Recently, Samsung has come up with a new method of securing your smartphones by using blood flow patterns. Check it out for more information!
Samsung’s latest technology identifies users by using their Blood Flow Patterns
After bringing fingerprint scanner and iris scanner to smartphones, Samsung is going to bring one more security system using blood flow patterns. Previously, Samsung has already brought a heart rate sensor on their Galaxy S and Note series. According to the patent of Samsung, it is titled “Real-Time Authentication Based on Blood Flow Parameters”. The patent describes a method to identify users by blood flow patterns in the finger or in the wrist.
This means of security might be more reliable and safe to protect your smartphones from hackers. Besides, the patent also displays that both smartphones and smartwatches are using this technology. The smartphones house this sensor on the back, where we mostly find the fingerprint scanner. This blood sensor records the blood flow data to generate a waveform pattern for the authentication.
However, this new software has to take into account the change in the blood pressures due to user’s physical and mental status. It would be fascinating to see how Samsung can tackle this blood flow variability. We expect that Samsung might also be working on laptops to apply this innovative security system for authentication.
When will this security system be shipped with gadgets?
The availability of this new technology on devices is still unclear now. There is some information that Samsung Galaxy S9 might come with this technology as well as its latest confirmed “Intelligent Scanner”. At the moment, the most innovative system is belonging to Apple FaceID of iPhone X. Can Samsung beat Apple with their new advanced development with unlocking features? Share with us your ideas and stay tuned!
Apple iPhone X is receiving a poor shipment this year with only 29 million unit sold. At the moment, Samsung OLED Business is facing some troubles due to the sale of Apple iPhone X. Take a look below for more details!
Low Apple iPhone X demand slows down Samsung OLED business!
Last year, the market attention focused only on Apple iPhone X with some innovative advancements. Soon, the smartphone community lost their interest due to some significant problems of this flagship. In the latest reports, Apple only shipped 29 million units of Apple iPhone X. On the contrary, last year, Apple had succeeded to sell around 78,3 million iPhones 7 in only one quarter. The poor shipment of iPhone X does not only poorly influence Apple but also the giant Samsung manufacturer as well.
Samsung, the Korean tech giant, is the sole OLED supplier of Apple. Right after the report of iPhone X poor sale, Samsung is decreasing the production rate of one OLED factory by 10%. Furthermore, this manufacturer is also postponing the expansion plans in Vietnam due to the uncertainty of Apple flagship future. According to a report, “the A3 plant is specifically designed to supply panels to Apple only. Unless supplies to Apple do not recover, it is unavoidable for Samsung to see weaker earning this year”.
Furthermore, in another report, Apple is going to launch 2 LCD and 1 OLED smartphones this year. However, this move of Apple does not help Samsung at all since Apple might LG as the primary supplier for their 5.85” and 6.46” screen.
The Future of iPhone
At the moment, another subsidiary of the Korean company, LG Chemical, is working on an L-shaped battery plant. We expect this battery box is about to ship with future Apple iPhone. The mass production of the power cells might start this year. Stay tuned!
In the latest Counterpoint’s reports, Xiaomi has surprisingly surpassed Samsung to become the number one smartphone manufacturers in India for Quarter 4 2017! Scroll down to check out more details on this report!
Xiaomi is now the top smartphone brand in India in Q4 2017!
Yesterday, two market research companies – Canalys and Counterpoint released their insight report on India’s smartphone segment in 2017. According to Canalys, the India smartphone market increased 6% last year, reaching a total of 30 million mobile shipments. Surprisingly, the Chinese brand takes the lead this time with 8.2 million units. As a result, they have managed to surpass the giant Samsung with only 7.3 million devices.
Together, Xiaomi and Samsung dominated the India smartphone category with more than 50 percent total market shares in India. In details, Xiaomi owns 27 percent share, on the other hand, Samsung has 25 percent of the shipments. Moreover, Vivo, OPPO and Lenovo follow after at the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. It looks like all these Chinese smartphone brands have had a great year.
