Xiaomi is now the third largest Smartphone manufacture in the word and has extreme ambition to beat out Apple vs Samsung. To achieve that, Xiaomi needs to establish a strong foothold in various international markets.  And although, Xiaomi has so far steered clear of wester countries such as US, UK and Ustralia, but it’s more nescessary to expand slowly, only entering a new market after it’s brought all of its products to the previous one.

Actually, Xiaomi entered India and Indonesia in 2014 already. In India, the company has huge sales on Smartphone products from 50,000 per week to 200,000 to meet demand. According to a Xiaomi representative, the corporation normally sells between 65,000 to 100,000 units per week. Xiaomi is also discovering choices with Foxconn to produce its phones in India or Indonesia.

Slow expansion to focus on India and Indonesia is obviously the smart thing to do. The next country in which Xiaomi will sell its products will be Brazil, but until to the first half of 2015. After that, it will finally make it to Thailand, Russia, Mexico, and Turkey.