Regarding Xiaomi’s achievement, Canalys’s Research Analyst Ishan Dutt has shared his idea. “Their results are praiseworthy since they entered the market just three years ago. Also, multiple factors have contributed to the company’s growth. But the key reason lies in the autonomy that it granted its Indian unit, letting it run the business locally. Localization in channel strategy, marketing and products have been evident in Indian operations.” On the other hand, the report also stated the reason behind Samsung’s declined. Their loss comes from its incapacity to develop their low-cost product portfolio. The Korean brand has been unable to win over consumers, losing market share in the sub-INR15,000 (US$240) segment to Xiaomi quarter after quarter. Notably, Xiaomi is currently ruling this sections with their Redmi series.
Will Xiaomi continue its success in 2018?
In 2018, Xiaomi is planning to release more handsets in India market, from the mid-range Mi 6X to the flagship Mi 7. Moreover, other Chinese brands such as Huawei or Vivo are also aiming to push more products to the market. Will Samsung be able to regain their top position? Or Xiaomi is going to dominate the India market again? What do you think? Drop a comment to let us know!
Recently, AnTuTu has published their yearly report about one interesting topic: the smartphone clones. Which brand has the most number of cloned Android phones? Read on to find out!
The Most Cloned Android Phones In 2017 Comes from…!
While we have seen many handsets taking the inspiration from popular smartphones, AnTuTu didn’t count them as “clones”. In their report, AnTutu uses the term “clone” mostly for the low-end smartphones that trick their customers with their copy design, which is similar to many flagships products on the market. Not only this is a lousy way to do business, but these brands also violate many international copyright laws with their action.
According to AntuTu’s report, they have benchmarked a total of 17.42 million smartphones from January to December 2017 Surprisingly, 2.64% of this number were cloned handset. Based on the report, 36.23% of all the clones were imitating Samsung’s famous Galaxy series. As a result, this makes Samsung the most cloned Android phone brand of 2017. Following behind with 7.70% clone rate is Apple, then Xiaomi.
AnTuTu reported that Samsung had been the best brand of choice for smartphone clones throughout 2017. Moreover, this Korean brand surpassed Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, and OPPO combined. In details, the most famous model that has the highest clones was the Galaxy S7 Edge. Its Chinese variant also made it into the list, together with the Samsung Galaxy S7’s standard European version. The next brand on AnTuTu’s list was Apple, with their iPhone 7 Plus. Interestingly, the Samsung flip phone – W2017 also has a high cloned rate. After Apple, Xiaomi is the third most cloned smartphone brand, with 4.75 percent of all dubious devices classified as copycats of its products. On the other hand, OPPO followed up with 4.46%, and Huawei with 3.40%.
Why should you avoid cloned phones in 2018?
Asides their low price and appealing display, the cloned phones brings can bring more harm to you than you think. If you owned a cloned phone, you have to face the security risk due to their low-end components. While the design might be similar, you can’t always guarantee about the phone specs or features. There is always a better and legitimate alternative for you on the market, even in the entry-level segment. You just need to spend some time researching for your dream product!

After Apple, Samsung is the next brand to go under investigation for planned obsolescence in Italy. What is the reason behind this accusation? Scroll down for more information!
Samsung and Apple under investigation for planned obsolescence!
Recently, the Italian Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) has begun the official investigation against Apple and Samsung. In details, they are claiming that these two smartphone manufacturers are now reducing the performance of older phones intentionally (planned obsolescence). While Apple issue isn’t new, the accusation comes as a big surprise for Samsung. This Korean brand has publicly stated that they don’t slow down their smartphones.
In details, Italian Competition and Market Authority received many consumer reports claiming the opposite. They are putting the exact charge that both brands are reducing the performance of old products to encourage people to buy new models. This action is done through a software update in all handsets. However, the big problem is that they didn’t inform the users about the consequences of doing this action.
Furthermore, the AGCM is going to carry out the investigations in collaboration with the Special Antitrust Unit of Guardia di Finanza. On the other hand, Samsung has denied the accusation in their latest statement. Moreover, they “do not provide the software updates to reduce the product performance over the life cycle of the device. We will fully cooperate with Italian Authority for Market and Competition’s investigation in Italy to clarify the facts.” We will keep you updated when more information from Samsung comes out!
What will be the conclusion of Samsung and Apple’s investigation?
In Apple’s case, Tim Cook has promised of a future iOS that let users choose between the performance or battery life. Moreover, Apple is also under investigation in France for the same reason. What are you thought of the situation? Drop a comment to let us know!
After releasing the details of their upcoming AI chipset, Samsung now has a big plan in store. According to their patent, Samsung future selfie cameras might locate under the screen! Scroll down for more information!
Samsung future selfie cameras to sit under the display!
With the massive popularity of bezel-less screen, the physical smartphone buttons are slowly disappearing. Previously, we have witnessed the first smartphone (Vivo X20 Plus UD) to come out with the in-display fingerprint scanner. However, smartphones brands still need to save the space for the selfie camera. Some of them located in a specific notch like the Apple iPhone X. But what if we put them under the display?! It looks like Samsung has the answer to our question!
Recently, we came across a patent from this Korean brand. In this drawing, the Samsung patent reveals a new flagship with a fantastic near-100 percent screen-to-body ratio and first-ever under-glass selfie camera. Furthermore, the earpiece and sensors will also go under the screen, leaving more room for the full display. Before Samsung, the Xiaomi Mi MIX also sport an earpiece below the screen. However, the quality of this feature doesn’t prove to be better than the regular earpiece.
Moreover, the early patent ( referenced by Samsung, LG, Apple others brands) also suggested using a transparent OLED screen. In details, the new device can come with a high refresh rate. As a result, the smartphone can flick the screen on and off, plus allow the camera to have a look during its inactive periods. On the other hand, the Samsung patent also showcases a hole at the bottom screen. Perhaps this is the home button of the handset. However, Samsung has switched to the software buttons with the Galaxy S8 flagship line onward. We bet that this hole can be used to place a fingerprint sensor under the front panel.
Samsung future selfie cameras: which handset will sport this setup?
We can look forward to seeing the new Samsung selfie cameras in their next member of Note series, Samsung Galaxy Note 9. What do you think about Samsung’s new camera patent? Drop a comment to let us know!

We have seen the fingerprint scanner, FaceID or even an Iris security in 2017 flagships smartphone! However, Samsung might bring a surprise in the upcoming year! Read more about the new Samsung Security Unlock method: Palm Scanning!
Next Samsung Security Unlock: Palm Scanning
Recently, we have come across the news about a whole new security scan from Samsung. In details, Samsung wants to use their users’ palm as a security check now. By scanning your palm, the device will be able to identify its owners and give them the password in case they forget. Previously, Samsung has innovated their security scan with a new Iris scanner. One of the most highlighted handsets to come with this technology was the Samsung Galaxy 8 and Galaxy Note 8.
So how does this Palm Scanner work? When activated, you will use the front camera to take a photo of your palm. There might be a risk of your palm not being unique here. However, there is a low chance of stranger having your palm pattern than your facial photos. Additionally, the password will be scattered across the lines without any pattern. This method is another security layer that Samsung wants to add. In case someone peeks at your handset, they won’t recognise your passcode easily or remember them.
On the other hand, various Samsung smartphones have different ways to unlock them. There are PIN, password, fingerprint sensor and even facial recognition. However, these might be not enough for the Korean giant! They always seem to be searching more a more secure and safe way to protect their users. As a result, the palm scanning might take a while before being applied in any handsets. Since Samsung now believes it is not the most secure layer.
What will be the Next Samsung Security Unlock?
While this method might not appear anytime soon, we can still believe in Samsung’ development for it. But for now, the Korean manufacturer might want to take time perfecting their 3D facial recognition technology first. Would you like to have this security method on your handset?
